pro life supporters have higer rate of abortions and sexual deciase then pro choise. chatolic countries have more abortions then secural countries. allso it is shown that abstinece only people lack agency in their sexlife bechose they feel that they have less or no control over pregrancy and sex.

everyday in the US, 10,000 young people get an STD, more than 2,400 teens get pregnant and 48 contract HIV. the US has the highest rate of teenage pregnancy in the developed world. thats five times that of the Netherlands. it's incredibly important to give America's teens access to accurate information about STDs and contraception. this will prepare our teens for the future.comprehensive sex ed had all this. abstinence only education will do no good.

The thing about this is that there will always be teens that want to have sex, it's human nature, some kids will wait but u just can't expect all the teens to abstain from it; the world dosen't work like that, trying to abstain all teenagers from sex, is like trying to abstain all ppl from drinking alcohol, it just won't work. Sex is a natural, beautiful, thing, teens are going to engage in it eventually anyway, why not teach them how to do it safetly instead of sheilding them from it acting

I was so pissed off that what my school was doing (teaching abstinence only), that I just got up and left the class room. Sure I got a detention, but it was sure as hell worth it.

I find it odd that as an 8th grader, my grade hasn't been talked to yet about sex, contraception, etc. There are a great number of people I know that have had sex already. One girl moved to Oregon because she got pregnant. So sad.

I think I'll ask my teachers about that. Programs, I mean. They'll probably just change the subject or ignore me, though.

I know you're concerned to get the facts out there. The fact is many abstinence programs have studies showing decreases in sexual activity.  The run away STD rates, out of wed lock births which results in increased poverty and more children with social problems, and abortions in the millions every year has resulted from Liberal sex education. Be real. Kids need to hear abstinence is a good thing.

I love it, we should think for ourselves based upon FACTS not scare tactics. I did a research paper about this issue on Sex ed vs abstinence only programs. I don't think these abstinence programs are effective and nearly hundreds of millions of dollars are being federally funded. There are some schools systems who have these programs despite its ineffectiveness.
