This song reminds me - of the beauty, innocence of the past.......I know I can no longer live there - but I will always treasure it in my heart and take it with me everywhere I go.
happy 7.18/2011 to all . it is 102 degress here in St. Paul, Minnesota with high dew points in the 70's, tropical to say the least but listening to Percy and gloing back to the 60's in my mind
I willl never forget this so elegant and melancholic song....it brings to my memory when my grandma, brother and dad lived...I thank you!!!. Favourite and shared...Regards, Sergio.
My mother who passed November 7th,2007 at 83 used to play Moon River on the piano. I was looking for ecards to send out yesterday and found this on one of them.Even at 57 , I will always love you Mom, miss you
beautiful arrangement.....timeless...I've been a club dance music dj for 36 years and still play every Fri Sat Sun of hard electro house music..so you can imagin how my fans reply when I post this music on my wall...they just don't get it...and thats ok.....no matter what you succeed in, in life...you must first have a soul....a foundation of calm clarity.....this does that for me...after a weekend of mayhem, I come back to this......thank you the Faith extended family...
That is so true, very cool of you. I was a Heavy Metal drummer for many years and just love this as well as many other beautiful works that contain timeless melodies.Stay real!
When my wife and I were dating, this song was popular and it is "our song". We danced to it at our wedding and play it each year on our anniverary. When we hear it on the radio, it brings back many happy memories. We have been married for 49 years.
Percy Faith was someone I always admired growing up. His version of "Moon River" is very lovely and the strings soar as usual. A timeless song arranged by a timeless arranger. Great job!
I could stay listening this the whole night,,,,,,,i could have an exam tomorrow and keep on listening this,,,,life is more than a silly good note....this song, thats life))
heard this song when i was grade six ( 1962 ) yet until nowr it never passed on my mind not to hum it especially it carries with it some sentimental memories..
A sentimental favorite of mine and many others. he was a great man to bring all these talented musicians together and record these songs. Thanks Percy.. you meant so much to so many.
It has the innocence of the music to the original Charlie and the chocolate factory. rememeber those - "come with me, and we'll be,... in a worrrrld of pure imagination"
This music reminds me of summer camp, a simpler and more innocent time in my life. When my personal heroes were guys like Mickey Mantle, Nellie Fox, Stan Musial and Roger Maris. Before the Beatles, before Vietnam, before the assassinations and all of the other craziness that took place during the latter half of the 1960's.
this tune was played in the movie "born on the 4th of July" during the "prom" sceen. this melody is for the Ages..................God Bless all who lost their lives in the Vietnam War.
my dad many years ago used to play this on his harmonica to all us kids.many times it was a soft summer night sailing along in the dark with just a faint red light glowing on us from the compass and navagation lights.thanks for the warm memory dad i'll never forget...god bless you,we all love you
I'm only 32, but I have love this song since I was 16. It's amazing how timeless and innocent it is. I think I will ALWAYS love this song. Thank you for posting!
Timeless, his music set the standard for many other orchestra's. I remember playing my grandparents LP's while visiting on the weekends, this music takes me back to the mid 60's all over again, thanks for posting this classic !!!!
This evokes the fantasies that once danced in my head as a little girl when I would look at movies with some of the most beautiful, glamorous movie stars and handsome prince charmings that would triumph in the end... and love was..... beautiful.... but when this ends it will be 2009 again
I too was a young kid....about four yrs old and also remember my dad playing this on the Hi-Fi he built himself. It had a 16" woofer. Lots of bass. He played it loud and never did a neighbor complain. Of course, we had the neighbors and lots of family over for summer barbecues. I still can vision the parties. I miss my Dad terribly.

At the time, I really didn't know the meaning of music but learned well growing up in the 60's during all the changes America was going through....God Bless and Merry Christmas

opera to metal. Only one who is not honest
