I agree the Yahtzee imitators are bad--more for themselves than anybody else. That said, Yahtzee doesn't somehow 'own' insult comedy or critique. And the author of this video seems to have the comedic timing and knowledge of movies to make it work.
If he actually distanced himself from Yahtzee a bit, by--ya know--not ripping off his entire visual style, then he could even turn into a person that I would watch regularly.

Personally i think this is fine... in theory. Doing a yahtzee styled review animation on movies rather then games is well entertaining. However no offence to the creator of this video but he doesn't really have the voice for it. He never sounds interessted in what he's saying nor interessting for us to hear.
Also a yahtzee styled thing is cool but to completely rip off his animation to go as far as stealing his 'avatar' is just plain stupid.
Animation was crap, "comedy" (if you can call it that) was dry and unamusing, the idea is so overplayed I think my retina just detached and the low rating and comments will back me up sir. You are now officially in the "Big book of people who want to be Yahtzee" in the less than glamorous chapter of "Epic failures".
Umm, there's a big difference between shoddy camera work and what ever the hell you would call the Cloverfield style of shooting. Granted, Cloverfield wasn't an amazing movie it shouldn't be bashed because of the style of filming. Its shaky because its all shot with hand-held cameras, and because its supposed to be dramatic (that whole monster movie thing.) I agree that some of the camera angles in this movie could have been better but unless the sequel involves an 80 story

It's hated so much because while Yahtzee is a reliable source for gaming criticism, schmucks like this pop up so they can link the page on their myspace accounts and gain 2 or 3 additional friends, as well as receive as many comments as possible from their friends praising their cleverness and wit, when it's neither original, accurate, or entertaining.

Agree'd, there was no need to repeat the Yahtzee style at all, you 'ought to have thought up something original and used that as a vehicle for your material/opinion.
There's a few videos like this on Youtube, and all of them could have been much better if they'd simply resisted the urge to copy the ZP style, been original and not used the excuse of a "tribute" or whatnot.
Other than that, decent review.

I'm going to go against every thing these so called "fan boys" of Yahtzee are saying.
I liked it. It was cute, funny, and had its own sense of humor (though the Brit accent pushed it). I mean, if I was a comedian like Yahtzee, I would love to see people using my work as a base for theirs. Did he review the same game or rip? No, he review a fucking movie. Get over it you idiots. He is doing a good job.
