  • I never knew the George Jackson that these people describe. All this BS about exploiter of inmates is nothing but bull shit. Comrade was a good,, loving, and kind brother, and anything he had, from his typewriter, commerersary, cigarettes he would share with a brother ("the people"). All of us had many write ups because they always harassed you about something. The last time I saw him was at SQ's east gate. He was a real Brother and all of us loved him. RIP

  • Some say a hit was placed on Carr due to him allegedly being an agent and others thinking he was responsible for the murder of Black Panther Fred Bennett (another close friend and confident of George Jackson).

  • We can do without a lot of speculation about things that you couldn't possibly know. That is the same kind of MESS that got a lot of brothers killed back in the day. We will respect and appreciate you for any truth that you know rather than a lot of speculation and character assassination, If you wasn't in the Bay Area cadre it is not likely that you would really know a lot about what was going on there. Rumor mongering can still be lethal today. We have to resist the temptation to do that!

  • I must say it's a coincidence that George's friend, James Carr, died within the next year (1972). It's also a coincidence that they ended up serving time together in the same prisons; from Tracy to San Quentin.

  • what is it u r trying to say that carr was working against him

  • You misunderstood my comment as that isn't what I meant. It were as if they were meant to be inseparable as close friends; considering they would serve time together in the same prisons over the years. It may have been simply coincidence as well. Although eventually James Carr had been released, they remained in contact.

  • @Chazz00 In my opinion, James Carr was nothing more than George Jackson’s closest confident and friend in prison. He contributed nothing to the movement. His autobiography “Bad” is his life story about being a harden thug and criminal who was able to beat the system and was eventually released from prison. And I guess, even luckier for Carr, was him being able to con, err fall for a Jewish girl whose family were activists who worked closely with Black revolutionaries.
