  • a bit tragic for the little fish... but nice nice video and marvellous wild cat

  • Ahhh cute video, We might get one (my dad loves them) but I don't know what they eat now I know!!!!!

  • hahaha so cute :)

  • wow i never saw a "serval" before its pretty cool

  • god, I loved when he looked up with the fish sticking out of his mouth!

  • Must have been funny watching them catch Koi. Servals are one of my favorite cats. They're so pretty! I love when the peacock(?) chirps and gets his attention. XD So cute!

  • Is that a hyena? Can't spell sorry

  • Fish: 'oohhh shi--!' *NOM!*

  • did that serval just squish and stomp that first fish to death?LOL poor fishy got squished!

  • We have a cat named Kyo who is part Maine Coon. He loved to eat these huge guppies that we get him. Although once you give one to him he gets quite agressive to both other cats and also us! Lol but anyways this serval is too adorable and seems to enjoy fishing a lot! Great job with his enrichment play!!!

  • did you see it stop and look around with the fish hanging out of its mouth?! SO CUTE!

  • that kitty is awesome and smart!!

  • it forgot to place an orange portal.

  • that bird sounds like the snipe of up

  • Where did u get your serval? I have been looking for one and cant find one anywhere.

  • om nom nom <3

  • yeah they cost like 12 cents each at Petco

  • omg its the bird from up in the background!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 0:37 - What? Do I have something on my face?

  • that 1st fish was very desperate to get away! jumped out the water :o

yet it couldnt escape a fish net...

  • I know servals love this kind of shrimp these jumbo shrimp forgot the name of them

  • can i do this with my regular house cats? lol, looks like a great activity they will enjoy

  • I was rofl when those bird things started "talking" LOL!They sound just like Kevin from UP!That serval is gorgeous!

  • she's good!

  • the cat is left handed :D

  • the cat is left handed lol

  • That is no cat peoplee, its like some sort of tiger/leopard i know its called a "serval" but not alot of people really know what exact that is, so just putting it out there, its not your average cat

  • @AlyssaShotgun "Teshi, a serval (wild feline from Africa), ..." - Upload information. I won't be mean and go on about the obvious here, but I will argue that a serval is in fact a cat. :)

  • So cute! Thats a good idea to do this for, any cat.You will need a lower container for a house cat....

  • really cool animal, beautiful markings

  • Where can you get these cats?

  • @SteveRXMazda From a private breeder, but your will have to answer a ton of questions and fill out and application, and if the breeder thinks you can provide a suitable home, you will be placed on the wait list. Most breeders will only have one litter per year, and usually have around 2 kittens per litter.

  • she or he is like me i like goldfish too! but in crackers

  • This is a good idea, give it a chance to hunt a little. Certainly will make for a happy cat.

  • that is one smart cat you got there! you should be proud!!

  • LOL dum peacocks. Some guy owns a herd on them by are school. There really loud.

  • OM NOM NOM NOM

  • oh how cute how he grabs the fish across the pool and up the wall how smart is that

  • these cats are so beautiful i wish i could have one as a pet . probably eat me but i'l still like to have one

  • what type of cat is dat?

  • haha 0:24 is like the zoo went mad

  • that pool is about 5 feet wide. shows u how big servals are... wow

  • Wildcatzoo, can you get a larger plastic pool? It would offer a better enrichmnent experience if the cat has to move more than 2 feet to catch the fish.

And for those saying this is sad. We have many pet godlfish/Koi and don't want to see them eaten by wild animals. But feeder fish are just that - food for animals that need live food. I do disagree with feeding it "pet fish" like Koi though. They are very intelligent fish and if raised in a pet environment, it is cruel to kill them...

  • aww thats well cute .... i dont know what your all complaining about ... cats/felions eat fish its natural ... i feed my kitten live fish its healthy for them

  • your serval is marvalous

  • very smart cat !!

  • He looks so happy with that fish tail sticking out of his mouth.

  • What a handsome and intelligent cat!

  • With domestic cats, females are easier to tame. Is it the same with servals/savannahs?

  • I'm not too certain on the answer to that because ive learned about servals more in the wild. Females are always the more placid and so most likely easiest to tame because they dont fight for territory like a male would.

but on another hand if you were to get a savannah a male would be a better choice. Due to a male F1 savannah being the tallest, wildest or most serval resembling of any type of savannah (male, female/ F1-F5) Also a male savannah is sterile and would not have accidental litters

  • also you wouldnt have to have them spayed which would be another cost of a female.ofcourse it would probably have to be an indoor cat that can play in the backyard like a dog rather than roaming around the neighbourhood and coming back. because like with the snake hiss. a savannah is wilder than other cats. and being the tallest of all cats it can probably harm another cat in the street as a male defending territory. so ive just argued the male/female differences (except what you asked) sorry

  • i know it was a fish lol it looked like its tongue was sticking out :P

  • I WANT ONE.

  • @tbmsnake unfortunately they arent just accesible like a domestic cat and if you wanted one you would have to have it for its entire life and it cannot be given to the pound or left astray.

I dont know why its legal to keep them in U.S. even with a need for a licence they arent like domestic cats lol.

i know. if you want one you should try a savannah cat i think its called. its a domestic/serval. and its just as good a hunter

  • I know of all this stuff, I'm still planning to get one. I just don't throw cats out anyway, I keep cats until they pass on and I think I'm gonna get a serval or savannah

  • oh ok sorry about what i said i just think its kind of upsetting when people choose wild servals over domestic cats, especially ones in animal shelters but seeing as people still get purebred kittens i dont mind that anymore. they would be quite dear i assume right? i havent even heard of them being owned anywhere around the world until recently =D

  • I'm a cat lover and I really feel I am able to handle one. All my pets have been raised from babies until death, I get attached animals.

  • Awesome. I wish you all the best on your serval finding journeys, and don't let the snake hiss get you off guard =D

  • poor fish

  • i call it the HUNTER!

  • at 00:42 it looks like she is sticking her tongue out

  • it's a fish wow your not smart

  • that serval is left handed. He can use both forepaws, but he is clearly more dexterous with his left one.

  • I was wonderind, i have a F3 Savannah would this be ok to let it eat a goldfish?

  • beautiful cat...... but it was kind of sad when you put the fish to their death

  • i think a trout would be best for a serval!!!

  • im gonna da a research project with some servals in a zoo, and i a thinking of providing live fish as enrichment.. is this a special kind of goldfish or do you know any other fish species which can be used? which is all healthy for the serval to consume..

  • Feeder fish, you can get them at any store that sells fish. We had someone donate some large koi once, the serval loved them, but that would be expensive!

  • What a beautiful cat! ;-)

  • you have servals and peafowl i have peafowl and i realy want a serval any advice on servals what do you feed him

  • I'm an animal lover. I love cats have had at least one in the house most of my life. Serval's are stunning felines, and definatly would enjoy this sort of hunt. Maybe you should try putting some rocks or something in for a more involved game.

I also keep several types of fish. I know how easy they are to breed, so having excess amounts can be a problem. lol.

As much as I understand how much the cat's enjoying himself, I can't help but feel a little bit sorry for the fish.

  • is this a ocelot? i've read they're bigger and on the way of dissapearing.Where is this shooting taking place? in Texas?

  • no, its a serval

  • dude, that cat has a beautiful pattern on it! awsome cat!

  • Poor fishies! LOL! But what fun for Teshie, to catch his/her own dinner! What a silly, with the fish hanging half out of his mouth!

Makes me want to drive up with a bag of goldfish for you guys! And I would LOVE to see the Fishing Cats, as well as the Manuls, they're so amazing!

Thanks for all your hard work, I'm glad you guys are there for the cats!

  • I heard peafowl calls!

  • No more fishies -- you eated them.

  • Good job kitty cat! He got them all! Gorgeous cat!

  • Peacocks calling in the background????

  • They are apparently genetically compatible with housecats, despite the difference in size, as they can mate with house cats and produce fertile offspring. The results of which are called Savannah cats. They are a little(!) bigger than a normal housecat, mainly by lankiness, and have incredible jumping power.

  • How well do these cats tend to get along with domestic house cats?

  • Like any cat, the feline ends up owning you, so you have to be an obedient human to have a happy cat. Servals are larger, so they can train you with a little more ooomph. This serval once lived with an individual, and it slept in her bed with her. Why? Because it wanted to.

  • What kind of fellow is it as a pet? I know it's not born as a pet, but,is it unpredictable or anyway dangerous?

  • This cat is not declawed.

  • i use to have a serval, these cats are so cool.i'll bet he cant hold the fish cause he's declawed.

  • it is interesting to see his technique...though he hasn't quite mastered it, lol.

  • he's not very good at fishing

  • in what countries are you allowed to have servals as pets?

  • at the Feline Conservation Center in Rosamond CA...
