The gameplay is different from Halo 3 in that it allows you to go sneak mode with the enemies which makes the game unique in its self way. Not to mention the characters are very likeable and relatable, also the story is very different from the halo's franchise So you can't say there the same game.

@max0678 I never heard of nuke-nades, but the Armor Lock ability is annoying. I miss running people over... You are right, they do add a challenge, and I always hated being in the middle of the map and getting picked off by a Warthog or a Ghost, Armor Lock helps repel those vehicle-hogs a little easier. But Reach, overall, is an amazing game, multiplayer wise, it had everything I was hoping it would have: Firefight and campaign in matchmaking, more armor, etc. Definitely a gem.

@ashleyco07 It was Tower of Power, but anyway you can play Halo 2 on PC, OR download diffeent servers onto the 360 like I did. I play Halo 2 more than Reach and you get to know just about every single person that plays Halo nowadays because there is so few of us that know of these things for some apparent reason.
@steven1098s - They're not going to take down halo3s online until microsoft wants to disable the online for the 360 completely, they same way they did with the xbox & halo 2. It's too big of a game to take down. There's still many more years of life left in it. They don't take down older games just cause there are newer versions out.
@steven1098s They didn't take off Halo 1 and Halo 2 to make us play Halo 3, they did that because they needed the servers for Halo 3 and Halo: Reach. That's also why Halo 3: ODST didn't have any online. That's ALSO why they gave the copyright privleages, and the engine for Halo: Reach (so that the game could look like Bungie's used to, and so that there could be online matchmaking).

This game could've been SOO MUCH BETTER!! What they could've done:
1. Make it so that it takes place in like 2542 or something
2. Make it so that there are more THAN ONE drop mission. (like one in the middle of the rain forest where you have to regroup with your team and like stealthily take out covies, I MEAN how cool would that have been???)

I think the reason there are so many ODST haters out there is because it was hard. You weren't an indestructible super soldier who could simply hide for a few seconds to regenerate health. Once your health was gone in ODST, it was gone until you found a health pack! This halo had the best gameplay. The only way it could be better is if it had assassinations like on reach. This was one of my favorite Halo games; great story, wide open enviornments and an ominous feeling that not even Reach would capture. I do agree though that this was a 60 dollar expansion pack, and should have been more around 30 dollars.
@tehAman Nope,this game was a big mistep on the entire franchise,basically because Bungie liked how much money it was getting off Halo 3 and released a stand alone game that really should have been DLC. Halo Reach was a big improvement and is my second favourite one of the franchise,behind halo 3,il never forget that last level of halo 3 when your on the mongose and the whole place is exploding. At that time I had never played a FPS and Halo is the only FPS series i like along with Bioshock.
@Menzies1996 It was originally supposed to be an expansion pack, but Microsoft made them jack the price to $60 bucks. For me, it was a place holder until Reach came out, and it had an amazing story-telling job, along with voice actors. It was unique.

It this game was priced at $30.00 then it would be considered an awesome game. We are all just pissed that we spent $60.00 on a 1/3 of a game... @MinimalZOMBEE It is similar in ways but very different in others. It's my least favourite Halo game, but I enjoyed it. The campaign is ok, but on a few missions you are just walking aimlessly around New Mombasa looking for clues in the dark which gets extremely boring and annoying. Firefight's good but is very hard! The multiplayer disk is great, it used to be pretty much the only disk in my 360, as I didn't, and still don't, have the Halo 3 DLC, which it has all of, saving me atleast 960 msp.
@MinimalZOMBEE In my opinion it's less colourful. It's more grim and stuff. It is good, but in parts you are in the dark wandering around New Mombasa. If you like Halo games, get it, it's good but it's not as good as the other ones. It's like a side story, set just before and during Halo 2, showing what was happening on Earth while Chief was away.
@watchmen715 They are two different games. ODST is a prequel to Halo 3. ... I'm not sure why it's called 'Halo 3:' ODST though... Probably because it uses the same engine... which is why a lot of people don't like it.

@tehAman Nope,this game was a big mistep on the entire franchise,basically because Bungie liked how much money it was getting off Halo 3 and released a stand alone game that really should have been DLC. Halo Reach was a big improvement and is my second favourite one of the franchise,behind halo 3,il never forget that last level of halo 3 when your on the mongose and the whole place is exploding. At that time I had never played a FPS and Halo is the only FPS series i like along with Bioshock.

@Menzies1996 It was originally supposed to be an expansion pack, but Microsoft made them jack the price to $60 bucks. For me, it was a place holder until Reach came out, and it had an amazing story-telling job, along with voice actors. It was unique.

It this game was priced at $30.00 then it would be considered an awesome game. We are all just pissed that we spent $60.00 on a 1/3 of a game... NO MATCHMAKING.....NO FORGE.....BARLY ANY EXPLORATION AFTER FINISHING THE GAME.. I still love this game just like any other halo game...but in my head it is an add on.

@MinimalZOMBEE It is similar in ways but very different in others. It's my least favourite Halo game, but I enjoyed it. The campaign is ok, but on a few missions you are just walking aimlessly around New Mombasa looking for clues in the dark which gets extremely boring and annoying. Firefight's good but is very hard! The multiplayer disk is great, it used to be pretty much the only disk in my 360, as I didn't, and still don't, have the Halo 3 DLC, which it has all of, saving me atleast 960 msp.

@MinimalZOMBEE In my opinion it's less colourful. It's more grim and stuff. It is good, but in parts you are in the dark wandering around New Mombasa. If you like Halo games, get it, it's good but it's not as good as the other ones. It's like a side story, set just before and during Halo 2, showing what was happening on Earth while Chief was away.

@watchmen715 They are two different games. ODST is a prequel to Halo 3. ... I'm not sure why it's called 'Halo 3:' ODST though... Probably because it uses the same engine... which is why a lot of people don't like it.
