I have never understood this fixation of men playing female characters, can someone enlighten me? What's that about, is it because you're all virgins? I honestly don't get it.
I have a bunch of different sets I use on my monkie girl. Current set is dragon body and hands, primeval legs and feed. For the longest time I used the full primeval set (<3 the idea of a tormented monk xD)
Elite Luxon is rather armor for female monks, for males...I don't really know. Obsidian is okay but for me I just don't see the point in spending 10x as much for a set of armor that doesn't look that much better. I don't mind seeing a bunch of paragons having obsidian armor because I feel with them...it's worth every penny. Monk obsidian just isn't.
Honestly, if Guild Wars wants the idea of allowing people to actually be different, they they should reserve a variety of elite armors and release a few of them on your titles, starting with KOAB (allows a selection of three armors), IVIP, IHMBLB, and finally reserve FoW only for GWAMM titles in Guild Wars 2 and make it in three different types so not every FoW looks the same. Thumbs up if you agree with me on this.
I'm just wondering how you get the angle without it being your account, you know the upword slant view. Maybe some of those were really the same monks, literally. You could simply use gwdressup.

I got the obby on my monk as well ,dyed dark purple,without dorky hat and chaos lamps.All these monks even have the same weapon sets,pretty odd tbh.I have a beautiful standard collector staff XD

Yes its died black, old black before dye update, so it looks different then if you were to dye yours black now, im pretty proud of that and refuse to redye it because of that,I would rather buy a new set, but that would be stupid, its black because black looks the best on that armor, white is okay and I like it too, but the black is nicer imo.

Back in the day obsidian and the sort had more value, but that was simply because the game was actually difficult. Difficult in both gameplay and getting money. I've never been there during the "real" glorious time, since I began my adventure with Factions, rather than Prophecies, but even I can tell what you mean when you call it broken.
I still enjoy it, but it's become a whole different game.

@LeanceHP I'm surprised that someone who started with factions has an accurate sight on 'early days'. Money was indeed hard to go by, but that made it better in my opinion. Money flows like water now. You'll see everyone with high-end weapons and armor. What's so exclusive about them when everyone has them?
I've known times that the 6 Obsidian Sets weren't even all bought yet. Times that there were 1-2 monks,afew warriors and maybe some necro's were the only professions that already bought a set

Elite skills were a hell to get, but man, was I strong once I got Word of Healing. Nowadays if you don't have all skills on a character you get dumped in favor of a facerolling assassin or a "SoS" Ritualist. It's sad business...

I like making mixes of my armor. On my monk I have bandana (gonna change it soon, maybe to blindfold), elite luxon top, labyrinthine legs, norm. kurzick boots and chaos gloves. All are black except chaos gloves which have blue+green+2 whites. It looks good in my opinion, especially with VS (black) and tormented shield. And I've seen that kind of armor only like once.
Personally, I play a wammo (until I can get out of Prophecies and change secondary profession...) and a N/Mo, and I find that they're great, since it's fairly easy to combine armors on them, provided you can get the dye jobs right. And even if you can't... Female Warrior Norn Armor FTW!!! And the Necro female Cultist/Fanatic sets are the ONLY "real" robes in GW. Say what you like, dervishes, you're all wearing dresses. Even the guys.
You know, I think people aren't getting the point here. It seems to me that Bucky was just trying to point out a common trend in this game: i.e., all monks seem to be identical, mostly because the customization options aren't all that great.
I personally don't think the chaos gloves suite the monk... Which is why mine is never getting any >:D, i did dye her starter armor black when the dyed dropped... Might dye it purple or something... Getting elite kurzick because it looks beast :D
Monk Obsidian armor with chaos gloves and dread mask/Blindfold is the most expensive armor in the game. I think it does prove something if you have it. It proves that you might have to much time on your hands but if i had it than I'd appreciate it and just look at the details for a bit. I don't see whats so wrong with having this.
lol, it's not because it's unique. It's because it's the most expensive shit to wear in the fuckin' game. In most cultures, what you wear shows off your economic status. Obviously, I'm broke as shit since I'm running around in regular glad gear :[

This video doesn't support your claim well, as only about half are died black, probably about half even have chaos gloves, maybe a third have "crazy hats"
i got mine simply to fill my HoM, and i didnt like my elite sunspear. only reason its black is because i like it most. If it was cheapest dye it stil would be. Half the time its behind shining blade anyway
@CrapsRasta The monks are just doing mess in PvP. They don't kill, they don't die... That's OK in PvE, but PvP should be more dynamic. Stalemate is good for chess.

@Wi11daThri11 I'm still not able to fill 7 or 8 slots with offensive skill, because I can't count on random monks in PvP. And I just hate situations where two monks can't kill anybody, but they can't be killed either, because they're healing each other.
i like the armor, u see a lot of them but its the best armor in the game. if you don't like fow armor then you're jealous that you can't afford it. most decent players have obsi and chaos gloves at least once on their account and because monk is the most useful for farming pvp points they just make their monk look as good as possible and put it on that char. I play core mesmer in HA with my guild so i put chaos gloves and obsi on that.

Monk Obsidian armor with chaos gloves and dread mask/Blindfold is the most expensive armor in the game. I think it does prove something if you have it. It proves that you might have to much time on your hands but if i had it than I'd appreciate it and just look at the details for a bit. I don't see whats so wrong with having this.

lol, it's not because it's unique. It's because it's the most expensive shit to wear in the fuckin' game. In most cultures, what you wear shows off your economic status. Obviously, I'm broke as shit since I'm running around in regular glad gear :[

i got mine simply to fill my HoM, and i didnt like my elite sunspear. only reason its black is because i like it most. If it was cheapest dye it stil would be. Half the time its behind shining blade anyway

@CrapsRasta The monks are just doing mess in PvP. They don't kill, they don't die... That's OK in PvE, but PvP should be more dynamic. Stalemate is good for chess.

@Wi11daThri11 I'm still not able to fill 7 or 8 slots with offensive skill, because I can't count on random monks in PvP. And I just hate situations where two monks can't kill anybody, but they can't be killed either, because they're healing each other.

i like the armor, u see a lot of them but its the best armor in the game. if you don't like fow armor then you're jealous that you can't afford it. most decent players have obsi and chaos gloves at least once on their account and because monk is the most useful for farming pvp points they just make their monk look as good as possible and put it on that char. I play core mesmer in HA with my guild so i put chaos gloves and obsi on that.

People are just stupid and don't know armor should at leats match, chaos gloves clash with about 85% of the in game armor. Plus like Most Comments, noobs do Like to show off. like having crap in a game matters. And yes I have Obby Armor on 2 chars and plenty of Ectos.

lol i finally got enough for fow and got it for my monk because thats who i play as 90% of the time and i was dreading it because everyone has =(. so i died it blue and use no chaos gloves or retarded hats so i don't feel as stupid for having bought it lol
