  • homemade ftl lol

  • ouch thats a bad lifter tick

  • so you are running 20 psi on the stock turbo, with no intercooler and just meth? what temperature is your boosted air temp usually at?

  • Not sure what the hell that sound is when its injecting, but should NOT hear that. Is it tapped into a metal intake? It alsmost sounds like its hitting metal. Also I hope this isnt tapped before the turbo.

Also water/meth injection is NOT bad for your engine if installed properly and tuned. And yes it HAS to be tuned or else you will be running too rich and could cause engine wash in the cylinders. Its actually is very good for the engine. Think of steam cleaning your engine.

  • thumbs up for a DYI w/m injector. I have my 07 gti at APR stage 2+ and I would like to add one too. how do you work around the settings on the ecu? I'm gussing the timing has to change with the octain boost.

  • I don't care what you say, that is NOT a good sounding system.

But on the other hand, who the fuck cares, its working and thats what counts. More power to ya for having a little bit of initiative and ingenuity.

  • Is it clipped with the methanonal or just the injection?

  • @narutovskiba88 still not sure what you mean by clipped

  • @WaZzAp11010 u should go check it then because the methanonal injection is not really good for ur engine when is forcing boost out from the turbo :)

  • I dont know man, it doesnt sound right when its injecting.

  • @B4LLS4GN4 don't worry its fine. This video was two years ago, and the motor is still kicking.

  • u blown yer engine

  • @thomashandley how would that happen?

  • @WaZzAp11010 really but seriously this fucking bad for the engine

  • @narutovskiba88 how do you figure that? its a power adder. once the engine is hot, you inject water/methanol in. in doin so, the meth creates a flame front that helps ignite the diesel, and the combustion process vaporizes the water into steam. steam is a hellacious form of energy (nuclear reactors anyone?), and also helps cool EGTs which will protect the turbo. as long as you let the motor run for a minute to burn out the water vapor, all is good.

  • @WaZzAp11010 Water/Meth injection add more volume into the cylinders, therefore increasing compression..... Your running to much boost with the meth/water injection, your compression ratio is too high for that motor. You can hear it knocking as well.

  • @thomashandley Whatever dude it never worked your car went up in smoke...

  • thats seriously one of the sloppiest installs i've ever seen... wires every where, nasty exposure... geeze dude. clean that shit up and do it right...

  • @wreakhavok1 the first draft is always sloppy...

  • can you control the amount of water injected? you should only inject when you floor your car.

Also i heard you should mix it with a bit of oil which prevents corrosion.

    anyway great car

  • @lokifeatronin used a pressure switch

  • @lokifeatronin and thanks for the compliment!

  • @lokifeatronin

mixing OIL and WATER ... for corrosion ... omg ... how you do it ?? .

  • hey

i like your videos. thanks for uploading. I wonder if you actually get more hp with the water injection. why didnt you just get a water cooled intercooler?

  • @lokifeatronin yup, hopefully ill have some dyno comparisons up later on. Overall, there is an undeniable difference that you can feel. Highly recommend wm.

  • sloppppy

  • lifter tick?

  • Piece of shit. Way to ruin a nice car

  • @xcrazydx LOL, that piece of shit is pushing over 400 to the crank now.

  • Just remember Methanol is highly corrosive and generally requires a higher compression ratio to really make use of it.....

  • @croweater15 my cr is 10:5:1

  • @croweater15 This is why isn't a methano injection is water with methanol injection ;)

  • @tuneo Perfect for Turbocharger engines in summer....water is a good cooler for intakes :D

  • Your car is going to die. That sounds terrible, the wiring is terrible and it's GHETTO AS HELL. Are in injecting engine coolant into the thottle body? WTF IS GOING ON

  • That's a fucken ugly ass instal job!!!

  • your engine sounds horrid

  • can you show us if you exhaust white sweet smoke ? :)

  • 2 questions,

#1 where is your air/fuel ratio gauge, because without one your playing with danger.

#2, your loosing power if you are not using any engine managment system. Water/meth injection is useless without adding timing and leaning out the fuel. I dont car if your increasing boost because its doing nothing if your running no timing and are pig rich.

  • @evo9demon 1 question and 2 answers...

question : why are you so idiot????

    ok,lets procede...answer 1: you r rite

answer 2: its not useles on stock programing,if you have low octane fuel, its very helpful, even on stock tune!!

  • Ghetto job, ghetto results.

  • It would be more informative if you would go with your installation step by step. Many of us do not have the same technical background and yet we would like to be a part of this technology. Please start with the basics and few drawings first. Thank you

  • hey man great job i admire your initiative 2 take on a project like this i made my own front mound intercooler for my 08 gti from universal pipes and its been running great. but personally for $260 im going 2 go with the snow performance kit. just wanted 2 say keep up the great work and dont listen 2 all the morons talkin shit on ur comments

  • @luishandal thanks man, appreciate it

  • This maybe a stupid question but is it possible to use methanol on stock engines w/ just bolt-ons? If so are there and bad side-effects?

  • @Mulletboi86 yup, thats what I did. Just dont spray too much. our throttle bodies dont like too much of this stuff. Use the smallest about of spray; some companies say 3-4 gph nozzle, I suggest 1-2 gph. If your bone stock, go 1 gph definitely. If you have a conservative chip like APR, use a 1 gph nozzle. If you have giac or Uni, use a 2 gph. If you've got that revo stuff, u can use 2-3 gph depending on ur sps settings.

  • I have the AEM injection kit and has been sitting around my shelf for years on end, thanks for the reply!

  • Why in Gods name did you buy that Carbonio garbage, it is literally useless.

    Another thing.

I'd do some more research into your motor its junk.

I'm glad I got rid of my 06 2.0T FSI 6MT Passat, nice car but...

Not a big fan of bearing issues, terrible roller follower issues and cam issues.

It's another garbage motor from VW. These motors aren't 100K motors on a whole. I'd get rid of this car asap.

  • just a "?" but isnt this just a full devilSown Injection kit? I mean thats a DO 200PSI pump, A DO Pressure switch and relay, and what looks to be a DO nozzle. Whats homemade?

  • where did you find that hobbs??? adj pressure switch? i cant find it anywhere

  • i thought fsi taps becuase its basically the petrol version of diesels common rail technology

    comments?

  • do you need a tune or separate file for w/m injection?

  • I used it for mainly to cool my intake, not really as a race gas substitute, although the extra octane didn't hurt. Im running a 93 octane tune

  • Look people!!!! ITS NOT KNOCK!!!! the FSI direct injection engine just sounds like a damn diesel ok!!!!

and ManifestMikey....your FSi must be something else...because I have been working with these engines since Oct 05....and ALL of them make the same metallic click

  • THANK YOU! Lets see how long it takes people to realize this.

  • Actually. Yes we are talking very high injection pressure. But a lot of the valvetrain noise has been pin pointed to a rapid wear item. That metal clang he hears wether he wants to admit it or not, is his completely worn out cam follower for his fuel pump, it's toast. Almost all of them go bad before 40K miles. If he waits, he'll need a new cam.

  • @Nettikturbo,

this is true for the FSI owners, I too am going thru decision whether I should keep my GTI or let it go for another GTI (TSI) or a better one (Subaru or Mitsu) as i'm concerned of the camfollower wear issue. I am going for my 3rd visit for my regular checkup @30000km and I would probably have that piece replaced. Just sad VWoA or VWoC won't even do something about it for FSI owners.

  • How hard to install is it? can someone do it at home?

  • Its not really that hard, but It does take time. You have to be careful when you tap the throttle pipe. Its gotta be on a flat surface so you dont get boost leaks.

  • Thanks for the advise

  • Comment removed

  • Not bad. I'm about to put one in my car I just need a pump or an AC to DC converter. I would reccomend you not run methanol as it is corrosive. Try 100% alchohol instead and make sure the water you are using is distilled.

  • Epic Failllllll.. and your FSi is fuuucked, Tooooo Noisy! My FSi dosnt tap at all!

  • DIY FAIL... dont cut corners!

  • mmm sound like knocking...

  • Your engine has a very metallic tapping noise after your test drive. Was that normal?

  • Tht sound is FSI at work

  • HAHA!! so true...so true...

  • Can you really FEEL the difference!? :)

  • man, u kno how it is the first couple days you get a new mod hah
