  • Battery B was where we lived from about '66-'67 before we moved on base....yes it was off base and they say it no longer exists. It was little stucco houses mixed in with the wood frame Japanese houses about a mile from the main gate and about the same if you took a trail to what they called the back gate which was really the side gate.

  • ZOMG i used to live there..... fuck that place

  • Home sweet home:) Thanks for a few good memories:)

  • We're hoping to go to Misawa here in a few years so this was fun to watch. I have one question tho... What the freak is that elevator music you're listening to?! xD

  • See i'd rather freeze my butt off over there than be deathly hot BORED and misearable at Kadena airbase or should I say Alcatraz. Trapped on an island with nothing but Americans and a small population of Japanese, just a horrble assignment!! Misawa or Yokota ONLY!!

  • omg! i remember that! i think the last time i was it was yesterday..hmm.jk..i went to cummings and now in edgren.use to live in north area from 07 or 08 ---09 then now off base.. :(

  • I miss misawa so bad I lived at 131 C in 2001 I miss sollars. lol I carved my initials ka in a tree by 131 across the streets where the old tlfs were. and my sister did aa if anyone can find it email me 3rd-5th grade was sooo fun

  • i use to go to that school... man i miss japan so much haha

  • I remember that just out the gate down an alley to the right, there was this restaurant called companions. Best food ever! Were there two elementaries? I thought it was Cummings. If there were two, I lived like a block away from the shopette near cummings, close to lake Ogawara.

  • I remember going into the base when I was 1st grader in 1990. The town and people intimidated me and I often thought American kids were rude and aggressive, I feared them lol. I lived in Midorichou.

  • I wish I could go back. Ultimate vacation! 1988-1995. Went to the original Sollars, then Edgren. I remember the 'old' hospital - never even saw the new one. When the mall opened up near the main gate we felt so civilized. I lived at 403-C near Tiny-Tot University. On Google, neither seem to still be there.

  • Oh my gawd...that was my old elementary school. So many good memories. I miss Japan! ;~;

Also at 2:17 - down the street was my old house. O.O I remember a lot!

  • Hey, glad this short video clip brought back some good old memories for you.

  • Yeah, thanks for uploading! Have you ever knew what happened to Rocket Park? I heard the took down the rocket..but I can't imagine how it would look. Lol.

  • I lived here until march!

  • I use to go to Sollars Elementary School from Kinder. to 3rd grade.

  • i went to sollars from pre-school to 5th grade and i used to live in tower 115 but later in 2004 moved to tower 212

  • thanks so much for doing this! My dad was ops off with 4th FIS , an F 102 squadron, 1960-64. we lived in B Battery, if it's still there. My strongest memories are the flight line and school but I havent seen anything since I was a kid there. I think I may try and start a Facebook group for the Sollars for other TCKs out there. I'm on Facebook as Valerie Craigwell White. thanks again

  • Hey I'm glad you enjoyed my videos. I know the quality is garbage but it should be able to bring back your good old memories of Misawa. You mentioned you lived in B Battery but is that off base?

  • Yep, the Hill. There've been a few vids of it, and/or photos, put out on it, but poor quality.

Don't believe there's any regs against it. Just take a gander on google....lots of photos, and even Wiki has a good writeup with photos.

Just would like a good video, and you seem to be in the positon and like to record.

    Domo arigato, ne'?

  • How about a run up the hill and then one perhaps by the flt line?

    And RipSaw?

  • You mean security hill? That might not be a good idea for me to record. Flight line should be possible. If I get a chance I will try to get some footage.

  • Okay, thanks for the info.

  • HELLO

  • welcome to Misawa. Uh, about the high school, well its been a long time since I went there so I really don't know how it is but I believe they have the regular sports activities and others. One thing for sure is that this place is very safe. That can also mean its boring too. But I am sure as a high school kid you will probably find something fun to do while your here.

  • I just moved here on the 15th of oct and im wondering if the high school is any good?

  • what vehicle are you in? sounds pretty nice!

  • So your coming to good old Misawa. You might enjoy this place. If you like to ski or snowboard then there is plenty of places to go and have fun. This car I drive is a MAZDA MX-3. I have a sports exhaust on it so it sounds pretty nice huh.

  • What is this music always playing in your car?? It's great!

I lived just down the street from sollars.

  • I'm glad you like this music. Its by a Japanese group called Fantastic Plastic Machine. The name of the song is Pura Saudade(Nova Bossa Nova).

  • thanks
