and...dont forget lungmustards innovations that forever changed the way bmx was filmed. I'm roughly the same age as these guys, and while they helped shape my childhood, only later did I realize how they helped shape my life. for that, I owe sincere thanks.
kevin should seriously be the most recognized name in bmx, yet he remains the most private and enigmatic, and presumably by choice. but he pretty much invented it all, and any kid riding today owes this man everything.
kevin jones aka the air jordan of bmx flatland. he changed the game BIG TIME. why air jordan? well before jordan there were short shorts afros, and tight jerseys. when jordan came into the nba he wore baggy shorts, god chain and sneakers that were banned from the league. here comes kevin jones no GT uniform, shorts t-shirts, and an array of flatland tricks that till this day influence todays flatland riders. thanks you kevin. aka jordan of flatland.
@element180gmail he and the rest of them did. they took the blocks out of a coaster brake and voila. and he also invented pretty much every staple trick on a bmx.
ALL YOU KNEW jacks LEARN FROM THE OLD SCHOOL KEVIN JONES. I BEEN RIDING SINCE 83 I DARE ANYBODY TO CHALLENGE ME IN THE HISTORY OF FLATLAND AND U WILL GET TOASTED. YOU YOUNG KIDS DONT KNOW SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT KEVIN JONES FOR EVER!!!!!!!!!!!! U YOUNG CATS KNOW THESE SPINNING TRICKS BECAUSE OF HIM SUCKAZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had a video from a friend, of Kevin Jones. It blew me away. I still remember he was riding to Pinball Wizard. The friend had personally rode with Bill Newman-- another flawless rider, around the time of Dennis McCoy, that went somewhat unrecognized.
All in all, it makes me miss those days, of seeking out tennis courts and parking lots, and where ever else we might ride!
Roughly a day ago, some friends and were chatting in a Ventrilo server. Prowess became a topic, and while I will conceed few can match me online or in the Graffiti scene, when someone not associated with BMX mistakenly claimed me to be the best rider - I had to mention Kev's name. They had no idea who he was, or why I considered him worth mentioning, so I found this clip on YouTube. Then, it occured to me that others who know me, should also know of Kevin Jones, so I'm featuring it for now.
slightly before my time but i have nothing for respect for the legend. I heard he was messing with a sunday model c 24" too. this stuff just blows my mind as much as any new stuff out there.
Kevin Jones from York Pa I had the pleasure of watching Kevin ride back in the 80s he was a superstar to all of us BMX guys. Kevin is still riding. I will never forget Kevin at "The PIT" or at "The Thunderdome". It actually didnt matter what Kevin did he was great I once went to his house with a friend and we were breakdancing in I think his garage had a big piece of Cardboard and Kevin was amazing at Breakdancing I couldnt believe it. Cardboard Loards. Kevin Jones and Mark Eaton are Legends!!

How on earth Kevin Jones has not made it big time from what he has done remains a big mystery.
