  • another good shot of life at sea on small boat in remote area, thanks for sharing.

im building a jordan drogue for my kingfisher 22 junk rig at mo, do you have any tips on where to get hold of 16 nylon double braid. i cant find it in the uk. got your book, and read it in 2 days, brill , i look forward to your next one. cheers

  • Contrary to the received wisdom, Jordan was against the use of nylon for the warp. The elasticity in the JSD is in the action of the cones rather than the warp. Nylon stretches and heats up while so doing, so gets progressively weaker. For the JSD I'm now building I'm using double braid polyester with a breaking strain of c.3340 KG - more than strong enough for the job.

  • PS 12mm double braid, that is (Marlow).

  • @junkming

thanks for that, and with out wanting to pester you, i wonder what joining method you are useing for bridle legs to main length. all the made ones seem to use just knots or loops with no thimbles to protect rope. cheers

  • This time I'll be using splices with ss thimbles. The risk of chafe is too great otherwise.

  • thanks.you confirm what i am thinking as well. hope your prep for the jester challenge is coming along ok

  • Another great video, thanks and keep them coming.
