There was a short film of White City that was released around the same time as the album. I have it on VHS. This is the bonus video at the end of that White City film.
I just learned this. I have that vhs since 85 and always loved this underated song. So I bought it on Itunes and the ablum version is sad. So I guess this version came with more time and development. The ablum version is sad and disorganized- this version= stellar.
I think this album is damn good but why it failed to impress the critics is beyond comprehension. The album is far much a biography novel as the title says. Its my top fav album.
Yeah, PHIL CHEN! He was pumpin' on this tune!!! Good call!! but this tune was recorded in 1985! This was from the "WHTE CITY: A NOVEL" sessions. Pete is quite the "networker".
At the end of White City Video.

Can still sing well enough, should be doing solo shows instead boring Who shows

Pete just can't sing this way anymore. Bummer. Old days triple threat singer, songwriter, player.

Great song, but the album version is completely different than this. I'd never heard this version before.

It was a bonus track on White City. But it was on the version I downloaded, I don't know if it was on the actual CD.

Wonder why Clem Burke was not considered for any of the Who`s post 1982 tours. He is a fantastic drummer.

I agree and I have asked the same question to myself-closest drummer to Moon. He had flair like Moon too.

It is dated.
Chaimster66 4 years ago
nope
fasima 4 years ago
So what if it is?
Not being dated isn't a guarantee of being any good.
Personally I'll take "dated" Pete Townshend over most any "new" artist, hands down.

Anyone know where else to find this version of the song?
The one on the "White City" remaster is a different version.
