  • ´I don´t believe in God´... O wait, God is an unproven entity. Global warming is not. It is fact. So what if you ´do not believe´; other people ´do not believe´ in evolution. However, like global warming, evolution is based on facts, not speculation.

  • @mphello May I ask what exactly you believe? Do you believe the Earth is getting warmer? Do you believe the warming is caused by human activity? Do you believe this warming will be catastrophic to humans? Do you believe humanity has the technology to alter the climate of the planet?

  • @hcm9999

May I ask whether you believe a communist leader can kill millions of people?

Does that one person have the technology to do all that? That's pretty outrageous.

It's not belief. It's proof and fact. Yes, humans are causing the atmosphere and oceans to warm, not the entire rocky part, dangerously, by their emissions.

Do you believe in cause and effect and quantum mechanics and the butterfly effect?

  • @mphello Could you show me the exact quotation and webpage that shows the proof that human activity is causing global warming?

  • @WatermelonPopsticles And so is your intelligence.

  • @WatermelonPopsticles And so is your intelligence.

  • So shut up, sit down, and do some damn research, before you open your annoying mouth. Thank you Have a nice day

  • Global warming is real and is happening before our very eyes. Every year we lose over one hundred species to extinction caused by loss of habitat due to climate change. The politicians that you talk about are not scientists. So great job you got one thing right, but you're still an idiot. The politicians get there information from the scientists, and back them up because they're the ones that have the political power and the voices to bring about change. And just so you know, you're not either.

  • Second, knowing that the planet has warmed and cooled, you said that there is no evidence that this would have an impact on life. Well you must have your head stuck up your mama's ass. Pretty warm up there uh? Any life? If you were smart (which you're obviously not) you would know that every time the planet warmed or cooled we lost half of the freaken life on earth. Unfortunately you're still here.

  • Going along with what I just threw in your Asian face I think that I should educate you on some facts instead of your own dumb thoughts. Alright lets start with the planet warming and cooling over the years. Yes it has happened numerous times, but if we go by your belief that scientists can not determine the temperature of the past then how the flippen hoo ha do we know that this has happened. uhh? Answer that one. Duuuuuuuuuuuuh. You make me want to fart in your mouth.

  • Holy shit! What the Hell is wrong with you man! None of your arguments relate nor are they actual facts. You talk about not being able to read the earths temperature for the last one hundred years but scientists can gather temperature data even further back than one hundred years with ice core samples. The thickness, color, and concentration of oxygen and Co2 in the samples can tell us what the temperature was that year far better than any man made thermometer could ever do.

  • Some people will not believe the truth even if it stares at them right in the face.

  • Read "Blue Planet in Blue Shackles" by Dr Vaclav Klaus, President of Czech Republic. He has a PhD in Economics.

  • @acavideo Well those "scientists" are saying that carbon is bad for us. When we need it for plans to live. They also say icecaps are melting, when they are actually getting bigger (Russian studies show decrease in temperature and more ice in there arctic research bases).

And then people like Al Gore make shit like "the inconvenient lie" with animated polar bears and upside down charts. And later governments pass carbon taxes that go to him. No I won't listen to some scientist.

  • @IRUSIpanzermaster I'm going to fart in your mouth too. We're not talking about carbon you schmutz, it's carbon dioxide. And we need that to live, and carbon yes but carbon is not a gas, unlike your brain. And we also need water to live but if you drink too much water you die, and if you have too much carbon dioxide you also die. I wish that people like you that were too stupid would also ... well you know.

  • @WARHOG156 huh? i never talked to you. And no shit we need water to live, what are you on a captain obvious trip? Some people, fuck!

  • @IRUSIpanzermaster And yes the ice caps have shown an increase in size in some areas, especially during the winter. Feeling dumb yet? But the majority of the caps are melting at an alarming rate. Like when you can't get it up for your wife. Also just because you don't like Al Gore doesn't mean that what he says is shit, and he didn't make it up just so you know. It's like the devil. Just because I don't like him or what he has to say, I will still enjoy my free candy on Halloween.

  • @WARHOG156 The satellite photos global warming alarmists show are winter in lets say 2003, then summer in 2010. The best real evidence is the El Nino in 1999, it set the foundation for this moment. But its like a roller coaster, temperatures later dropped to low negative numbers. In 2008-2009 we had another spike in weather, and again temperatures are lowering dramatically. Now (2011) we are in negative and will be for 1 or 2 years.

    source: UAH satellite-based temperatures.

  • Urgh, I don't even know what to believe anymore.

  • @WatermelonPopsticles Really? I have heard that Antarctica seems to be getting colder and bigger...

  • @hcm9999 No sorry, that's just your dick.

  • the sun is sucking the earth closer to it every time it orbits the sun feels hotter now a days

  • the funny thing about your accent, is that you don't sound brazilian at all; you sound more japanese.

...anyway I agree wholeheartedly with your views on global warming.

  • Really?? That is quite of a shock! Because I am Brazilian I always thought my English would be slightly better than most Japanese people...

    Anyway thanks for commenting!

  • @hcm9999 You speak Japanese very well as I saw in your other videos :) Nihongo ha jouzu desu ne? :)

  • @Seanus32 Thank you!

  • You make good points, but it could also be easily explained by simple math.

Water vapor accounts for 95% of all greenhose gases. CO2 accounts for less than 5%. Out of that minute amount, natural causes (ie. vegitation decay, volcanoes, etc) create 95% of all CO2 produced. Humans produce less than 5% of all CO2.

Simple math shows that human contribution to greenhose gasses is a fraction of less than 1 percent.

The climate has been changing for over 4 billion years without human help.

  • Thanks for commenting!

  • Amazing you say this, my sources say we only produce 4%. Nice to see we're close on these figures.

    She's a big giant scam.

  • @TheTruthHurtsYou I agree with every fact in your post but I have a different conclusion. I think you are only presenting a partial truth. Yes, there are much larger sources of CO2 than what humans produce but these sources are countered by very large sinks of CO2. These sinks also happen to be sucking up about half of the CO2 humans are producing. The CO2 that isn’t sucked up is the undisputable human caused increase of CO2 that has been measured in the atmosphere.

  • I appeciate that you have some sort of excuses to justify your ignorance of the threat of global warming, because a lot of people dont have any information to back up their lack of understanding, however global warming is a real threat, and more people need to appreciate it's sevarity itstead of comming up with excusses to ignore it. global warming is a serious problem and people need to stop arguing this, accept it, and come up solutions to fix this problem.

  • Hello, Layla! Thanks for your concern!

I am sorry if I don't agree with global warming. I am a bit suspicious about all the things that appear on the news, I think they are all so unconvincing...

I admire you for being so concerned about the climate.

I also worry about the climate, but feel frustrated when the explanations about it are so vague...

  • @hcm9999 Scientists have done a horrible job explaining the reason for concern! Let me try. CO2 absorbs light in the infrared range. Heated up objects emit infrared light. The Earth is a heated up object. When a molecule absorbs light, its electron go into the excited state, and afterward release energy which travels in all directions. Putting it all together, CO2 absorbs infrared light the Earth is emitting and release some of that energy back towards the Earth which makes the earth warmer.

  • @rsll1986 Thanks for clarifying!

  • You are wearing a black T shirt in the video. Go stand outside in direct sunlight for an hour. Then, go switch shirts for a brand new white T shirt.

You do not have a even a vague clue about the difference between weather and climate. Take some physics and mathematics classes at your local community college, if, there are any in your country.

Good luck in your life, you are blessed with living in interesting times.

  • Hello, sir! Thanks for replying!

I don't understand your argument... Standing outside in direct sunlight is bad for the skin... Are you saying that dark colors absorb electromagnectic rays and light colors reflect them?? I knew that, I don't get your point... Are you talking about the ice-albedo feedback?

Physics and mathematics used to be my favorite subjects at college.

  • According to the dictionary weather is "the state of the atmosphere with respect to wind, temperature, cloudiness, moisture, pressure, etc" and climate is "the composite or generally prevailing weather conditions of a region, as temperature, air pressure, humidity, precipitation, sunshine, cloudiness, and winds, throughout the year, averaged over a series of years."

So climate IS weather over a long period of time.

  • You need to inform the Arctic Ocean of your wisdom. It seems there is very little albedo left up there. Isotopic evidence proves man has increased atmospheric CO2 by 38% It's proven to be at work 24/7 over every square inch of the globe. The radiative forcing is very well known.

Historical global temperatures are derived by ratios of isotopes of O from ice cores such as Vostock.

Uncertainties in the science are explained by Dr S. Schneider. He has lectures posted on YT. I favorited them.

  • Isto é uma outra coisa que preciso estudar...Desculpa, não sei...Não entendo...

  • Like some others user's posts below, I think I can't have a reasonable opinion on the issue, but there's one thing I think I can.

You said the global warming may be caused even from the population growth.

The greenhouse gas emissions AND many other bad effects are directly caused by the population growth, this is what really should be addressed with higher priority.

  • Hello, Alexandre! Thanks for commenting!

No, no, that is not what I meant! I didn't say global warming is caused by population growth.

Some places like New York actually show an increase in temperature, but it is most probably because of population growth than global warming. If you want to measure global warming, you have to go to deserts and wildernesses, far from cities.

  • How about this. What if everyone thought like you and you ended up being wrong. Consequence = everyone loses. Pale blue dot dies.

What if everyone thinks like me and I'm wrong, global warming doesn't happen. Consequence = we pollute less, develop more efficient environmentally technology, and have a cleaner planet.

I don't see any positive things to come out of ignoring the issue.

  • I saw a man on the street corner with a sign claiming "the sky is falling." We all thought he was a nut, even though factories were spewing carbon emissions like crazy. But the world is a big place and i am breathing just as good now, as i did in the 60's. True, factories had to stop burning so much coal and we all had to conserve. Now that nut on the street is in college scaring people about global warming. scare tactics! Conserve, yes, but to put fear into our minds if we don't is ridiculous.

  • Olá, Hisao!

O que se pensa sobre o aquecimento global no Japão? As pessoas sabem do que se trata? Se procupam com isso?

  • Olá, Carlos! Obrigado por comentar!

Então, eu sou cético a respeito dessa idéia de aquecimento global. Mas aparentemente eu sou minoria aqui no Japão.

  • I don't have the energy to type out a coherent statement on the issue right now :)

But I have always been a little skeptical about some of the aspects of global warming, or at least with the way in which it is being presented to the public.

  • I completely agree! [x]

  • Hello, Leigh! Sorry for the controversial video.. I was is doubt if I should post this video or not, I was sure I would receive a lot of criticisms, but... what can I do? That is my opinion...

  • I never thought of it that way.....interesting.

  • Another thing. Remember the hole that we used to have in the Ozone layer? That was caused by the release of CFC's, they were released into the atmosphere by us, with very noticeable consequences. The world almost entirely stopped using them as propellants in spray cans, and the hole stopped and repaired itself.

Can you honestly say that we have no effect on Earth's climate? Can you say it would have been a good thing if we didn't have those crazy scientists studying the atmosphere?

  • I don't know about the ozone layer, can't say anything about it.

Humans have some effect on Earth's climate. But so does all other living beings, the sun, the moon, the Earth's core. The problem is: are humans the main cause of climate change? Do humans have more impact on the Earth's climate than all the animals and plants combined?

I am not against scientific research, I support more scientific research on global climate.

But I am against political action based on insufficient evidence.

  • I'll say it once again. Don't worry about things you cannot control (moon, sun, etc.). Worry about what we can control (pollution emissions).

  • We have the technology and ability to significantly reduce green house gas emissions. To say global warming is a hoax, lets not bother is both ignorant and irresponsible thinking (or general lack of). The worst that could happen is that we error on the side of caution and pollute the world less. Don't worry about what we can't control (ice ages, volcanoes, etc.) worry about what we can control - pollution.

What could be the possible benefit of your side of the argument?

  • Hello, Ryan! Thanks for replying!

We may have the ability to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. How much it would impact the global climate is debatable. Even the IPCC concedes that even if we could stop completely the emissions of gas right now, the results wouldn't appear FOR CENTURIES.

The problem with global warming is the waste of time and money that could be used to eliminate famine, for example.

  • Lets look at it this way.

Is CO2 a greenhouse gas? Look at Venus, the CO2 atmosphere is widely considered to be the primary cause of it's high temperature.

Is pollution a large man made producer of CO2? Yes. Can it be significantly reduced? Yes. Would it be a bad thing to produce less pollution regardless of whether global warming is natural or not? Not in my opinion.

  • Is it a POSSIBILITY that we could be causing global warming? Yes. Even if it is a 5% chance of happening, should we not take steps to reduce the outcome. To say that the effects of us taking steps against global warming won't happen for centuries so we should be ignorant, is being self centered. Global warming won't effect us either, but what we do can affect the future inhabitants of this planet.

  • "the problem with global warming is the waste of time and money" Really? Yes it costs money to improve technology and implement pollution reducing technology.

Everyone you know, everyone you have ever heard of lives on this planet, we need to take care of it. I think that is more important than money.

Military budgets far exceed any of these other costs, and famine could be eliminated if the world actually cared.

I think to sit back and just do nothing to reduce pollution is ridiculous

  • You refer to CO2 as "pollution". Technically CO2 is not a pollutant. Most animals exhale CO2, CO2 is necessary for plants to survive.

    But I digress.

I almost don't talk about CO2 in my video because CO2 emissions WILL BE REDUCED, not matter what, not because of global warming, but because of depletion of oil. Oil is going to disappear, probably in our lifetimes, and also all the gas-fueled cars. That is why everybody is trying to develop the electric car.

  • You make some good points. However life on this planet evolved with the environment behaving in a certain way. If we unnaturally throw the balance out by producing an abnormal amount of greenhouse gases, bad things could possibly occur. All I'm saying is we can takes some steps to mitigate the possible side effects from our gross consumption of natural resources. I don't think we should burn every last piece of coal or oil before we make a move.

  • As a power plant operator I'll tell you, f you have the right equipment in your plant you can significantly reduce the amount of pollution produced, and in effect get more out of the fuel.
