I found out why people found this off putting. well the aesthetic of one woman singing with a band behind them will give the viewer certain standards of an that artist subconsciously because the expectation of the singular woman performance requires massive vocal ability like Adele, Beyonce, Christina Aguilar etc, this is ingrained in the viewer's mind because they have seen nothing else of what the artist has to give.

Love her voice, she's cool and her songs are rather different and peculiar but that's exaclty why I like them! Be serious: how many life perfomances/concerts have you seen that are ACTUALLY GOOD?I mus honestly say VERY VERY FEW! Even if I love the bands/artists! For some reason it's seems to be ALWAYS completly different from album versions and not quite sure I ever liked a live performance better than the original studio recorded version. I think she did quite well and her voice is great!

@chrislgrooms at least she sings live and doesn't try to fake anything. She's just real and wonderful. period ;) I would start to worry about a singer always doing lip-synching instead (Madonna, Britney Spears etc.) Lana just shows how she really is. Yes her voice is fragile, yes she doesn't sing that good on TV / in a front of a lot of people but something is very interesting and different to her. Watch acoustic sessions, read her lyrics, maybe you get it. ;P

Reminds me of Tori Amos. I don't understand why everyone hates her so much. Her vocal range Is incredible and she's not afraid to use it in in her own, non-conformist style. Good for her! She's also performing at SXSW, so I'm not the only one that likes her!

she urgently needs singing lessons!! shes not capable of mixing both breast and head voice.this is why shes out of tune and the lower tones sounds scary.i like her because in some aspects shes still a rough diamond.but she really needs to improve her technical skills to have a musical freedom
