Nobody outside of Japan has gotten to play the full version of this game, so why are the "fans" showing such disapproval for this game? As a true fan, I'm excited to see something new from the series. The gameplay looks solid and the branching storyarch has me interested in it even more.

No, but at least give the game a chance before you start saying "This game sucks without all of the other characters. blah blah blah." By keeping the game's character count to a select few, it allows the story to be a lot more story-driven. With so many characters in the 2D fighter, it was harder for the average player to keep up with the story.

The whole idea of changing the game's genre is what really drops me to the floor.

Guilty Gear XX is gameplay-wise the best 2D fighting game ever. Simple as that.

Plus, what about fans of the series who are fans of other characters than Sol or Ky? What about Axl, Johnny, Testament, Baiken, Millia and so many others that were just thrown away?

This game looks far from being the sequel any fan of the original series would like. It could be nice on it's own, though.

I'm a HUGE Guilty Gear fan and while obviously this isnt a 2D fighte I'm still VERY interested in it. Not everyone has to like it and thats cool. Don't buy it if you dont like what you see. Personally I'll be picking this up day 1.

This game is the best game since DMC4 to me. It may look like Dynasty Warriors but this game only takes one thing from DW. the capturing territory part. Everything else is very cool, even the HD graphics are cool. I hate how they make it look crappy on computer screens but if you play the demo it looks so beautiful. The gameplay is sweet(the demos tutorial sucks) but you can play A VS match with one of the games new characters (witch is actually like fighting a boss). I'm definatly buyin

Overture continues from the Guilty Gear The Missing Link... so Guilty Gear X, Guilty Gear XX, Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus DID NOT HAPPEN. Overture is an alternate universe.

Here's to put your information straight. X and X2 are sidestories. They exist but are not the main storyline. In the interview, Daisuke called them gaidens. They are still canon. Besides, Overture is five years after the first Guilty Gear. X probably happened a few weeks after the first. X2 and Accent Core plus appear soon after.

My information is from the translated interview from dustloop. Hope that clears things up.

This interview was conducted in 2007. The Japanese version of the game came out inNovember '07, but the US release date for the game is September 30th 2008. Hope this clears things up for you.

Daisuke is on fire! This guy is just full of new crazy ideas I'm seriously humbled! He's character designs surreal, the storyline is constantly off the chain and ofcourse he's sense of what's really entertaining is unparalleled. He couldn't just keep making fighting games, because in real life (unlike KOF and SF) someone doesn't hold tournaments every year for the hell of it, especially if the state of the planet is post-war. Let's really enjoy a good show!
