They scripted Zenon and Greg breaking up because he wasn't going to be in the other 2 movies. He was starring in and filming "Everwood".

 Margie's character is stuck up, but by the end of the movie she realizes that she is treating people like crap in order to make herself feel better, so she apologizes to Zenon and they become friends. And Zenon's parents never trusted her specifically because of all the trouble she has gotten into.
