I am seriously laughing so hard I can barely type. This has got to be a joke, it just has to. How else can you explain such blatant disregard for facts? If this dude really believes the garbage that he is spewing out of his head, then I have about 20 books he should read. Well, maybe not read, my niece has a bunch of coloring books that I'm sure he would enjoy. I think one of them is a picture of a "brontosaurus" too, so yeah, this guy is an idiot.

@Spiderpope Just because a mistake is made in one field of study, does not equal an entirely separate field of study being wrong.

Global warming is not a fact. Climate change is. CO2 is not a cause of climate change, it's a product of it. Water vapor is the leading cause of what you call "global warming". Remember Eyjafjallajokull erupting back in 2010? It spat out more CO2 then we ever have. Don't forget about the oceans, taking up 71% of the Earth's surface, has contained life longer than any other place on earth and constantly spits out CO2 as a byproduct.
there's a lot of theists and atheists unconvinced of global warming because its an issue that does not require a religious standing to have an opinion on. I generally call anyone stupid who denies global warming's presence and thinks the human population is not increasing in a overwhelming manner
Skeptical because there has always been a natural fluctuation of 15*C. We're current in a cool period. Our CO2 levels are nothing in comparison to natural disasters... i.e. Ash Cloud of 2011. These fools know they are lying, but thats what they do to sell their bullshit story. You doing what a 100 other Atheists are doing(Pwning Christians),is a good way to enlighten ignorant ppl.,that have been brain-washed all their lives, looking blindly on the internet and stumble across different views from what they've learned, but believers are still not listening.Their needs to be a more in your face approach still.Maybe the next generation of rationalists will produce such a device?.

I saw the ad. for this video where you just grab your nose and make some sound about the guys statement that Global Warming does not exist and that is exactly what I have done in real life.
Random question, forgive me if it is obvious to all, but I wanna know.... WTF do creationists have against global warming theory?? Let me put on my crazy tinfoil hat and think this through... what do they have in common? hmmm.. oh yeah.. NOTHING! Except that the political party that panders to the religious right also panders to the corporate types. It is all about power.
Browsing IlluminatiTV there's a whole lot of twatfuck going on, the anti-abortion video where he describes college as a scam and how we need to save our souls or god will ruin america's economy was a particular highlight for me, I needed a good laugh. But then I got scared because he's serious :(
Is there actually people arguing because they don't know that global warming is real? For fuck sake, turn off fox news, put down your bible and fucking read something from a scientist already. Global warming is a fact. Yes climates shift and change over millions of years naturally, but we're seeing a faster shift because of our green house gases that humans have been producing. Fact is fact. In my opinion you're no better then the people who claim evolution isn't real lol. Morons lol.
How very odd that I keep hearing that Brontosaurus was "made up." It was a perfectly legitimate fossil species. Its just that OC. Marsh, on discovering a skull of another large sauropod in the same strata, assumed it belonged with "Brontosaurus" when in fact it was separate sauropod genus, Camarasaurus. And of course, you are correct in saying that another "Brontosaurus" skeleton had previously been discovered and named Apatosaurus.
@WildwoodClaire1 My first draft of this video included a more robust history of the Bone Wars but unfortunately the 90 seconds allowed for this round meant that it ended up being cut.
Never got around to expanding on it, maybe I'll touch back on it the next time I hit a video dry-spell.
@notinmyname2050 Definition Of A Troll: One who posts a deliberately provocative message to a newsgroup with the intention of causing maximum disruption and argument. You Sir are The Troll.
An analysis released in September 2007 on the IPCC scientific review process by climate data analyst John McLean, revealed that the UN IPCC peer-review process is "an illusion." The notion of a "consensus" is carefully manufactured for political, financial and ideological purposes.
@lennyhipp I think Galileo disagreed with the majority also ,and let me explain so you don't have to say, that's not proof,I'm not comparing myself, it's an analogy, Etc. BTW water vapor and sun cycle = global temp variation.
I'm all for that guy believing or not believing anything he wants... it doesn't bother me either way. Poking fun at others beliefs is another thing. What reason did he have to bring up Santa alongside the tooth fairy and global warming?
By all means point out how silly the brontosaurus is but leave Santa alone!
I'm all for you believing or not believing whatever you want - doesn't bother me either way in the slightest. Poking fun at other peoples' beliefs is another thing. Any reason why, in a video on bad science you felt the need to bring up "Jesus" alongside the Tooth Fairy and Santa?
By all means, point out how much of a moron this guy is and the logical inconsistencies of his arguments, but leave remarks where they belong; in discussions about religion.
@777static777 If you took the time to find out about the guy I'm responding too you'd know that his distortions of science go far beyond climate change denial and he is,in fact, a fundamentalist who wants to have creationism/intelligent design taught in public schools and also tells people that the USA was founded as a Christian nation.
As for which points I can or cannot bring up in my videos, that's my choice, not yours.
@notinmyname2050 Mate, the fact is, you actively went out of your way, in a video on science, to belittle the religious beliefs of someone else in response to a video that mentions nothing about religion. Granted, the presenter may be a fundamentalist with the opinions you mentioned, but what bearing does that have on anything in this discussion (that is, the 'discussion' between you and him)? You essentially dilute what is a very good, logical argument with petty insults
@777static777 You seem to believe that religious ideas have some special privilege that allows people to only discuss them in certain ways at certain times. This is part of the problem.
Yes, I went out of the way to poke fun at the fact that he believes something as patently nonsensical as the Biblical to be fact. Why wouldn't I? They are, by any useful definition, ridiculous and so I ridicule them.
You do not have the right to never be offended, get over it.
@notinmyname2050 You're jumping to conclusions a little bit here. I see that your "you believe religion has some special privilege" assumption is a favorite of yours. I never once said that. What I said is that you're taking what was a very good logical argument and then dragging it through the mud by needlessly insulting someone's beliefs, when it had no bearing on the subject matter what so ever - likely because of your own obvious vendetta against religion.
@777static777 It's not an assumption when you say things like, "Poking fun at other peoples' beliefs is another thing."
When you make such declarative statements it makes it clear that you think that religion is not as open to ridicule as other topics. If that's not what you meant then the problem lies in your choice of words.
If you want to see what my views to religion actually are then feel free to watch "beyond belief" or "Are atheists too Aggressive" on my channel.
@notinmyname2050 Actually, you have jumped to the wrong assumption here; I said feel free to poke fun at how much of a moron he is and the logical inconsistencies of his arguments because these are A PART OF THE VIDEO that you are responding to. Poking fun at his beliefs, on the other hand, when they have nothing to do with the video is just childish.
Yes, I've seen your video "Are atheists too Aggressive" and, note, I didn't comment on that video. I saw that before this one
...and, frankly, having seen that video makes you appear to be somewhat of a hypocrite in this video. You state that "no one is trying to suppress religion" and present a picture of yourself just standing there doing nothing as an example of you "not practicing religion" as proof that you don't suppress religion - and I found this amusing and agreed completely... Until I watched this video where you actively go out of your way to attack someone's religion when it's not relevant to anything
@777static777 So now laughing at/ridiculing someone's nonsensical belief is an "attack"? Oh for crying out loud.
If this man chooses to believe in a self conceiving, self resurrecting messiah who can walk on water and uses clouds as a form of transport that's his right. But I reserve the right to point out how ridiculously idiotic and insane those beliefs are whenever and however I choose.
@notinmyname2050 Um, yes, ridiculing something is and always has been considered an attack on said thing. I'm pretty sure it's not rationally discussing it, simply choosing to look the other way, passively disagreeing, so on and so forth.
Yes, you have the right to actively insult whatever you disagree with whenever you want, but not when you intend to come across as a logical, rational, intelligent person discussing a topic from a position of some sort of objectivity
@777static777 Some people are not capable of rational discussion , they are weak angry individuals that lash out when forced into an intellectual corner ,they tend to start name calling change the subject ,or in my case pick out any grammar mistakes they possibly can which is obviously a sign of a week position on whatever position their crying about at the moment.
And you're last point, to an extent you're right. But what would you say to someone ridiculing another based on their taste of music, the color of their skin, their sexuality, their scientific leanings, etc. Hell, I'm pretty sure if someone took a stab at your own beliefs, on some level you would be offended. And when you get offended, it's not in your nature to just sit back and think "oh well, I don't have the right to never be offended"; you would argue back and defend yourself.
Excellent video take-down! For anyone who's feeling even slightly convinced or confused by the anti-science trolls in the comments, I've got a new article online that might help: just do a web search for "switching off denial: a guide"
He does have one thing right. Consensus doesn't necessarily equal accuracy, although a consensus will be reached on any topic if the facts all point the same way. Ultimately, I guess what we need to do is investigate whether the people subscribing to one position have done so because of all of the masses of evidence that point in that direction, or because of some short sighted political ideology based on the idea that anything unpleasant is just not true.
Sir, with all due respect, I must say a big "fuck you". I have watched your videos and generally find them entertaining and informative. However, you have crossed the line here. How dare you ridicule the scientific contributions of Micky Mouse.
Ps. I only subbed you to cyber-stalk you. Nobody disses Da Mouse biotch.

@lennyhipp MAN MADE Global warming is a theory ,climate change was here before us and long after us ,The scientific fact is from Wiki. You sure have a big mouth,I'll pay for a ticket for you to come to Seattle and we'll see how loud you are then, having a big mouth does not make you right ,like I told the other dickhead these are not my theorys and I can find 1 climatologist who agrees with me for everyone you can.
Garth Paltridge,Visiting Fellow ANU and retired Chief Research Scientist, CSIRO * Hendrik Tennekes, retired Director of Research, Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute:
William Kininmonth, meteorologist, former Australian delegate to World Meteorological Organization Commission for Climatology:
Ivar Giaever. Nobel Prize Winner for Physics Dr. Kiminori Itoh PhD environmental physical chemist.
well, to be correct, they're not theories at all, are they? research what that word means in science
"I can find 1 climatologist who agrees with me for everyone you can"
yeah, good luck with that. while you're using the plane fare money to get properly educated, make sure you raise your hand and ask teacher what a scientific consensus means.
tinyurlDOTcom/climatologists222 <- notinmyname already told you this 1 month ago!
@lennyhipp Reid Bryson Emeritus Professor of Meteorology
Richard Lindzen, a climatologist from MIT
Dr. Timothy Ball is Chairman and Chair of the Scientific Advisory Committee
Siegfried Fred Singer George Mason University ,University of Virginia,University of Miami School of Environmental and Planetary Sciences, National Weather Bureau's Satellite Service Center. Ph.D. in physics from Princeton University future trends "models are very nice, they are not reality they are not evidence."
Scientific facts are generally believed to be independent of the observer: no matter who performs a scientific experiment, all observers will agree on the outcome.MM GW is a political theory not a fact. Was the 8 ft movment of Japan included in the GW theory? how will this effect our orbit around the sun? tell me the next volcano eruption please! what will it's effects be? a trend will not continue expodentialy.
@davetileguy "Was the 8 ft movment of Japan included in the GW theory? "
Of course not. Why would it? This question alone betrays a monumental ignorance on your part and shows that, until you have figured out what climate science is and how it has no connection to tectonic theory, there really is no point in talking to you.
@notinmyname2050 Really! so planet wobble ,sun orbit, solar flares have nothing to do with Global Warming,I mean Climate change? I love shutting down smart peopole like yourself who open their mouth without using this thing called google, look up Milankovitch cycles, ocean selenity, ice reflectivness, tides even damming fresh water and creating manmade lakes all effect our orbit (distance) from the sun = temperature.
@davetileguy Pretty much proved my point. Listing a bunch of factors we haven't even discussed and then pretending as if I've dismissed them out of hand now also shows that you lack honesty as well as knowledge, feel free to throw a tantrum if you must but I will be exercising the only form of censorship I ever support.
@notinmyname2050 Good on ya'. That davetileguy sounds like a real Dickwit. I don't think he speaks English as his main language. I had trouble de-cyphering him.
@Nilguiri I don't blame your irrational anger, the truth is hard to deal with,go ahead lash out at my facts. Most libs can't deal with facts so they name call, I understand .
I didn't claim to have a solution. Cutting greenhouse gas emissions would be a good start - although we have already left it too late.
I was pointing out that you were talking nonsense.
e.g: if I understood your thesis, you seem to think that tidal effects of damming slow the orbital velocity of the earth (not rotation?) bringing us closer to the sun, in spite of the fact that the distance to the sun is the least critical with respect to the average temperatures on Earth.
@Nilguiri So when you see something called the "?Milonkovitch cycle" you think it's my "davetileguy" thesis? interesting,so you can't use google either,I'm not trying to be insulting whe I ask can you do your own research without predjuduce? I don't personaly believe the damming of fresh water is having a significant effect on the Earths rotation,my point is there are effects that are incalcuable by man period.
@Nilguiri Here is what I know for a fact,Oxygen is a poison not Co2, the Earth's temp and sea level has flucuated radicly before man existed, Man will survive,Politicians are liars, lastly nobody I know is FOR poisoning the Earth but thats what one is labeled with if you are not lockstep with the current rage,I would be far more concerned with cleaning up the oceans!
@Nilguiri Run away now nothing to see here!!Co2 is the issue almong with cow farts according to your side not mine,I can understand how a lesser mind would think I'm all over the place there's a lot to cover BTW because mankind is here and the temp is going is called circumstancial evidence.
@Din182183184 Try breathing pure oxygen or pure Co2 that will resolve weather they are poisonous, pure oxygen can be breathed for a few hrs but you will suffer brain damage, Co2 at 4% will kill you, please clarify not a poison?? Because we are here and the temperature is rising would be called circumstantial evidence,GW is a theory not a fact according to the scientific method.
1. We suffer only brain damage when breathing it at high pressure for several hours due to our bodies not being equipped to deal with it.
2. CO2 is only poisonous in large quantities, mostly due to our bodies being unable to handle it. If CO2 were actually poisonous, we'd die after drinking carbonated drinks. But we don't. I wasn't wrong, but I wasn't right either.
3. Gravity is also just a "theory". But that doesn't mean it's wrong.
@Din182183184 Really?? so WIKI is wrong and your right!! OK then I'll inform them ,you think 4% is a large number compared to 96% is that new math? is Co2 in your stomach the same as your lungs? do you know what causes one to expel "belch" after drinking soda?? I say Gravity is caused by Co2 emmissions ,you dummy that's the point of course it exists but know ones going around claiming my dirt bike is increasing gravity, although If your teacher told you I'm sure you'd gofor it!! keep um commin!!
@davetileguy Allow me to explain global warming in a nutshell.
Is it bad? Yes. Can we fix it? If no-> then we should still try. If Yes->Then how? We know how!->we need to impliment the method then. We don't know!->we need to try and find a fix.
So unless you think global warming wouldn't be bad. Then we should still try to find a fix for it.
@Microtardz I don't believe you explained it nor do I feel that I need it explained (although I do welcome and appreciate healthy debate) Climate change is what it is just like Solar flares,Earthquakes, volcano's etc, we just roll with the punches adapt and survive! doing something out of lack of info just to feel good doesn't work for me,and no it's not "bad" it's Mother Nature.
@Microtardz Listen child do your homework before you open your mouth ,if all the ice melted it would not cover the Earth ,There is more Co2 than we could generate about to be released through melting tundra,The Earth has been here for umpteen billion years mankind is not going anywhere relax ,If we ceased to exist to day your own brilliant scientists say in 100 yrs the temp would lower by 1/2 % ,THE SKY IS FALLING BECAUSE SOMEONE TOLD ME SO!!
@Microtardz Your just repeating propaganda that's backed up by poor science and populous fear mongering, think about it who TOLD you we were going to die? was it the same people who said Y2k was coming? Acid rain? Ozone hole? Swine Flu? ICE AGE IN THE EIGHTIES? Sars?Anthrax? Mad Cow?Rahm Emmanuel said "never let a good crisis go to waste" think, think ,think whats the "crisis of the hour? turn on the news they'll tell you!! critical thinking try it!!
oh. no. you. didn't! ahahahahhahahahahahaha! davetileguy, ignorant conspiracy theorist google abuser just admonished someone for not thinking critically? wow, just wow. Because the media hyped Y2K, now you think the scientific consensus were worried about it? you don't think mad cow and anthrax and swine flu and SARS happen? they're not things people should worry about? tell me what state you're from so i can avoid it like the plague
@davetileguy as far as you repeating the ignorant lies of "ice age in the eighties" it was the seventies, and it's fabricated. see ?v=EU_AtHkB4Ms
and your silly " have nothing to do with Global Warming,I mean Climate change" you can stop repeating these ignorant lies as well after viewing this vid: v=mqMunulJU7w <--read the video description in BOTH those videos, they have links to the actual research
and as far as mad cow goes, feast your ignorant eyes on this: cdcDOTgov/ncidod/dvrd/bse/
@Microtardz There is no point arguing with this guy any longer. He won't listen to logic. All he is doing is trolling. Leave him alone and let him go harass someone else.
@Microtardz WOW. i've heard of doomsday alarmists, but PLEASE do a little research. the polar ice caps melting wouldn't destroy our civilization. it might flood manhattan, miami, and most other cities near the shores... but destroy civilization?! HOW exactly?
also, please explain why increased temperature on earth = our atmosphere destroyed
look, i know davetileguy should change his moniker to daveignorantandgullibleguy but you're not doing the pro science side a favor by your ignorance either
@Microtardz look, you're on the right side in the debate, you just shouldn't repeat things you know NOTHING about. if ALL the ice in the world melted, not just on the caps, it wouldn't destroy civilization... and would only raise the sea level a few meters
@lennyhipp If all the ice in the world melted, cold fronts would stop existing, which would cause what?
What happens when a cold front meets a warm front? Water evaporates and turns it into a gas. Now, if this water were to never cool down. Would it ever turn into a liquid? Or would it stay in a state of gas?
You're arguing water level rising, i'm arguing weather patterns.
Without cold fronts water in gas form cannot return to water in liquid form.
So yes, the melting of the ice caps where air is cooled down and travels across the globe with the name COLD FRONTS, would cause 1 of 2. Irregular weather patterns.
Or 2. The ceasing of rain.
Ofc, this is if it isn't a natural occurrence and we aren't going to go into an ice age.
“CO2 emissions make absolutely no difference one way or another….Every scientist knows this, but it doesn’t pay to say so…Global warming, as a political vehicle, keeps Europeans in the driver’s seat and developing nations walking barefoot.” - Dr. Takeda Kunihiko, vice-chancellor of the Institute of Science and Technology Research at Chubu University in Japan.
see my recent PM to you... anyone can cherry pick quotes from supposed climatolgists... you're excellent at making Arguments from authority logical fallaicies (insert golf glap here)
@lennyhipp Why don't u pick apart those PHD quotes? ,tell us all where your various meteorological degrees are from? since your the authority? try not to deflect the question now eh?
i already addressed your nonsense in my PM to you that you didn't have the courtesy to respond to. I also strongly urged you to cite some quotes from these very same PHDs that have degrees in climatology. It's intellectually dishonest of you to pretend this convo never happened, but i'll consider the source
"where your various meteorological degrees are from?"
NEVER ONCE claimed to have such, so your snarky question is a strawman and dismissed
I am seriously laughing so hard I can barely type. This has got to be a joke, it just has to. How else can you explain such blatant disregard for facts? Random question, forgive me if it is obvious to all, but I wanna know.... WTF do creationists have against global warming theory?? Let me put on my crazy tinfoil hat and think this through... what do they have in common? hmmm.. oh yeah.. NOTHING! Except that the political party that panders to the religious right also panders to the corporate types. It is all about power.

An analysis released in September 2007 on the IPCC scientific review process by climate data analyst John McLean, revealed that the UN IPCC peer-review process is "an illusion." The notion of a "consensus" is carefully manufactured for political, financial and ideological purposes.
davetileguy 8 months ago
@davetileguy Who cares about consensuses? just becourse lots of people agree does'nt make it real...
This fenomenon is called common sense, and has nothing to do with science... so why would scientists want any form of consensus anyway?

I'm all for you believing or not believing whatever you want - doesn't bother me either way in the slightest. Poking fun at other peoples' beliefs is another thing. Any reason why, in a video on bad science you felt the need to bring up "Jesus" alongside the Tooth Fairy and Santa?
By all means, point out how much of a moron this guy is and the logical inconsistencies of his arguments, but leave remarks where they belong; in discussions about religion.
777static777 9 months ago
@777static777 If you took the time to find out about the guy I'm responding too you'd know that his distortions of science go far beyond climate change denial and he is,in fact, a fundamentalist who wants to have creationism/intelligent design taught in public schools and also tells people that the USA was founded as a Christian nation.
As for which points I can or cannot bring up in my videos, that's my choice, not yours.
notinmyname2050 9 months ago
@notinmyname2050 Mate, the fact is, you actively went out of your way, in a video on science, to belittle the religious beliefs of someone else in response to a video that mentions nothing about religion. Granted, the presenter may be a fundamentalist with the opinions you mentioned, but what bearing does that have on anything in this discussion (that is, the 'discussion' between you and him)? You essentially dilute what is a very good, logical argument with petty insults
777static777 9 months ago
@777static777 You seem to believe that religious ideas have some special privilege that allows people to only discuss them in certain ways at certain times. This is part of the problem.
Yes, I went out of the way to poke fun at the fact that he believes something as patently nonsensical as the Biblical to be fact. Why wouldn't I? They are, by any useful definition, ridiculous and so I ridicule them.
You do not have the right to never be offended, get over it.
notinmyname2050 9 months ago
@notinmyname2050 You're jumping to conclusions a little bit here. I see that your "you believe religion has some special privilege" assumption is a favorite of yours. I never once said that. What I said is that you're taking what was a very good logical argument and then dragging it through the mud by needlessly insulting someone's beliefs, when it had no bearing on the subject matter what so ever - likely because of your own obvious vendetta against religion.
777static777 9 months ago
@777static777 It's not an assumption when you say things like, "Poking fun at other peoples' beliefs is another thing."
When you make such declarative statements it makes it clear that you think that religion is not as open to ridicule as other topics. If that's not what you meant then the problem lies in your choice of words.
If you want to see what my views to religion actually are then feel free to watch "beyond belief" or "Are atheists too Aggressive" on my channel.
notinmyname2050 9 months ago
@notinmyname2050 Actually, you have jumped to the wrong assumption here; I said feel free to poke fun at how much of a moron he is and the logical inconsistencies of his arguments because these are A PART OF THE VIDEO that you are responding to. Poking fun at his beliefs, on the other hand, when they have nothing to do with the video is just childish.
Yes, I've seen your video "Are atheists too Aggressive" and, note, I didn't comment on that video. I saw that before this one
777static777 9 months ago
...and, frankly, having seen that video makes you appear to be somewhat of a hypocrite in this video.
777static777 9 months ago
@777static777 So now laughing at/ridiculing someone's nonsensical belief is an "attack"? Oh for crying out loud.
If this man chooses to believe in a self conceiving, self resurrecting messiah who can walk on water and uses clouds as a form of transport that's his right. But I reserve the right to point out how ridiculously idiotic and insane those beliefs are whenever and however I choose.
notinmyname2050 9 months ago
@notinmyname2050 Um, yes, ridiculing something is and always has been considered an attack on said thing. I'm pretty sure it's not rationally discussing it, simply choosing to look the other way, passively disagreeing, so on and so forth.
Yes, you have the right to actively insult whatever you disagree with whenever you want, but not when you intend to come across as a logical, rational, intelligent person discussing a topic from a position of some sort of objectivity
777static777 9 months ago
@777static777 Some people are not capable of rational discussion , they are weak angry individuals that lash out when forced into an intellectual corner ,they tend to start name calling change the subject ,or in my case pick out any grammar mistakes they possibly can which is obviously a sign of a week position on whatever position their crying about at the moment.
davetileguy 9 months ago
And you're last point, to an extent you're right. But what would you say to someone ridiculing another based on their taste of music, the color of their skin, their sexuality, their scientific leanings, etc. Hell, I'm pretty sure if someone took a stab at your own beliefs, on some level you would be offended. And when you get offended, it's not in your nature to just sit back and think "oh well, I don't have the right to never be offended"; you would argue back and defend yourself.

I'm entirely neutral on this of course.

davetileguy 10 months ago
@davetileguy "Was the 8 ft movment of Japan included in the GW theory? "
Of course not. Why would it? This question alone betrays a monumental ignorance on your part and shows that, until you have figured out what climate science is and how it has no connection to tectonic theory, there really is no point in talking to you.
notinmyname2050 10 months ago 10
@notinmyname2050 Really! so planet wobble ,sun orbit, solar flares have nothing to do with Global Warming,I mean Climate change? I didn't claim to have a solution. Cutting greenhouse gas emissions would be a good start - although we have already left it too late.
I was pointing out that you were talking nonsense.
e.g: if I understood your thesis, you seem to think that tidal effects of damming slow the orbital velocity of the earth (not rotation?) bringing us closer to the sun, in spite of the fact that the distance to the sun is the least critical with respect to the average temperatures on Earth.
Nilguiri 9 months ago
@Nilguiri So when you see something called the "?Milonkovitch cycle" you think it's my "davetileguy" thesis? interesting,so you can't use google either,I'm not trying to be insulting whe I ask can you do your own research without predjuduce? I don't personaly believe the damming of fresh water is having a significant effect on the Earths rotation,my point is there are effects that are incalcuable by man period.
davetileguy 9 months ago
@Nilguiri Here is what I know for a fact,Oxygen is a poison not Co2, the Earth's temp and sea level has flucuated radicly before man existed, Man will survive,Politicians are liars, lastly nobody I know is FOR poisoning the Earth but thats what one is labeled with if you are not lockstep with the current rage,I would be far more concerned with cleaning up the oceans!

Nilguiri 9 months ago
@Nilguiri Run away now nothing to see here!!Co2 is the issue almong with cow farts according to your side not mine,I can understand how a lesser mind would think I'm all over the place there's a lot to cover BTW because mankind is here and the temp is going is called circumstancial evidence.
davetileguy 9 months ago
@davetileguy
1. How is oxygen a poison?
2. Carbon dioxide isn't a poison either.
3. The temperature of the earth has fluctuated in the past before, but not nearly as fast as it is increasing now.
4. Of course nobody is for poisoning the earth. There are people who just don't care what the earth is like in 50 years, after they're dead.
Din182183184 9 months ago
@Din182183184 Try breathing pure oxygen or pure Co2 that will resolve weather they are poisonous, pure oxygen can be breathed for a few hrs but you will suffer brain damage, Co2 at 4% will kill you, please clarify not a poison?? Because we are here and the temperature is rising would be called circumstantial evidence,GW is a theory not a fact according to the scientific method.
davetileguy 9 months ago
@davetileguy
Din182183184 9 months ago
@Din182183184 Really?? so WIKI is wrong and your right!! OK then I'll inform them ,you think 4% is a large number compared to 96% is that new math? is Co2 in your stomach the same as your lungs? do you know what causes one to expel "belch" after drinking soda?? @davetileguy Allow me to explain global warming in a nutshell.
Is it bad? Yes. Can we fix it? If no-> then we should still try. If Yes->Then how? We know how!->we need to impliment the method then. We don't know!->we need to try and find a fix.
So unless you think global warming wouldn't be bad. Then we should still try to find a fix for it.
Microtardz 9 months ago
@Microtardz I don't believe you explained it nor do I feel that I need it explained (although I do welcome and appreciate healthy debate) Climate change is what it is just like Solar flares,Earthquakes, volcano's etc, we just roll with the punches adapt and survive! doing something out of lack of info just to feel good doesn't work for me,and no it's not "bad" it's Mother Nature.
davetileguy 9 months ago
@davetileguy Not bad?
So the extreme likely hood that the polar ice caps could melt and destroy our civilization isn't bad?
Allow me to explain why your solar thing is wrong.
Life, on this planet is a THING film of atmosphere. IF That thin film of atmosphere is destroyed. WE DIE!
No adapting, NO NOTHING!
And, EVEN IF, Global warming is wrong, WE'RE STILL polluting our world.
So, WE as a race, need to face the fact that, WE need to fix this.
Or we're going to KILL ourselves.
Microtardz 9 months ago
@Microtardz Listen child do your homework before you open your mouth ,if all the ice melted it would not cover the Earth ,There is more Co2 than we could generate about to be released through melting tundra,The Earth has been here for umpteen billion years mankind is not going anywhere relax ,If we ceased to exist to day your own brilliant scientists say in 100 yrs the temp would lower by 1/2 % ,THE SKY IS FALLING BECAUSE SOMEONE TOLD ME SO!!

@Microtardz WOW. i've heard of doomsday alarmists, but PLEASE do a little research. the polar ice caps melting wouldn't destroy our civilization. it might flood manhattan, miami, and most other cities near the shores... but destroy civilization?! HOW exactly?
also, please explain why increased temperature on earth = our atmosphere destroyed
look, i know davetileguy should change his moniker to daveignorantandgullibleguy but you're not doing the pro science side a favor by your ignorance either
lennyhipp 9 months ago
@lennyhipp Uhhmmmm, flooding being the only bad thing that comes out of the lack of cold fronts?
Increased temperature =/= destroyed atmosphere
Global Warming=destroyed atmosphere.
The only thing I didn't do was highly detail it.
Microtardz 9 months ago
@Microtardz look, you're on the right side in the debate, you just shouldn't repeat things you know NOTHING about. if ALL the ice in the world melted, not just on the caps, it wouldn't destroy civilization... and would only raise the sea level a few meters
same thing with the atmosphere bit
lennyhipp 9 months ago
@lennyhipp If all the ice in the world melted, cold fronts would stop existing, which would cause what?
What happens when a cold front meets a warm front? Water evaporates and turns it into a gas. Now, if this water were to never cool down. Would it ever turn into a liquid? Or would it stay in a state of gas?
You're arguing water level rising, i'm arguing weather patterns.

if you think the answer to this is "civilization would be detroyed", you're as clueless as davetileguy
it's all i'm saying about it with you. much more interested in educating and disputing that delusional loon

@lennyhipp Lol. Uhh, actually.
You completely missed everything I said.
A cold front+hot front= rain.

@davetileguy *sigh*
see my recent PM to you... anyone can cherry pick quotes from supposed climatolgists... you're excellent at making Arguments from authority logical fallaicies (insert golf glap here)

@lennyhipp Why don't u pick apart those PHD quotes? ,tell us all where your various meteorological degrees are from? since your the authority? try not to deflect the question now eh?

"Why don't u pick apart those PHD quotes?"
i already addressed your nonsense in my PM to you that you didn't have the courtesy to respond to.
