Great to see Friedman doing this number. It looks like a rather inexpensive production. This number should have a lot going on. It sets the whole fantasy for the rest of the evening. Because we just don't have the great Gertrude Lawrence on film, my favorite Liza is the wonderful Ann Sothern. There are dvd's available of it and I suggest people see it. It's all done live and there are some mistakes but it's exciting throughout.
This is one of my top 5 favourite songs EVER! It perfectly expresses my philosophy of life and it could be my epitaph! I saw this production of the musical at the National a few years back. I enjoyed it (not immensly, though) and thank you for such a rare opportunity to see a clip of one of my favourite musicals. There's so little footage of any version of Lady around! Someone recently uploaded the Ginger Rogers version on Youtube, did you see it?

Yes, I was able to obtain a dvd through Ebay years ago, but the one available on Youtube actually has better color quality believe it or not!
