The "note" she hits at 2:50 doesn't make up for all the ones she doesn't hit. I know I shouldn't be listening if I'm not a fan but I keep trying again and again to like her, but she's just so nasally and very often flat or sharp. Am I the ONLY one who thinks so? I'm seriously just curious.

@1Camille2 I've noticed that also, but it's understandable.. she does move around a lot, and I'm pretty confident in my belief that she'd hit the notes if she wasn't so out of breath. If you don't like her live at concerts, why not try some of the (live) acoustic ones where she's sat down? :P I find them much, much more satisfying to hear. Don't get me wrong, she does have an amazing voice.. but it's not so amazing when she's struggling to catch her breath all the time.

A true test of any musician is performing live. Stripped of the advantages of mixing and dubbing, it's the performance in it's raw state. With evidence of a little backup singing, Evanescence did well with this, and Amy Lee's talent really shows. This is not an easy song to perform to say the least, and they held together well. Another great tune from a great band.....even live.

her vocals are nuts man. i thought it was a guitar solo on bridge. when i found out it was her voice, i went nuts. she's amazing. she's a little bitchy but aside from that she sells music and is real. she's not selling her body or an image. she's got the pipes to back it up unlike most female singers today who mostly autotune, lip sync, and use back tracks.

The "note" she hits at 2:50 doesn't make up for all the ones she doesn't hit. I know I shouldn't be listening if I'm not a fan but I keep trying again and again to like her, but she's just so nasally and very often flat or sharp. Am I the ONLY one who thinks so? I'm seriously just curious.

@1Camille2 I've noticed that also, but it's understandable.. she does move around a lot, and I'm pretty confident in my belief that she'd hit the notes if she wasn't so out of breath. If you don't like her live at concerts, why not try some of the (live) acoustic ones where she's sat down? :P I find them much, much more satisfying to hear. Don't get me wrong, she does have an amazing voice.. but it's not so amazing when she's struggling to catch her breath all the time.

A true test of any musician is performing live. Stripped of the advantages of mixing and dubbing, it's the performance in it's raw state. With evidence of a little backup singing, Evanescence did well with this, and Amy Lee's talent really shows. This is not an easy song to perform to say the least, and they held together well. Another great tune from a great band.....even live.
