  • they say the reason elk have evolved with such a high pitched squeal is because it can be heard for miles in the high country and if you want to attract a harem, you need to be heard

  • Nice video, I bet during rut season with the testosterone flowing they would charge a human.

Personally I'd rather shoot one with a camera, but I do know how good the meat tastes.

  • Awesome video. I hope to be enjoying a scene just like this in November in Colorado.

  • thats awsome.

  • It's wired how such a large animal makes such a high pitched sound

  • @cammarkgross Ain't it the truth!

  • Man, I think I would've had a heart attack!! LOL! I've never Elk hunted and to hunt one with a Bow has got to be a trip!!

    Exciting stuff there Danny!!

    5*s for sure!!

  • Thanks Robert. That show is going to air this fall on Pursuit.

  • Looks like he spooked the bull by moving his head at minute 1:23. Even the slightest movement can end a hunt.

  • That's when there needs to be a knife season haha

  • You've got that right!

  • That woulda been one hell of a hunters training video if he'd have rushed you guys!! lol... nice job tho! Did you guys harvest any?

  • We didn't get any that day, but it seemed like every hunt I filmed with Atkinson Expeditions was a success. Thanks for the comment!

  • did u feel like u didnt have a good shot? y didnt u take him?

  • The animal was looking her direction the entire time. This being her first elk hunt, she didn't feel she had an opportunity to draw on him.

  • thats what i was figuring by the looks of the vid. but i just wasnt sure, cause man that thing got up close! haha coulda just grabbed it and stuck a big fork in. can people go through the front facing chest with a bow? ive only seen side kill zone.

  • Id'a shit my pants. Ill remember to bring an extra pair if i ever go archery hunting for elk.

  • No kidding. I was just 6 yards from the elk at the time, and thought I was going to get run over..... adrenaline and fear, what a combination.

  • I love it when they spit on ya !!! Priceless footage, well done!

  • I'm good with it, just as long as they don't try to kiss ya. You sure can't beat the adrenaline rush!
