@odst123456 Depends on what type of horror you want, Dead Space nails the atmosphere and sound design spot on, that's where the horror comes in.

Resident Evil 1 managed to induce horror through atmosphere and the overall mystery, the setting was great.

Resident Evil 4 had more panic horror if you like, pitting you against hordes of enemies.

But of course neither RE, Dead Space nor Silent Hill can match themselves against Amnesia. AAA developers beaten on the homefield by indie devs.

@odst123456 there is a new resident evil being released on nintendo 3ds currently. i cannot recall the name right off but it is suppose to be much more suspenseful like resident evil 3 and resident evil 2 b were (being pursued ) . that's all i have to go on really. dead space 2 is really (to me) a rehashing of dead space 1 with a few extra goodies in it. it reminds me of the half life series how the next episode is always a little more eerie than the last and has new features.
