The whole point of my rhetorical question is that many of the people who say things like "The illegals knew that they broke the law when they came here" fail to think about how they and their ancestors came to my ancestors countries-and what the government of their country did to them. It's ironic to talk about the illegitimatcy of immigrants to a country which was found by essentially illegal immigrants.

ICE has routinely violated Constitutional rights to detain undocumented workers. If you want to use the rule of law argument, you have to hold ICE and Border Patrol to the exact same standard.
