Nothing very distinct or memorable about this theme. It's sounds quite generic and uninspired. You could hear the same music in countless other fantasy movies / games. The H3 Stronghold theme is still the best.
Just shows how distant can the two music pieces of the same games stand apart from each other on the scale of quality. (compare this with necropolis theme)
I love the heroes games. I think this new heroes is really good. But there one thing I really don't get. You don't actually get to fully immerse yourself in your town cause it's windowed. I personally think that's the worst thing about heroes VI.
I am so glad Stronghold got an army that doesn't die by the hundreds after every battle!
The army in III was so fragile, I had to invest heavily in armor, resistance, Earth magic, among others just so I can make it from one side of the map to the other with most of my army still intact.
The army in V lacked good ranged units, and the Wyverns were always hit first.
To me, stronghold means raw, barren rock cliffs in a wasteland with a few trees sprinkled in amongst the rock crags.Perhaps a stream cutting through the desolate landscape. IMO, this track captures the majesty of those cliffs with the horns and the war drums, the desolation with the quiet, lonely flute.
