  • wow awesome takeoff, the GE 90 is a beast.

  • lovely video

what seat is this? cos i'm gonna be on that flight in august =]

    thanks =D

  • yeah when I was flying from london to vancouver on an air canada a330 (didn't get a 777 even though it was summer las year =S) we levelled of at 6000ft. for about 5 or 6 minutes before continuing...gave lots of time to see london..

  • I LOVE PLANES!!! ive only ever been on 2 planes ( to france and back) and on the way there i had a big plane and back i had a small plane ( sorry i dont know what they are called lol!!!) coming back we were above the clouds and it started raining, but when we got underneath the clouds it stopped!!! it was so weird not sure if it had just stopped rainig or if it was raining between the louds and not underneath ( dont know if this can happen???)

  • I know a pilot who does that route, he say's London is an amazing sight when landing, you go right over central London.

at 4 mins you see the new terminal 5 and at 4.50 you can see my HOUSE, SCHOOL and you go right over Windsor Castle!!!!!!!

  • I'm not a frequent flyer so I'm surprised by the contrast between low level rain clouds and the high altitude blue sky. really what a difference.

  • air canada is a really nice airline.

  • Airplanes are my life!!!!!!When I get older I'm going to be flying boeings,md11,airbus not as much.

  • Airplanes are my life too. I would like to fly Boeing 777-787 and Airbus :P

  • u sound like ur doing a testimonial incase the plane crashes!

  • I love that one

  • that looked really comfortable and smooth. I almost fell asleep watching

  • Awsome video!

  • deltaboy767, this is not MS flight simulator, so things are a little bit more complicated. Oh yah, I am certain the pilot of this aircraft is an "amateur" as you contend foom your thorough analysis: and I assume you are the foremost expert on GE90 thrust / mixture settings, and of course the SIDs at LHR - please indulge us laymen

  • I do not like flying either.

    Great video though.

Can someone tell me how planes keep a straight line when they land and take off please.

  • you dont know how planes keep a sraight line when they take off and land. thats REALLY sad. you should know. look it up on your own i will NOT bother with you.

  • I think the pilot needs to goo back to flying school, come on man seriously, I know i have decreasd thrust, once i have reached a certain altitude and set it to climb, but this guy keep increasing and decreasing, during climb out. If you set the thrust percent to climb you should be able to climb just fine. From a pilto's point i can tell he is an amateur with the 777-300.

  • Thanks for your opinion, I'm not a pilot (I wish I were one) so I don't know what to say though the flight was a really smooth one. You might be a pilot on a 767

  • And 777. You can get your qualification on both aircrafts, as the 67 77 are almost identical on the instruments.

  • I also think that the 757 is also identical to the 767 and consequently to the 777... The 757 is so far my favourite plane

  • deltaboy, these pilots are pros, they know more than u about thrust settings, that takeoff was completley normal, sometimes after takeoff depending wot the FMC calculates, the thrust is increased to climb, its not always decreased...the decrease at the end then increase is probably him leveling off for ATC...its heathrow m8, not every plain gets a nice straight climb...theres alot of traffic around

  • Oh believe me i am aware of traffic, especially climbing out of ATL, and i can assure you that once i set the thrust climb on the 777, it stays there even through ATC handoffs, It's not good to increase and decrease thrust on climb especially if your a heavy flight....

  • It sounds very much like he's levelling out, most likely at Fl70 which is what all flights out of Heathrow are cleared to initially. Whilst controller try to give planes a constant climb, it's often not possible, especially in busy airspace like around Heathrow. Since it starts to climb almost straight away, probably just a busy controller with other priorities than giving extra climb. Not exactly the end of the world. Likely get stopped again at Fl130 so as to stay under Compton Sector anyway.

  • Hi most traffic out of Heathrow are initially cleared to 6000ft which is the transition alt in the UK.

  • you dont know a thing

  • @deltaboy767 Possibly the throttling up and down my be to control the altitude as the pilot weaves his way through the traffic near the airport until he in the clear and on his route to the destination. I remember the same throttling up and down around Minneapolis, MN and Orange County in CA when I macro commuted to CA in 2004 and 2005.

  • I HATE FLYING!!!! :( yes I'm a chicken

  • Ahh there's nothing to it

  • i LOVE flying!!! the only thing that sort of bothers me is when a plane takes off, the pilot often turns the plane to the side and it looks like your looking straight down at the ground, but that doesnt scare me. and flying is the safest form of transportation, however, roller coasters are far safer than jets, cars, bikes, and sports. its true look it up! scientific studies show it.

  • Omg, am I just stoopid or what, but where is Toronto??? :-)

  • Toronto is in Canada in the province of Ontario

  • Given that a video camera, digital or otherwise, is not an approved electronic device on an aircraft below about 15,000 feet, how was this video taken without breaking international safety guidelines?

  • I hope this is just for humour

  • The Dreamliner will be out next year, barring any pregnant production pauses with ANA, Air Canada has 38 slated orders for the 787 with the first due for delivery in 2010, and later this year The Maple Leaf flyer gets the 777-200LR Worldliner, the current holder of the world record for 1 way distance (no airbus can hold that honor!)

  • Great video. Really enjoyed it. The 787 is still in the development stages.

  • What are your thoughts on the new aircraft?

  • I like the 777 and I did enjoy the flight though I was disappointed by the entertainment program since the selection (and the choice) was really limited from my point of view.

  • If you think the 777 is that good try the 787, its even better with more fuel efficiency, and more comfort...

  • Is the 787 already flying? I can't wait flying it
