  • This is pretty damn good.

  • This is down like a step and a half...so weird

  • @gibsoncoca i think it's to help sanchez a little...

  • @gibsoncoca it's in drop d flat, because on the album it's in drop d, and they play all their old stuff a half step down from what it was on the album.

  • I WISH MY DADDY SANG IT TO ME WHEN I WAS IN THE CRADLE

  • can someone please explain what he's doing at 4:14 ??

  • @nqflip Screaming into the pickups, and fretting a string to key. :]

  • @GodsentHellraiser thanks! ive never seen that before...

  • @nqflip hes picking with his teeth not screaming into the pickups. He plays with his teeth often actually. From what i can sound there was some sort of delay and wah pedal sound effects as well.

  • That Hair grew some face on it

  • man he sounds better than ever

  • Not really diggin' the keyboard on this one

  • The first tune off the first CoCa album and it's still my favorite tune by them ever.

  • Im so pissed I cant get to their brooklyn show in a few weeks but I got two tickets for them and soundgarden at mohegan. First time Ill ever see them live and Im already having a heart attack thinking about the awesomeness!

  • @ChrisO7300 Dude you will love the show. Any coheed show is a life changing experience

  • @ChrisO7300 it's gonna be the best show you've ever seen.

  • @ChrisO7300 Did you love it? I saw them in april for the first time and for my first concert. My life was changed.

  • @Aaronlm91 Love cant even describe how awesome it was!

  • this song has like the best intro ever.

  • I miss their storylike lyrics. I hope their next album has more focus on lyrics and storytelling.

  • @Apocol0id Year of the black rainbow actually focuses more on a story line than any other albums. Second stage was perfect...but YOTBR puts more emphasis on the emotions running through coheed and cambria, and jesse. Read the YOTBR book, and listen to the music. It's very cool/interesting/epic. Lots and lots of story line coming from year of the black rainbow.

  • @avenged4life100 Hmm. Maybe I should read the book to get some context. The album to me lacked a lot of stand out lyrics like Delirium Trigger or Everything Evil. Though there's a few good ones that stood out to me. I should get the book.

  • @Apocol0id Getting the book is one of the best decisions Ive ever made. Ive read it countless times and I did a book report on it and half my class bought the book and read it and loved it. It is amazing.

  • they've worked so hard for all of this.

I'm so proud of these guys.

  • FACT: Mic Todd is the best bass player.

  • @Salmiaification By far the best at what he does! It's too bad he's a drug addict :(

  • FACT: Mic Todd is the best bass player.

  • Coheed Fans are bad ass cause were the only ones who know who they are and what they do. All likes haha

  • I'm friends with Wes Styles on Facebook! :D

  • @KingdomComeBand send me a link!

  • i have never seen a bad performance by them in the past 10 years. they are so fucking amazing. especially this song

  • april 8th and i will be listening to coheed live once again hasnt even been a year since they have been to kansas city and they are already coming back i really cant wait

  • @greatestsoloever. Awesome. Mine is April 9th in Dallas. We will for sure not be let down

  • This is my favorite song by c&c. I can't wait till Second Stage Turbine Blade here in a few weeks!!!

  • @takeraba13 April 18th for me!

  • Claudio's voice is so killer live now. I mean I always loved it but he's hitting every note and not changing much from the recorded version melody wise. Can't wait to hear it at Neverneder SSTB. 2 months!

  • Yeah from what I've noticed between seeing them right before IKSSE:3 and now is the energy on stage has kind of dropped off. They are a lot tighter though. I think they had a passion on the first two records that kind of dissipated right around/after Good Apollo Vol. 1. It was almost like they got more into writing progressively(if that makes any sense) then just writing really powerful energetic songs. I still love everything they've done. I'm excited to see SSTB in it's entirety in 2 months.

  • I WANT JOSH BACK! :'(

  • @skapunkteddybear same :(

  • I am sure that there are several more who can do it too, but I don't think anyone equals the quality of vocals and riffs at the same time, that Claudio pulls off. It blows me away and it is so tough to comprehend that kind of talent. Well done!

  • It is ridiculously hard to play what he is playing and sing what he is singing at the same time. They all have amazing control over their instruments and can sync tough vocal timings over what they are playing, without any noticeable mistakes. I am rarely impressed this much. Only a handful of people can pull off those type of riffs and vocals at the same time. Jerry Garcia, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Ralph Spight from The Victims Family.

  • Travis Cut his hair and their Creepiness level went down 50%. If only Mic didn't look like something that crawled out of a trailer. haha

  • SSTB is and always will be their best album, imo! Every song on this album is just perfectly crafted.

  • @SlashRose I have to (respectfully of course) disagree. In Keeping Secrets... In my opinion is their best. I got so many people hooked on them because of that album. Not to dismiss SSTB at all or any others since they are all amazing, it's just my preference because it seems to my like such an epic almost operatic, overture of music. I respect your opinion and hopefully you respect mine.

  • @vod64 I can see why In Keeping Secrets is some people's favourite album. There certainly are some excellent songs. Faint of Hearts is easily one of my top Coheed songs of all time. It's certainly not their worst album (either YOTBR, but more likely NWFT is probably their weakest imo). I guess I just really dig how SSTB is very cohesive as a whole album and just every song on it is the perfect mix of prog and pop.

  • @SlashRose oooooooh dont be so harsh with NWFT. u have to admit ( if uv ever been to a coheed concert) that screaming "raise your hangs high" is orgasmic. but i agree with slashrose. SSTB is more metal sounding than the rest like their upbeat stuff( like three evils and faint of hearts) and it was their beginning and its hard to stray from the beginning. i also respect everyones opinion :)

  • @weenisman69 i think good apollo 1 was their heaviest album, YOTBR coming in a close second. but you're absolutely right, it is hard to stray from the beginning, that's why i'm so happy they're doing a SSTB tour this year

  • @SlashRose I have to disagree (respectfully of course). I think IN KEEPING SECRETS... is their best album (in my humble opinion). I have made so many people fans of Coheed with that album. To me, its such an epic, operatic overture that I can never tire of... but that's just my opinion. Hopefully you can respect that, as I totally respect your opinion.

  • I love how Claudio makes random noises through his guitar, this one video showed my favorite, screaming into the pick ups.

  • gotta say, i didnt expect to see this one in the set.

  • whenever they play the old songs you see old coheed, so sick. who agrees with me?

  • whats up with the door knocker on Claudio's guitar?

  • @JustunLivae I think it has some effect wired to it. I know there is a final cut video were he uses it.

  • @ChevyDerald nice. im going to have to look into that to see what it does.

  • This is awesome!

never seen Travis use a Custom before either.

  • as someone who totally rejects everything they do nowadays and everything they have done for the last 4 years, i must say this is an excellent performance of this song. i'm very surprised they actually chose a cut off of an old record to play live on TV, but they've been filling their sets with older songs lately, which makes me happy. the original energy isn't there but they are on TV and all and the stage isn't really made for that, so i digress. this was pretty awesome though

  • Gotta keep this in the August tour lineup. Coheed + Circa was sick. Coheed + Porcupine Tree is beyond words.

  • they should hire the keyboardist for good,as another member, hes awesome.

  • claudios voice is sounding sick!! the band sounds a lot tighter since chris joined the band (not to say that josh wasnt an excellent drummer) but damn they sound a lot better live nowadays. i cant wait to see them next month.

  • Chills, chills and more chills. :)

I love this song, words don't cut it.

  • Comment removed

  • wow, claudio's singing is amazing here. not as high as it used to be, but his voice has grown over the years. I love it! it also feels as though he's more comfortable singing now and he's not straining as much.

And kudos to chris! excellent addition to the band :)

  • why is it that their sound has never been as "full" as the starland dvd performance?

  • @relyanddefy That was when they were in their prime, in my eyes. It was like... they were just starting out and had young passion in their eyes. They weren't big yet, so they were just so energetic and trying their hardest. It was all about the music and trying to stay afloat.

  • @DemonInJerseyCity too right man

  • Josh, because he was open-handed was limited in his playing.

Chris brings a great technicality to Coheed, and allows them to add a NEW kind of Intricacy. Here We Are Juggernaut/Guns Of Summer style.

  • @mattcookiecook here we are juggernaut is intricate?

  • @relyanddefy The high hat parts add subtle intricacies, to me anyway. Here We Are could be very simple, and effectively it is, but there's subtle little things that make it all the more enjoyable as a piece.

  • @relyanddefy For a straightaway rock anthem type song, the drums are pretty complex, in my opinion. I've played it a few times, and he certainly makes it look more effortless than it is. Between the hi-hat and snare pattern in the verse, the tom breakdown in the bridge and the constant 16th note bass drum beats during the chorus, it's certainly not the easiest song from their catalogue on the kit.

  • @withoutaface11 agreed. the way chris plays it, he makes it more complex,

  • Fucking perfect.

  • Time consume me!!!

  • Damn, Claudio's singing voice has gotten deeper.. not exactly lower, but deeper. Does that make sense?

  • @KornSOAD I agree. He has more range now than he ever has.

  • They look like they're so much younger here, I love it

  • Claudio's tone is fucking sweet!

  • Oh, Claudio is stho dreamy!!

  • I think Claudio listened when I told him this was the best song ever written/recorded last year in Puyallup. They've been playing it every show this tour.

  • It's kind of funny how they all look like they did when they first started. Claudio has lost alot of freaking weight. And it kind of looks like Trav has put some on. The only sad thing is that Josh is gone. They need to get him back. Chris is good, but he is no Josh.

  • @BDogGrizzly Two different animals, two different styles ya know?

  • @BDogGrizzly Chris > Josh

Josh = lazy towards the end of his time with CoCa

  • @BDogGrizzly no you prefer josh. Chris is without a doubt an all around better drummer, hes a better drummer than almost any alive. his work in coheed is nothing his work in dillenger escape plan really shows his stuff. your comment is fine untill you said 'hes no josh' what you mean is josh is no chris. thats like saying justin beiber is no claudio...its obvious. you can like josh better thans fine just be careful in your comments

  • @solonaviavenger I know what you mean. From what I have seen at a couple meet and greets I have been to where Chris was there. He seems like he's a dick. Josh was really friendly and was a straight forward nice guy. (Yeah A drugged up mofo. But ya know.) I do admit Chris plays better. I just like the soul that Josh put into his music. (Different kind of soul then Chris.) Just like comparing Apples and Oranges.

  • @BDogGrizzly im glad you understand and are not one of those dicks who think everything they THINK is law xD. i met Chris and the rest of the band at Northern Lights in Clifton Park NY and Claudio him were the most conversive but i do suppose it depends on the night and the mood they are in I get what you mean about Joshs soul he was by no means a bad drummer at all i just think Chris blows 90% of other drummers out of the water but yeah IKSOSE3 is my fave Coheed album and thats way before chris

  • All Hail Claudio! We are not worthy

  • Claudio's singing was amazing in this. The vocals sounded like a step back to IKSSE:3/Starland era.

  • Love to see that Coheed still keeps the same energy that they've had for so many years!! C&C will never die!!

  • holy shit, Claudio is wearing a t-shirt, with a graphic on it. a rare site indeed

  • that keywork logo looks tight on travis' guitar i want one!!

  • If they're playing this live more, i have to go see them.

  • I love some of YOTBR as much as everyone else, but I really miss this sort of intricacy with their music

  • Chris' drums nowadays are sex

  • @drumsfouraliving

Chris' drums have always been sex. His fills alone are stunning, the work he did with Dillinger was some of the best drumming I've ever heard. That said, his work with Coheed now is just as good, I find myself watching Chris a lot of the time at every show I'm at.

  • goddamn amazing.

  • How dare chris play that drum intro faster. Who the hell does he think he is. :|

  • @Zebrahead519 shut up.

  • @Boooby I probably should. The last thing this song needs is a flame war in its comments

  • @Zebrahead519 Haha, best comment ever. Thumbs up.

  • Very nice
