When I play drums I like playing heaps of different styles, thats why I'm getting this kit and selling my old one. I like playing along with ochestras!!

I like playing rock on acoustic kits but the main thing I'm after is an option to play really deep timpone sounding drums. Does this kit have something like that?

I'm also wondering does this kit has like a bongo type sound? Like a bongo drum kit? Does this kit have something like that?

@Gettaization roland released a new version. called the td9-kx2 but they both have all the sounds you're looking for.you would definitely be happy with all the percussion and general sounds!Iyt also has timpony sounds which are really tonal and realistic

I'm guessing you can get rid of some of the reverb/doubling/delay whatever it is that you hear on a lot of the kits? I know there's just a little, and it's nice for some things, but sometimes it's nice to have a completly "dry" sound.

@zantomun thanks it really helps. i really liked this kit as soon as i saw the double bass kit. i also looked at the td-4. the td-4 as well as a module(user-friendly). i do have to watch my price range though and i know the td-4 will be around $1300.

The kit cost me $2500 and I think the module alone is about $900. Definitely a few steps up from the TD-4 as far as price goes, but you get what you pay for. The only difference in the kit is the mesh toms and the new ride cymbal

The regular one (TD-9K) contains all dark grey rubber pads, except for a white mesh snare drum that's a bit smaller than the one in the video. The ride cymbal on the regular one has only two way triggering, so you can't get three sounds out of it like the one in the video, but only two.

I think that's pretty much it, but it makes a world of difference. The "upgraded" is TD-9KX, which you see in the video.

I''ve just bought the DT 9 K and not the KX. The Manager of the store was trying to sell me the KX but the way I look at it is basically you're paying an extra £400+ for mesh fibre on 3 toms (THAT's ALL!) The brain is the exact same on the DT9 K and so is the snare (well almost). Some of you may argue that the KX comes with the CY12 instead of the CY8. Well in my opinion they're basically the same except that you need to be more precise with the CY8.

This kit is the SAME thing as the TD12 exept for those things:

-Different kick pads

-Différent hardware (MDS12 instead of MDS9)

-Different sound module...td12 have 560 sound and td9 have 522 sounds...

- 3 cymbals w/ 3 trigger

the sound of the td9 as been updated last year, sound of the td12 are 2-3 years olds..

TD9 SX is about 2500$

TD12 is about 4300$

Choice is simple?! TD12 have some nice pattern like the melodies kit but its dosent worth the 2k $ more ...

to be a little more elaborate than Ranncidd.... technically yes, but sound wise, no... the left pedal of the double bass and the high hat pedal would sound the same, although....if you have three feet than that could be an advantage for you, but i highly doubt that, haha....so not really, the third pedal would probably just get in the way
