  • Yeah I never believed that Obama was genuine in wanting to reduce abrtions. (You shouldn't fund a medical practise with tax dollars if you want to make it rare)

  • Yeah, I never was a big believer that Obama was going to reduce. If someone is going to reduce something they shouldn't fund it with tax dollars.

  • Very good points. How can you can abortion is a right, and they say we should reduce that right? Doesn't make sense. What makes more sense is that abortion is a wrong and we should reduce that wrong.

  • I dont believe he said reduce the right to have an abortion; I believe he said to reduce the need for an abortion. I could be wrong, but that is how I interrupted what he said.

  • I am pro-choice; however you make a valid point on the use of funds. I cannot believe that I agree with most of what you say in this vid. I would be very much in favor of increasing the tax credit and the monitoring the counseling you mentioned and how the government funds are spent and what the out come of the sessions are.

  • Thanks for checking out the video. The fact that you are pro-choice and agree on many of the points shows that there are real common-ground things that can be done and I hope that they are (and not for political points for either side but to really help Americans)

  • I am probably one of the more liberal pro-choicers out there. While I still believe in choice I am not blind and I know we need better counseling. Having an abortion should not be an alternative to practicing safe sex. Once you have identified a problem, a habitual user, you can then start to identify a probable solution. If records are not kept and the counseling subpar then you are left with the same situation and no possibility of a resolution.

  • Record keeping and public accountability are low. My state, California, refuses to report the total number of abortions to the CDC. Every year the CDC report has California blank.

  • And there in lies the problem and a solution to that problem is to maintain current records that are of course confidential for the individual. You cannot treat someone for a problem or an addiction if all your records are blank. Then again accountability in government even under our new president is blotchy at best.

  • "And there in lies the problem and a solution to that problem is to maintain current records that are of course confidential for the individual."

--I am not talking about medical record. I am only talking about reporting the number of abortions and at what stage of the pregnancy the abortion happened. No personal information at all. That is what almost all the other states do.

  • Unfortunately, when you involve politics nothing is ever cut and dry or for that matter logical. I know I have participated in them time and time again.

  • In Obamas speech to Notre Dame Univercity (watch it on youtube) Obama said the Common Ground would be to stop people from having unwanted pregnancies by using every prevention type resource available. But if someone did fall pregant then every available resource would be used to help the person keep the baby/adopt. Then he said he would not remove a womans right to abort, because women would resort to illegal abortions which are dangerous for the woman!

  • We will see what Obama does. So far he has only spoken in generalities.

It is also true that the administration does not have a goal of reducing abortions. I have yet to see that listed as a goal anywhere.

If illegal abortions are so dangerous to women and must not happen...what about legal abortions to a preborn living human fetus? They are very dangerous...actually deadly.

  • That is true in part. It depends on when you believe that life actually begins. The moment the egg is fertilized or the first breath of the new born. I happen to believe it is the latter of the two.

  • What scientific evidence do you have to support your opinion?

    What makes an entity living?

  • I dont believe your can prove or disprove my opinion. It is all philosophical like trying to prove or disprove the existence of god. That is why it is just my opinion. In my opinion the ability to survive outside of the whom, not including protection from predators or feeding.

  • Whether something is alive can be tested by science. Do you reject that science can answer that question?

It sounds like you just made up your opinion. Are there any objective facts or arguments for your position? I don't think just having an opinion will convince anyone unless you have a rational argument. You don't reject reason and logic do you?

  • Of coarse I do not reject reason or logic. You are correct that science can prove that something is alive or dead. However, just because the cells divide from a single cell organism to a multi cell organism does not mean it constitute HUMAN live. If we would classify a fetus as human life, even though is sounds far fetched, we would be obligated to punish women for a crime if they were to have a miscarriage. I believe the legal term for it would be involuntary manslaughter.

  • God forbid she can't murder......

Should we ban murder because people might commit suicide? That about how your logic works.
