is ur hair natural or are you in transition? i've looked everywhere for that shea moisture cream, i can not find it. HELP! i'm in transition right now and i'm tired of pressing it. i tried my 1st twist out, i don't really like it. but others say that it's cute. i like the way you did yours i think i'll try it to see how it turn out. i'll keep you posted. thanks for posting this vid.
I've been watching your vids for styling ideas for my newly natural hair. It's short at the moment but using the same products you use helped me to develop my own styles that work best for me. Thanks for the inspiration.
@proudmommy702 I'm really happy you were able to get some ideas and figure out what worked best for you!! I love trolling YouTube for inspiration or style ideas... Tumblr is another great site.
The video was great! My question: You are natural, but do you still go to the salon and get your hair pressed or just blown out? I have been watching a lot of the natural videos because I have decided I want to be all natural, but my problem is most of the women had to transition. I was not sure what that was at first and now know that they all at some point and time in their life had a relaxer. Is that your case also?
@1tinygem I got relaxers for a nice chunk of my life, but I have friends that have never relaxed and still had to learn to care for their natural curls. Most of them did go to the salon religiously, so they were never in a position where they needed to do it on their own. Personally, I was never someone to be in the salon all the time. Only for a trim or touch-up... now only for a trim and that's every few months, sometimes more lol
@mxwll106 I'm not one to really wear my hair in a bun... maybe if I'm working out or trying to keep a blowout out of my face at night... but for the most part I love wearing my hair down, out and BIG! Give this style a try... as the temps get cooler it will last even longer.
@missusjoy I'm 27 so a swear or two occasionally comes out. The majority of my videos are fine, but I don't necessarily make them with a younger, 10yo demographic in mind. I'm glad you enjoyed the video... sorry your daughter heard a swear word.
I'm in the process of transitioning right now and have been scouring youtube for natural hair videos, yours are some of my favorites :). Thanks for sharing!
So at night do I just put a bonnet on and refluff in the morning or just retwist it? And what if i let it set overnight instead of an hour or two? Would it be too curly or something?
@xxlondonlovexx The best way to figure out what does and does not work for you is to experiment. You want to see what method produces the results you like. Either would work.
@xxlondonlovexx It really varies. Since the hair is already dry it's not about the drying time, but however long it takes your hair to set. I like to leave them in for an hour or two... at the very least. It's easy to do your hair first, then continue getting dressed and doing whatever else you want to do around the house while they set.
@PamiWithLove I don't typically try to maintain my styles numerous days, but if you wanted you could use a little of your preferred moisturizer, retwist the hair and throw some rollers on the ends at night.
@psean03 That was one of the denman brushes they actually sell at Sally's. I don't remember the style # but I do know that it wasn't the one I see mentioned on a lot of natural hair sites. I didn't have the time to order online and I just grabbed this in the store for under $10. It really is something wonderful.

i love sweated out hair, im 20 and my hair has been natural but always alittle thin, thats the best way to make bantu knots.
wishywashygirl19 11 months ago
@wishywashygirl19 I gave bantu knots a few tries when I was transitioning. I like the dry twists because they kinda give a similar look.
