if this by any chance was a male's doing, not that one would, ever, he'd get his ass sued in a matter of minutes, + have his utube account banned, + he'd be proclaimed a dirty swine by all women...
@Matrixgrl09 Hi there! I made this video a few months ago, and I feel like I've learned a little since then, so I understand that I sign "I" incorrectly in the video. Other than that, can you explain what else makes this Signed English and not ASL? What sentence structure would you use, or how would you sign this phrase? Thanks for your help!
@thfemale actually the whole sentence. I'm myself deaf and I grew up with both signed English (SEE) and ASL. With signed English (SEE), you sign every word which is what you did in the video. ASL has its own word order and syntax and varies greatly from the word order used in English. If they know English they should get the idea but if they are signing back in ASL the person signing SEE will more than likely not understand as easily.
@r4bbit82 I understand that ASL follows topic-comment structure, but I still have trouble grasping how to properly format sentences. How would you phrase the sentence? Would "abortion - you - were - not - me - glad" be more correct? Again, I understand this is one of my weak areas, so the more anyone can help me learn on this, the better. Thanks for your help! :D
I did this for my friends birthday yesterday =D

@thfemale In ASL, the sentence would be glossed, "Me happy you not abortion"

@jspenny , @thebobert5 - I've heard of SModcast, but never listened to it. Can you tell me what episode the sign for abortion was mentioned on?
thfemale 10 months ago 2
@thfemale It was episode 164, at around 11:40. I'm listening to it now and I just had to see what the sign looked like!

I was listening to Smodcast and i had to see how you sign for Abortion.

For reasons I can't adequately explain, I was googling "ASL abortion" and this was the second result.
Keep up the good work!

@BrockLiSoup I'm glad I wasn't the only one listening to SModcast and had to see it.

@BrockLiSoup Thanks! At least I know that if nothing else, at least I have this niche market covered. :)
