  • These guys at 2:40 are just awesome with their cloaks and "Farewell of Slavianka" playing! Do these have a name?

  • @superadibas v zashitu rodini, there is a recording of it on youtube.

  • what is the name of the song starting at 7:24?...does enyone have it ?

  • 7:06 - 8:42 march "Leningrad" V.Runov.

  • starting with den pobedy?, so strange...

  • I agree the modern commentary sucks. Although in the 2007 parade they didn't have commentary at all. They had an announcer which was even better. But in the 2008 parade they had crappy commentary again. But even today the music played during marches is still the same as in USSR. You just can't hear it as well because of the commentary. Well at least Putin revived the ICBM's.

  • IMO the announcer does a good job of announcing. Its a bit different from TV commentary in the sense that you have to speak over the ambient noise of footsteps, rumbles, birds, etc.

Though on TV they should stick to a clear-cut Igor Kirillov (yes, name dropping, but he is awesome) style of being the human voice of the parade, rather than being an observer.

  • Also, the commentary isn't like the modern commentary---its not burdened by the fact that they are commercial network employees and their style. This commentary is single-minded/focussed only on the parade, like before 1991.

  • You can tell that even in 1995 they still had the old Soviet step, rhythm, music etc. Sometime after that it was forgotten. IMO the Russian authorities should bring the old parade organisers out of retirement, but obviously on some bonus or incentive---after all, the anthem was restored by the original creator.
