  • Where is Part 2? I was looking for a good sound bite on moral hazard and the FDIC (concluding with ..."consumers would shop around for balance sheets..."). I think this is the stumping where you covered that topic...

  • In retrospect it's hard to believe that insanity happened.

  • Peter trying to shift gears into the Senate....

  • watch?v=73vVEY8zNCE - Schiff is a NEOCON!!! He wants to bomb Iran! Don't support him!!!

  • Well, of course, it's not like the Khazari banker-owned media will bother to explain to you how their masters are screwing you.

  • watch?v=73vVEY8zNCE - Schiff is a NEOCON!!! He wants to bomb Iran! Don't support him!!!

  • Do you have any evidence for your outrageous claim? Schiff has consistently been against US military deployment in and occupation of other countries and foreign entanglements. Considering you have posted the exact same bullshit over and over, I will have to conclude you are either retarded or, more likely, in the employ of one of his competitors for the Senate seat. Or maybe you're just jealous because he's got more gold than you.

  • @NoisemakerArrow He's taking his talking point from Kurt Nimmo. Those idiots don't realize he has to pander to the McCain&Palin sheep during the election on at least a few issues if he wants to get elected TO THE US SENATE.

    watch?v=P9t741ewbGA

  • Also its funny to note how every country that you noted spend less, then the US government. Maybe if the US government tried spending less they would have better results

  • Look at Singapore who private sector is their health-care per capita and has the best system in the world. It controls costs and delivers equals results to France. It is the model I believe all system will follow as even in 2020 Norway project expense on health care is unsustainable.

Norway would have to grow double digit in 2020 to make up for the rising costs. Same in France and elsewhere. Singapore is the only country to fight off costs of health care, go learn about their system

  • Yes I can, socialized medicine doesn't work by itself. It cant self-sustain its self. It will always be dependent on the economy, and Norway and France spend less on health-care the the US, have higher rates of interest, lower unemployment and have strong currencies maybe we should follow you're example and spend less and have higher rates then 0% and stronger currency. So again thank to you're finance minister behaving economically so they can enjoy health-care, it isn't free it never has.

  • @vre655u Those systems still function because of our cheap doctors going over, helping temporarily. One day they will flee from the west too. This system is fundamentally flawed in it's principles. What are you going to say once the doctors go to China?

  • I would love to have been there.

  • watch?v=73vVEY8zNCE - Schiff is a NEOCON!!! He wants to bomb Iran! Don't support him!!!

  • @vre655u the only reason your system works in norway is because of the oil money. Here in hungary it's a disaster.

  • @vre655u You say that it's the most costly as if it's a bad thing. We don't have to wait long to see a doctor, and we can see any doctor. We can have multiple tests, second opinions, and our elderly get taken care of as well. When something costs more it's usually because it is better, not worse. Mercedes cost more than Kias because Mercedes are better. Another thing is, our government isn't going to be giving away insurance, the US Govt is broke.

  • the problem is the government is not going to pay the doctors much money, and the docs will quit. Right now doctors can choose which insurance companies they will work with based on how much they pay. If there is only one payer, the govt, the govt can pay whatever price they want, which will be low.

  • I hope the bill passes so the insurance compnies go broe, then we can have government run single payer health insurance like most respectable countries.

  • watch?v=73vVEY8zNCE - Schiff is a NEOCON!!! He wants to bomb Iran! Don't support him!!!

  • look at Singapore to get my point. A much more market based government option you would detest but doesn't face the costs of any European nation any north American and delivers the same results. Why did American not complain about health care in the 60, 50s, 40,s even the thirties, they had a very strong dollar backed by gold which meant health care was inexpensive and out of pocket, simple as that.

  • Inflation is everyones' enemy. Spot on observation bl782. The closer we get to nationalized healthcare (paid for by a govt that is broke) the more the govt will create further inflation to finance it. This is a disaster and inflation is the enemy to every american.

  • No, inflation is not the enemy of the superrich. It is their friend and tool against the rest of us. Inflation is how they transfer everything we have to themselves, including our freedom.

  • The US economy is not recovering their market is going up despite no recovery & that can hurt when you don't have the rise in wage increases with it or from the loss of value in the dollar. We our the largest debtor on the planet, do you really want pay for our health care when they ask for the 700 billion to start it since they have no national savings or surpluses. However, how do you know their isn't a more efficient system,

  • Yes, and I didn't say vre65u it cant work its just structurally flawed, do you even know if the govt runs a loss, and how in a prolong recessions socialized medicine cannot work. You need tools, equipment to administer health care and if tax revenues fall for a extended period then that health care always becomes rationed because there is no one else there to deliver it. That's what happened in the great depression....

  • That's also why I said you have it thanks to a couple of finance ministers in your Central Bank who run a tight ship, higher interest rate ect. You need jobs, savings, capital, so taxation can pay for health care.

  • Why don't you just sign your life over to hte gov't while you're at. Don't you understand that whatever gov't is a disease and everything it involves itself in gets infected. U.S constitution was written to constrain the power & force of gov't and to protect our civil liberties

  • Look at Singapore government they spend very little per capita, actually their private sector makes up the most of their health care spending and delivers the best community health results in the world. If the US has one problem it should cut spending has other governments have, even France spend less then the US gov't.

  • The thing is that everyone is focusing on the cure, but nobody is looking at the causes of why Health Care is so expensive. The cause is in your food!!! Americans eat too much garbage that causes heart attacks, diabetes, strokes, cancer... all very expensive illneses. Throwing money at it won´t solve it. People need to change their eating habits and that is like telling a drug addict to get off cocaine cold turkey. Imagine telling an american to stop drinking coke or eating pizza... Good luck!

  • Dumb ass the US government spends more on health care, more then anyone else. How can one have capitalist health care or free market based health care with government subsidy like that and what makes this subsidy worse is that corporations and not government manage it. Healthcare should not be so expensive. It's the biggest recession since the Great Depression. How could prices go up? Yet prices did, for 16 major countries experienced annualized average growth. 16/16 A failure of socialism?

  • I live all the way in Los Angeles and all my support is going to this man right here...he's right...he has alot of young supporters. No other politician has been brutally honest as this guy.

-"Rather than the recession being resisted, it should be embraced"......

what other politician would dare say this.

We do need this recession to right what was wrong!!

  • watch?v=73vVEY8zNCE - Schiff is a NEOCON!!! He wants to bomb Iran! Don't support him!!!

  • @vinteren78 Also we don't have the option to buy medications through our insurance from foreign countries like Europe because the "FDA" hasn't approved them. So there is no global competition for the few pharmaceutical companies we have here. Another thing, I strongly believe the US government is corrupt and in bed with big business. I don't know how you feel about your government, but our's has shown through its history how corrupt it is. The few social programs we have are already broke.

  • watch?v=73vVEY8zNCE - Schiff is a NEOCON!!! He wants to bomb Iran! Don't support him!!!

  • @vinteren78 Because the economics are off. The government has no incentive to compete with anything. If costs are controlled so are doctor's pay, medicine quality, innovative technologies, etc. In the USA even though we are "free trade", we can't buy our plans over state lines. In VA I have to buy my plan here I can't buy from NC. There's no national or even international competition for our companies. That's why it's so damn expensive here compared to the rest of the world.

  • watch?v=73vVEY8zNCE - Schiff is a NEOCON!!! He wants to bomb Iran! Don't support him!!!

  • From West Coast to East, support Peter Schiff.

  • watch?v=73vVEY8zNCE - Schiff is a NEOCON!!! He wants to bomb Iran! Don't support him!!!

  • Tough you have to understand why it's so expensive, why those insurance companies make so much money.

Everyone must have health-care insurance, and most often there's no shopping around to get the best bang for the buck, you're stuck with whatever someone (e.g. employer) hands to you basically - insurance companies win

Etc. Etc. Basically Government makes money for private companies = fail

Now I'd prob pick any european health-care model over the current US, but that doesn't say to much.

  • Mexico Credit Rating Cut by Fitch

They got the wrong country it should be the USA

  • watch?v=73vVEY8zNCE - Schiff is a NEOCON!!! He wants to bomb Iran! Don't support him!!!

  • Schiff is starting to show himself as a great politician here. Great explanations for the probable attacks he will face in the coming months.

  • watch?v=73vVEY8zNCE - Schiff is a NEOCON!!! He wants to bomb Iran! Don't support him!!!

  • Take the PROFIT OUT of taking care of AMERICANS health. Sorry but making a profit off our health SHOULD be a CRIME. Its not a solution to continue to allow health insurance companies to continue to make OBSCENE PROFITS. Peter, do you actually think that we can continue to allow our health services in America to be held hostage? exploited? made insane profits from? This is not the answer. HEALTH CARE FOR ALL AMERICANS PERIOD. health care needs to be a RIGHT.

  • Who is going to PAY for it? The government is broke. It's not a solution to socialize 1/20th of the American economy & turn health care over to a government that can't even distribute the swine flu vaccine & broke the health care system in the first place. Economics 101, please go take the course before offering your opinion on the distribution of goods & services.

Health care is a service that is provided by another persons time & labor. You do not have a right to another persons time & labor.

  • You don't even have a CLUE what a MOUNTAIN OF CASH the health insurance companies have made do you? You are totally CLUELESS at the BILLIONS AND BILLIONS and how their PROFITS have SKYROCKETED. And for doing what? nothing more than turning health care into a huge paperwork process that pays THEM BILLIONS. You can buy a lap top computer for 100 bucks but cant have a doctor "talk" to you for 5 min for less than $300 because of INSURANCE COMPANIES PROFIT. "pay for it with the money they make!"

  • Making money isn't the problem, the government virtually making money for those companies is.

Everyone has to have insurance (Libs: oh that's not f*cking the free-market up the ass and making money for insurance companies, no we have such a free market that we need to kill)

no police/law there to stop these companies from making fraudulent deals (Libs: oh no police/law has nothing to do with it, it's the free-market's fault)

    Etc.

  • I do have a CLUE how much money the insurance companies are making right now & your government savior is in their back pockets. You can buy a laptop computer for $100 because the laptop has been developed, made & distributed by the free market with very little government involvement & regulation. The insurance companies WANT big government because it protects their cartel from open competition in the market place & forces you to buy insurance from them. It is called corporatism or soft-fascism.

  • Like I said get educated on economics. Start by reading Economics in One Lesson by Hazlitt.

The problem with the health care system & why it is so expensive is due to government guarantees & the lack of price mobility due to government price controls. If you want to lower the cost & stick it to the insurance corporations you must 1st allow open competition & make their profit dependent on how well they serve the public's needs & not on how many politicians they have in their back pocket.

  • wrong. the problem is not due to government is due to eating habits. Read The China Study, and watch Food Inc. to get educated on why children as young as 3 years old are suffering from Diabetes. If everyone in the US ate right, health care would be extremely cheap because there would be no expensive procedures such as open heart surgeries, cancer treatment, etc. But tell that to the doctors or pharm companies. The US is rotten from the inside, move out to europe or canada before it is too late.

  • The food epidemic begins with the government subsities. The government gives a lot of money to farmers to grow high sucrose and fructose food products. These unhealthy foods becomes extremely cheap and is the purchase of preference by the poor. Thats why all the poor people are so fat, because the only food they can afford are the high fructose and sucrose products. I am actually from China, people eat more healthy because junk food cost more than healthy vegitables.

  • exactly right. Corn is dirt cheap in the USA and it goes into everything! Cows eat it imagine! Cows are supposed to eat grass not corn!! it goes into Coke, pigs eat it, chicken eat it... and all thanks to american subsidies. Asia has much lower rates of cancer and diabetes than the USA because you eat the right food there. Very little animal protein, and high intake of vegetables. America´s economy and society are doomed. The chinese need to decouple from the USA or else you will go with them.

  • can you imagine Linda McMahon debating this guy? she would get absolutely murdered. I know Schiff is gonna win. It was a smart decision to glide under the radar. Keep campaigning hard.

  • I can almost guarantee, that no health care system is perfect, health care inst free and no economy no matter where they are, can not run a loss indefinitely during a downturn, if the downturn is prolong, then socialized medicine can not work as it did not work during the great depression. So really you have your health care thanks to a handful of finance ministers who probably run a tight ship and dont have the costs of the luxury of 730 bases and international reserves status

  • I agree 99% with what Peter has to say.

The only thing that dismays me about him is, he never distinguishes between Government and the Federal Reserve.

According to Peter, the Fed is just another arm of the government, whereas it is actually a 'PRIVATE' STAND-ALONE BANKING ENTITY.

A PRIVATE institution which for almost 100 years has possessed a license to do whatever it wishes, to whomever it wishes.

Right or Wrong, without a single iota of government oversight.

Come on Peter spit it out!

  • Peter has talked on this issue pretty clearly. Peter unlike Paul would accept a 1921-22 fed or a Paul Volcker. His ultimate wish is to allow the market to set interest rates like Ron Paul. In Peter Schiffs mind taking that ability away from the fed to set rates and give it to government, is not any better, and may be worse. Lincon civil war, using cheap low interest FIAT money, I bet the average yankee life was fraught with higher prices during the civil war then the confederates who...

  • had lower prices, also as peter points out printing money can work in the sense damage is mitigated if it doesn't outweigh the country assets like exports and as productivity is high. Which it was in Lincoln era so they could afford their policies then. Until Ron Paul is elected, how would giving an unchanged democratic majority the ability to set rates be any different from the FED. secretly I think this is PS and RP wish, as we could get the collapse thoroughly, runs it course; go from there

  • By letting the market control rates, you would have competing currency's and standards and competing rates, people when growing up would educate themselves, on this aspect of financial sense. In all reality all Ron and Peter want is to get rid of the monopoly of control over our money. Simply trading one monopoly FED for another Government is not their solutions.....

  • So our monetary system would still be privately controlled by a few individuals that would be forced to compete and behave in fear a rising upstart will take that control. The only problem with a few controlling anything is if they have been safeguarded that trust, or bought of the regulators. You must allow risk into their lives, if their ever to behave responsibly otherwise its all playing with others lives and money. As example look a the tech companies that are too big too fail....

  • Last comment to Finnish up as example the Tech Sector has companies like any sector that are to big to fail supposedly I hate that phrase but why did Microsoft become too big too fail, it wasn't because the govt was intervening and giving subsidy to the sector, they became big on their own they delivered a product more competitively then others for years, and the market will see them gone one day and someone else with a better profits, products, will take over.

  • Yep, most candidates pretty much need to introduce them selves when running for office.

  • F*ckin' Classic Line!, "Anyway, I'm Peter Schiff, and I'm running for US Senate."

  • The House plan is WORSE because it makes it more likely that people will be forced to buy insurance. It is virtually a massive tax increase on millions of Americans who can't afford it. In a supposedly free country, the govt. has no right to force people to buy insurance under threat of heavy fines or imprisonment.

  • Yes if your against command economy and their effects, take rising tutions there are two ways that we can go, stop student loans, prices collapse. Raise student loans, yet take direct control over the universities make cuts, price and wage controls, which would work in sheer amount of controlling costs but will stifle growth. House Plan is better in controlling costs but in terms of morality and how a human will reacts a very bad idea.

  • Senate version however sucks at controlling costs but doesn't go the step as the house does as Peter Points out if I can opt out at 75$ max 750$ first year why not, So morally its still wrong but it allows you a choice. Depending on your point of view
