he was working with a song writer by the name of peter green around this time. don't know if he was in rayo x. NOT the peter green of fleetwood mac fame :-)
this album traveled with me around nz and Australia!! i loved it then and still do now!! I play this to my kids and dance with them so thank you for posting it. i think people under-estimate this guy...he's great.
David sang a song in SF in December that I have not been able to find...It was called "crackhead boyfriend" and it was hilarious. Anyone know where I can find it? Thanks.
can only find bobby fuller on utube. i guess theyre different people but not sure. the music is similar in ways. but no frizz. maybe they took off his frizby
You know how it's said that there is a fine line between genius and insanity? Well, David manages to be on both sides of that line, at the same time! But if it's got strings on it, David Lindley will make it yodel in ancient Etruscan. Jackson Browne should kiss this man's Romeos every chance he gets. He knows that without Lindley's soaring lap slide, he would've been just another SoCal country rocker and sold a few million less albums. I'm not dissing JB, he'd probably tell you the same thing.
Bob "Frizz" Fuller also wrote my favorite Linley cover of his: "Rag Bag" Though Lindley won't play it anymore (even if you ask him nicely). Probably cause he played it so much in the 80's & 90's.
@johnnyjolijt Romeos are a type of low cut work/casual boot with elastic in the sides and a flat non marking sole orginally designed by Red Wing Shoes.
Could someone please post the answer to these questions? Did David Lindley write this tune ? and/or is it his take of an earlier Classic..I just cant seem to get "Under the Boardwalk" out of my head when I hear it...also a little of Richie Valen's La Bamba..maybe its just me?..a stylistic thing....or they share similar compositional structure?..at any rate .. a real ripper of tune...seems to just sticks like
this guy is just fantastic... he's ugly as hell, he is an average singer... BUT, when he let's the strings talk he's just fantastic... must one of the top world's guitar players... I was on a concert in Tromsø, Norway... it was just David and 6 guitars on the stage... fantastic.. this was back in 1984... and the guy is still doung his thing... amazing.. just amazing... thanks to you guys sharing this.. brings back memories..
you are wrong on two counts,....he's as handsome as a fella can be; was at 20 and still is whatever age he happens to be at the moment, AND he is a fantastic singer!!

David is the second best guitar player ever (only beaten by Ry;-)

@timmersdala David second to Ry? WTF? No ways. Ry is a great songwriter but he can't hold a candle to David's musicianship.

This was a big early Jawaiian hit in Hawaii somewhere around the late 80's by the band Hoaikane. Had no idea it was written by Frizz Fuller.

It can't possibly be "Methlab Boyfriend" or some twist on it?

Frizz Fuller wrote this song. He was a guy that wrote some really obscure songs that Lindley covered...Quarter of A Man is another.
