If I heard someone say that about me, I would probably be a little more mad at them. PLUS, Abandon praises God in their songs, and the Beatles didn't. :/

And not every Christian band is like. Yes some of them are, but some are just there for the music and the message. It's the company they sign to that changes them and markets them. But the companies don't write the songs; they can only edit them. Attractiveness is subjective. Take bands like Flyleaf

Your point about keeping lyrics vague does have some basis to it. The basic beliefs of Christianity are the same, but each branch has their own details that are varied. Although I don't think that songs are neccesarily written so as not to offend certain denominations - sometimes it's just hard to fit details in.

@Sandoler Its hard to grasp the amountof control a record label really has on the band. There are numerous bands who were simply hired as salaried employees to look and dress the part. They are called coordinated groups. There are numerous cases in gospel music and in secular music where the bands have broken up because they didn't like having their lyrics handed down to them by marketing executives. The companies have no legal obligation to allow the bands to write their own music.

At the bridge the lyrics go "You can say all the right things, but in the end what does it all mean?" The song is talking about the need to have a zeal, to be "on fire," so to speak, for God and for what we Christians believe. There is substance, you just have to believe it.
