I definitely don't see what the big deal is. He was on a couple of TV shows and now he's some kind of hero. I understand he's goodlooking for his age if even that, but these people are given too much credit.
Iyengar, 86 years old here, is living proof that yoga can keep you healthy, strong and vibrant long into old age but seriously folks, how many of us can practice yoga for 5 hours per day as he says he does in this interview? The key to staying healthy, (which yoga incorporates) is to be physically active, eat well and think well. If you can't afford to do 5 hours of yoga per day then at least have a job in which you are physically active and supplement that with yoga practice after work.

Its a great to see a person whom doc said that he will jus live for 6 to 7 years is so healthy and going at current age. A real life inspiration!!

he's so right.
Yoga's content is the same, it's the titles that confuse the people.
none of the masters-not Iyengar not Jois not Krishnamacharya not Desikachar-have ever called their teachings anything but yoga.
