That's what happens when Catholic educational systems excel with "Achievements" and fails in "Spirituality & Morals".
There is no "nice way" or "politically correct" way to say we have failed!
Catholic Schools in the Holy Land (and I see this worldwide) have forgotten that their FIRST and MOST IMPORTANT mission is to nurture Christian teachings and facilitate the growth of faith in our little ones.
The return of the Latin Mass and the many fruits, not least of which are the number of vocations that are springing forth from Latin Mass communities, give me profound hope for the future, in turning this ship around. But I have no illusions to dire straits and the real clear and present danger we find ourselves in, as Michael so aptly describes. In one sense, I wouldn't have it any other way, and thank God for the real possibility of martyrdom. Til then, this Catholic soldier is on the march!
Thank you Mr Voris. I agree with everything you have said here, but I have one problem. You use the word "pray" only once, and only towards the end of your video.
@Toribus So? The video is of a limited length, and it is not intended to the final word on the subject of Catholicism. If we included some words, we'd have to miss others out. We cannot be expected to say everything in every video.
I love your work and thank you so much for speaking the truth. I am trying to learn all that I can and you are a great resource. I have a long way to go to lose my fear of what is coming. I'm no saint hoping to be a martyr, but I Trust Jesus to help me face whatever comes. I think you are right about what that will be. Again, thank you for trying to warn/prepare us.
May I make a petty request of all faithful Catholics? Please call evil by name. Homosexual sex is not at all 'gay'.
The world chomps at the bit to persecute the church - we must be willing to shed our blood for the faith as our Lord did. I have been trying to ready my soul for this for some time, I pray its not needed, but I place my and my family's souls in the care of the Virgin Mary.
I watched LOTR last night and their fight against insurmountable odds against evil inspired me. This video nearly brought a tear to my eye as I thought about how the culture is becoming ripe for the creation of many modern day saints. O that I may be among them.
Malaysia?? :( I'm a malaysian catholic, it's not so bad at all here. I have lots of muslim friends. Maybe in other countries you mentioned, but not malaysia.
Mexico's Supreme Court ruled nationwide recognition for Mexico City's same-sex marriages yesterday. I wonder what North America has earned for embracing all this abomination. 50+ million dead babies is an incurable wound, you can't replace a lost child. May God have mercy on us for he watching all we do and say.
I read about the lives of the saints and martyrs some time ago. I was very much impressed by the example martyrs gave us. And I wanted to be brave like them. I still keep that thought in my mind. It is scary I admit. However, I pray to the Holy Mother of GOD through the Rosary. And visit The Blessed Sacrament every time I can to talk to HIM our GOD.
@cipherv & dexgang. Enough. Both of you have made your points. They are valid, but I am worried more discussion would be uncharitable. No more discussion of this here.
When we pray at abortion clinics, our intentions aren't to overturn roe vs. wade.(of course that would be nice) but we hope to dissuade at least one woman from killing her child. if that happens that rosary was worth it. life is precious
Will Pope Benedict have any impact on the Church's abysmal state? We are hoping his leadership might change things for the better- at least within the Church. Outside the Church-that is a lost cause. The sexual revolution of the 60s destroyed us. We sometimes forget that beyond promiscuity & abortion, families too broke down.Kids have rarely had a mother at home,Full Time,in the last 40 years. This too is a main cause of societal disintegration. Mary's example of dedication to a child is mocked.
I have wondered the same thing about the Muslims. They are against a whole lot of things that our current culture seems to find so attractive. They are against many thing which the Church also condemns.
Although there are many many problems with Islam, I wonder if God is sending us a chastisement.
Abortion has been defeated in my home 11 times over. Represent, be an inspriation for your faith!!! Thank you Michael, for saying what no-one wants to hear.
It is simple - we live in the times of the great apostasy. As Our Lady of Akita (Church approved) said, the chastisements will be worse than the deluge (Noah's flood). The living will envy the dead. A great part of humanity will be wiped out. The Bible says 2/3 are lost (cut-off). But then will come the reign of peace mentioned at Fatima. But persecution is here now. The public sacrifice will soon cease (Daniel 12:11). Get ready for the virtual catacombs.
I've honestly been expecting something like this for a while now, which is one of the reasons why I've been reading as much about the true faith as I can get my hands on. Of course, the bible and catechism were the starting point, since you can't always depend on what other people say are written there, but lately, I've been reading some of the writing of Thomas Aquinas as well, and I was surprised by just how many of my own questions he seems to be answering. Stay strong and God love you.
Things can change when you least expect it - I remember being shocked when Mandella was let out of jail because I thought they would hold him forever. Or when the Berlin wall fell.
Part of the chastisement prophesied by Our Lady of Akita would be from within the Church, the apostasy. The other will be the chastisement of fire. Michael please make a video on this
Even on the darkest nights, dawn eventually comes.
"Do not fret because of the wicked, do not be envious of the evildoers, for they will soon fade like the grass, and wither like the green herb... yet a little while and the wicked will be no more," (Ps 37: 1 -10)
RCTV you have convinced me what we need is an inquisition. With modern rules for evidence and the maximum penalty is excommunication. Since this could only be applied to those claiming to be Catholic, if anyone sued in secular court for discrimination, the Church could reply with "separation of Church and State." Also, an internal system for appeals and reparations would be in place. This makes it an internal matter to the Church and the civil courts need not be involved.
Michael, I definitely don't always agree with you, but I think the world cannot sustain this level of immorality without another event on the par of the fall of the Roman Empire sweeping this Western culture away. Maybe Islam serve's as God's scourge (without following His will). I just don't know exactly what to expect.
I want to thank you for your sacrifices and courage. Not only am I learning authentic ringing with truth Catholicism from you I am also learning from your example. I recently subscribed to the premium channel not because I want to support (I do) but because when I listen and learn from your programming I get a clearer understanding of pretty much everything that matters. And that makes me authentically smarter. Which gives me a real chance to make the right, hard, choices. Thanks.
Yes. I expect these things. Western (secular) Civilisation is on the brink of its total collapse. Just examine Abraham Lincoln's statements on slavery b/f the Civil War. He anticipated the end of slavery taking another 50yrs. He was considered radical. It ended w/in a decade of his debate w/ Stephen Douglas (whose children were raised Catholic). The communists were ascendent in the 70s. A Soviet sponsored regime ruled Nicaragua when Reagan came to power. These things happen in a flash.
Very true and very sad. I don't know if having and raising kids is worth it anymore because they are going to be exposed to all these evil and disgrace.
@Naturalhit It is discouraging but losing confidence is the last thing one should do. Have kids and raise them right. If we all die out, who will be around to carry the torch?
If I were to be killed for my faith, I will die with a smile. The difference between us... they die in hate, we die in love. I pray that our tormentors will be forgiven, and thank them for sending me to my Lord.
"I am the wheat of God, and am ground by the teeth of the wild beasts, that I may be found the pure bread of God.... I long after the Lord, the Son of the true God and Father, Jesus Christ. Him I seek, who died for us and rose again.... I am eager to die for the sake of Christ. My love has been crucified, and there is no fire in me that loves anything. But there is living water springing up in me, and it says to me inwardly: Come to the Father. " Ignatius of Antioch

Rhet Butler, Gone With The Wind
Any bishop knows that if he were to excommunicate any well know public official, he would be martyred by the press. His life would never be the same.
But that's what the Church needs. Big things ofter have small beginnings.
