No, that's not good for the IMF and the banks, you will not need the loans, if space would be somewhere in the economy.

My apologies. I didn't see the enormous anti-capitalist sign. I forgot about them because, frankly, anarchy leads to more and stronger capitalism.
They are silly for being both anti-capitalist and anarchist in this age. If ever anarchy were to be practiced, the economy would take over in ruling the people. Dollar voting and a free market would flourish (so long as food is under lock & key).
If capitalism is the reason why someone is against government, they may get a cold splash of reason.
what country are you living on? Anarchy is founded on the belief that private property is illegitimate and that the heirarchy created under the capitalist system is an aggregious violation of the rights of mankind.
While I understand that we need to be radical to reach that state, being intimidating seems counter-intuitive to me. It's setting yourself up as a common enemy for all governmental structures.
Anarchy is not like modern anarchists. This needs correcting. Most practicing anarchists are very disrespectful and intimidating. While I wholeheartedly believe in anarchy, I don't believe in all of the people I've met who proclaim themselves as anarchists.
So governments and corporations are allowed to be as disrespectful and intimidating as they want and we're supposed to be the polite ones?
They can disrespect the earth, disrespect people, disrespect life and anything that doesn't make a profit and intimidate all of us with their police and military and when a few of us finally get tired of it and congregate in public places to channel our outrage, we're the ones that are being unreasonable?
You're missing the point, and I never said any of those words you put in my mouth. Be reasonable.
Governments are definitely intimidating and disrepectful. But that doesn't mean anarchists should be. If you dislike governments because of the way they act, an essential mimicry is the stupidest thing you can do.
The simple way of putting it is that you're both being unreasonable.
It would better to show people what good anarchy could be, rather than shouting things and looking intimidating.
So we're supposed to sit around and be nice and worry about what we look like while those bastards destroy the world?
Don't get me wrong; I agree with you that people should be educated about all the good Anarchy can do and has done for the world, but that's only going to work with common people, who are the target of all the government/corporate propaganda to the contrary. It's never going to change the minds of those in charge who profit from the insane system already in place.
You're implying that being intimidating while protesting against laws will change the minds of those who benefit from laws? It gives them all the more reason to see you as a threat, and few people listen to reason from people they don't like.
Ideally, anarchy is inherently better. That makes appealing to reason is the best way to appeal to the "common people", since otherwise anarchy won't make sense to them.
Those who profit from modern goverment will likely never be for anarchy.
I don't think the intent is really to be intimidating. There are plenty of things that people do, direct action or not, that can be seen as intimidating. The intimidation is only a side effect. Besides, if they feel intimidated, then I say, GOOD! Let those bastards shake in their boots and know that we won't put up with their shit.
Do protests occur to actually change anything or to point out you're displeased? If you're trying to change things, you shouldn't make yourself a common enemy.
If they become afraid, they won't yield to your will -- they will eliminate you as a threat to public safety in exactly the same way as they've been eliminating small harmless cults for the past hundred years. You want to live differently? They won't let you.
Progress should be more important than standing on a soapbox.
During a real Left vs Right battle, governments will crumble..One day this politics and arguing will end: Anarchism will touch the hearts of more and more people, capitalism will gain more enemies, the globe will be in a real security nightmare, nothing like nowadays, this is nothing in comparison of what is to come. If you knew mathematics, even a gentle grasp, then you would understand that youre systems will crumble one day. Thats true mathematics.
"We're here, we're queer, we're anarchists, we'll fuck you up." What kind of gay ass chant is that? Then you all screamed like bitches when the police were pushing you, weak sauce. No one will take you seriously.
A FEW people screamed, and it wasn't because we were bein' pushed, genius. Pay attention. They used pepper spray. They haven't really used pepper spray in DC since like 2005, because they tend to be sued because of it. Even Harold, their captain, seemed upset that an officer used it. They even sprayed three of their own. Might have been illegal, not that I give a fuck what their laws say.
Anyway, you weren't there I assume. What were you doin'?
Well, either way, so a couple of people were emotionally distressed. Happens. You have no idea who they were or what their circumstances were. I was there. You assume that all of us were experienced and prepared for that. Regardless, your comment is pure antagonism. It's not constructive at all. I'm not particularly proud of that march, but sometimes you chalk up a loss. No need to insult people like you have.
I must agree, what these kids are doing is not protesting these kids it seems like the "rush" peaceful and legal protests are best. and i say legal because if it was legal (and yes sometimes you need a city license) the cops would not have been there. see the kids banging on the cop car? stupid stupid ;)
protest in the US are always small the youth are so unaware of the things that happens around them its sad especially in a democratic country it shows the government can do anything it wishes and the mass wouldn't know even if it affected their lives
fucking pigs, everytime I see protesters pigs are always resorting to violent measures. This country was founded on the right to protest. Who do these pigs think that are?
Chantal, Obama recently asked Congress to approve up to $100 BBBbillion to the IMF for global poverty, this small protest took place shortly after that announcement, can read about it in AP report "Protesters, police clash near IMF meetings in DC." The big deal is the enormity of the global bailout Obama's proposing so quietly.

What anti-capitalists? Anarchy isn't anti-capitalism. Anarchy and libertarianism are intertwined.
They embrace a free market, which would show extremely higher profits and returns on investments than the commerce system currently in place.
