raaaah this boss, nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, that fucking butterfly boss ! but the best music stage on thunderforce IV, wich it's my favorite shoot'em'up with "life's focre:salamander" on NES
thw composer just discovered that the fm soundchip also has real sound effects like guitar stored in it,s database.
so they were not forced to allway's to use the digital soundchannel for real soundeffects.
but digital soundchips can also have their soundeffects stored on it.
the only real difference between fm and digital sound is that fm saves alot of power etc,,,,but it sound can be noisy, but even that can be reduced with awesome rocky music sound like this.
what the fuck. this is the first ive ever heard of the game, it sounds more badass than 2 t-rexes with beards going at one another with chainsaws on motorcycles
Amazing what these wizards were capable of with such limitations. What happened? Why the hell does most modern videogame sountracks disappear from memory so fast?
Without putting zero life in the option screen (That gives you 99) I could never, ever ever beat that game. When you hear that song, you know you're in for a hell of a light speed play. BTW I agree it's the best song of the whole game. I taped it when I was... what? 10 yo! Time flies...
Game companies nowadays are so focused on graphics details, texture qualities, and blah blah blah that they forget mostly the others aspects, especially in audio. It's hard to find memorable game themes such this one nowadays
This is the part when the game cranked up the difficulty, but the song made it seem like you could conquer it, wouldnt be easy, it'd be a hell of a fight, but it just pumped you up so much!!!!
The only game ever where i've found out a cheat. Just trying how long you can keep your ship alive with the monitor out. By a mistake i changed the max lives to zero and tadaaaaaa i becomes a 99 lives. And i played and played just thinking "damn how many lives got this thing?". Pfffffff Stupid eh?
aww freakin epic! big props tronman! my fave song outta the whole game! ive scoured all corners of the internet for this soundtrack, you gotta tell me how you got it!
the music in this version is just more better then with the vrc7 chip,as the guitar sounds much more solid than on the vrc7 chip, either they,re just good.
it,s still incredible to push such incredible sound out of a fm soundchip.
i heard this song in a video about wow achivements but when this song came i didn't care of the video, beacuse i began to search this song.

the magedrive has actual 10 soundchannels and could be used simultineously.
2 channels could be even used as digital channel 1 4bit dac and 1 8bit dac.
the rest are only fm capable.
similar to the gba wich has 1 digital 4biit dac and 2 8bit dac channels, the other 3 are only fm capable, asswell the gba has 6 sound channels.
annyway sound on both systems are amezing!!!!
