  • LOL You are certifiably nuts .. Looks like you had way too much fun doing this ;)

  • @0623kaboom I am and I did)))))) Got woozy from fumes...good head rush.

  • My current setup is a Imusa 12cm with a BushBuddy Ultra, Windscreen, and a couple extra Esbits packed inside. Works Great! You still using your BB?

  • @cddenniston I still bring it on longer trips or when the muse strikes. Treasure it.

  • ahhhh.....all that stovey goodness !

i've just made a 2 gram stove, works well !

  • is this video the same as the first one?

  • @tritan1 No....it is a new one. Kept getting folks wanting some stove peeks.

  • this is a piece of history wow nice to see all the crazy goodies

    thanks for the fun show

  • @versonova Y'elcome....some now gone classics in there.

  • thanks shug

  • Hay Shug those stoves that have string on them is it just ordinary cotton string or is it some type of fiberglass string?

  • @BushcraftCanada It is a fiberglass wick....from minibulldesigndotcom

  • Just ordered a whitebox stove with a GSI kettle. Thanks for the video!1

  • @shhQuiet It is a fine and good stove. For sure.

  • ALL YOUR VIDS ARE FUN TO WATCH

  • @chinnmusic Appreciated))))

  • Prior to a few minutes ago, I thought I knew a little bit about stoves but in reality I'm nothin but a stovetard. Some really interesting and different concepts there and I know that was a lot of work to set up and light them all for the vid. We appreciate it Shug!

  • @Patriot36 I got woozy from the fumes....it was fun!

  • We love the shug!

  • @TheMattFrom1996 Shucks........."awkward foot shuffling here"....thanks.

  • I'm thinking of trying the Trangia. I'd like to try carrying all the fuel I'll need in the stove and avoid the measuring hassle but wondering how practical that really is. I know its going to be heavier than my mini atomic or fancee feast; are there any other issues you can think of? Will I be able to use my beer can pots or a small SnowPeak or will I have to go to a bigger pot?

Thanks for the many hours of entertaining vids!!

  • @OldePete Can get around 3 ounces in the Trangia. It works. Check for leaks though.

If I recall...it is pretty good with those pots. Maybe a slightly larger pot will work even better.

  • Ever tinkered with a Penny Stove 2.0 Shug? I've got a pair of them on the work bench right now, but I haven't gotten to fire them up yet. Curious how they fair in the backwoods.

  • @hikerfrost Made a penny stove and they work good. I am a lousy builder though!

  • do you use heet? The anti freze stuff?

  • @Lakesideforge I use HEET in the yellow bottle.

  • shug, do you ever use a stove that takes twigs? like a rocket stove.

  • @zekehooper I do....I use my BushBuddy when I go wood burner.

  • Shug: if you could only have one MBD stove which would you chose? Love your vids keep them coming!

  • @justroback The Elite #1....Mini-Atomic #2.

  • I don't think the pots had as much fun as I did, great video showing your stoves. Thanks!

  • @1IdeaAhead I and my stoves....and pots thank ye' for eyeballing.

  • Great video Shug! What fuel do you recommend using for your stoves?

  • @BQBME I use HEET in the yellow bottle or denatured alcohol. Some use grain alcohol.

  • @shugemery Thanks Shug! The "Heet" works great! keep up the great work on your videos!

  • Thats definably an armada of stoves! Never seen such. Wow! I need a stove! Thanks Shug.

  • @TheSchutes All those stoves and I only really use a few!

  • I love your stoves! I posted a video of one I've made. I usually use a Swiss volcano stove just because I can still use it when I'm out of alcohol, or any other fuel. My first choice is always a Dakota pit, which I also did a video on. Learned it studying American Indians.

  • @danman911 Right good.

  • Shug, we backpackers are addicted to gear aren't we. I have multiples of everything like you, backpacks, tents, stoves, trekking poles, shoes, you name it. My significant other doesn't understand. Every time I get something new she says, "But you already have one of those," to which I reply, "Yeah, but I don't have one like this." Then she walks away shaking her head.

  • @guyfihi I know that head shake!

  • Nice collection. Is that the first time you had them all burning at once? Enjoyable beginning and I liked the portrait...Timmy-Too

  • @mrriprock2 No....did it once before and will do it again. Outside next time!

Thanks on the painting Timmy-too. Just made Timmy a hammock to take back to N. Ireland. Christmas gift.

  • Another of the many "Worlds" of Shug! It's a scary place Shug Land....

  • @dmacken11 Horrors and thrills!

  • Shug...you were in my thoughts last night as the temp plunged to near 0 where I was camping out. so wished I had a mini stove for tea in the morning....decided to cook over an open fire but the stove would have been the right choice...All Those stoves do look like pieces of art... Smithsonian needs to see this video! Nice Touch!

  • @ihikearoundcom Yeah! I love a morning fire but to lazy and love a coffee from the hammy. Thanks for the report.

  • And he ends the show with a FOSTERS thrown at the camera.....LOL

  • @RDPproject well....dropped at the camera!

  • Thats alot of minibull stoves there Shug. Its a good thing you have such a big Mans Shed...lol

  • OH WOOOOW...!!!!!

At 0:27 ....all 5 of those vintage cars...I use to have them as a kid....all of them.

My fav was the one on the far left cos it looked most like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Geezz Shug. You have just brought back a ton of childhood memories....thank you.

  • @RDPproject Glad my Mom made me save them.

  • that little kid really needs to sort that cough out, its been like 3 weeks!

  • @Knight8365 I am also Toss-Potty)))))

  • hey shug! since you grew up in Charlotte, you ever go up and hike any of the shining rock wilderness areas? Beautiful up there. Nice parking area near black balsalm and the views are just amazing and great places to hang.

  • @justin22uga Never been there....on my bucket list though.

  • @justin22uga I really like the Shining Rock area.. very pretty. I don't go often tho b/c they say fires aren't allowed. Makes cold weather camping not as enjoyable. I'm still hoping to get out there late winter/early spring.

  • Another great video Shug! Thanks for the mention!

  • @end2endtrailsupply You betcha....love the Imusa pot. Even have a couple in reserve.

  • "Jets-on, your fired!"

  • @TribTrekker ....says Cosmo Spacely!

  • It becomes an addiction.

  • iam1uglyguy sent me over here. i got you subbed and i am looking forward to watching your vids. in your stove vid you make a comment about your hillbilly cook pot...lol nice to meet another hillbilly. :-)

  • @HillbillysNdaBush Hello from one to another.!

  • Fire, Hehe

  • @MrHatManS Fire flames fun for fans

  • Hi Shug. I have an old brass one you don't seem to have. Got it... uh... 35 years ago. I should show it to ya sometime. Rock on.

Jimbo from the Libby Conference Center.

  • @palletjack612 Hey Jimbo.......! I would like to eyeball that stove.

  • Ok, I'm 40 something, 2.5 kids, it's a Friday night and all I can think of is going out to my garage to work on my stove designs. Guys, what's wrong with us? That was rhetorical.

  • @0017Bulldog Better than watching the TV......

  • Nice now I want a VooDoo.

  • @SixtyAteOutdoors They are hard to find I imagine. Collectors piece for sure.

  • You have a very interesting Christmas video using the night shot of all those lit stoves. Slow it down and add some of your music with a Christmas theme and you'll have another hit.

  • @EconoChallenge A Yuletide Carol of the Stove. Idea!

  • LOL . Great collection .

  • @JasonMRamer1975 Thankee.....I love looking at them. Joy.

  • You truly are a stove aficionado, shug. I assume these are all woo-buddy approved?

  • @SomeRustySpoons They are all Whoooood.

  • Love the stoves...I'm making one : )

  • @KevinLizAndLife Cool....a cat stove?

  • @shugemery Don't no yet. going to look around the house and see what I have to work with.

  • that was a blast! thanks for the high paced review of all that cool (hot) gear

  • @WorldStove It was fun to visit with all them there stoves. Stove on Feller!

  • I am thinking you need the SST? and maybe the water jacketed stove to complete the collection.

  • @warecurtis I got the BF4...water cooled. Classic)))

  • @OutsideInOntario Still kinda like it!

  • The aluminum will give you Alzheimer's disease. It's the neti pot that'll kill ya.

  • @coolkayaker1 It least I'll never know I have it!

  • No wonder Tinny is doing so well. ;-)

  • @teche70 It is all me))))

  • You can never have enough stoves lol great vid

  • @2kargarage1 I think I do now!!!

  • Never knew there were so many of those little alcohol stoves.

  • @rigidpsycho Thankee!

  • Dang man, you got alot of pot! thanks for the vid.

  • @hitman3240 I am potty for sure.

  • shug I've watched most of your videos and I've got to say I didn't notice it was you at first in your ringmaster outfit. I had people come in to the room curious what was so funny I was laughing so hard once I figured out it was you

  • @shugemery thanks. Ebay didn't have it so I'll try Tinny.

  • @shugemery do you know if there is any other place I could get a duo stove?

  • @jreaper23 Contact Tinny...maybe ha has an old one. eBay too maybe.

  • Tinny doesn't sell the duo anymore does he?

  • @jreaper23 No...I think not.

  • Best opening ever.

  • Great video! Funny I had a bunch of my stoves going at once last night. It's not even winter yet & cabin fever is starting. Check eBay for Fosters pots.

  • It appears the addict in us can never have too many stoves eh?...haha! Glad you didn't drop any pots :o)

  • @Ggreenvideos I am a pot tosser and dropper too!

  • Hey Shug, do you use an alcohol stove on your winter trips for snow melting ( or use whitegas or something else for that)?

  • @condyeckerle Naw..here in Minnesota I use my MSR Whisperlite. I use a an alcohol stove for breakfast from the hammock only.

  • wow man, pretty stoney video!

  • @chitlinray Not rocky or bouldery?

  • Thanks for the video Shug...enjoyment each and every time!

  • @capnlost I sure appreciate that.

  • Another great 1 Shug! I have stove envy now.

  • @MrBabelfish5 Oh....you should....you should.

  • I really like cat stoves for a tea break on the trail. I see now that my entry into alky stoves is apparently the beginning of an addiction.

  • @hoosierarcher I am pretty done with stoves...so the addiction does come to a good end. Now I am into socks.....

  • @shugemery I have been a sock junkie for 4 decades. I am always jonesing for a new pair of merino wool or even silk liner socks. I almost had a Kaniption fit when Les Stroud said,"That's why you always wear cotton socks." after scraping the inside of his sock for lint to hit with a spark for a fire. Wear wool socks, silk liners and carry a FAK with cotton swabs in it and then use that cotton to start a fire. Nez Pas?

  • When I saw all these al.Stoves burning One safety question poped up in my head ..I've heard that its dangerous to use such alcohol stoves in closed areas (house ,tent) because the Denatured alcohol produces a lot of C02 (in the best case) and very posisonous gases in worse situations (when its cheap and counterfeit)..What do you think ,Shuh..?

  • @vek0zzzz I stumbled and mumbled and was woozy as a doozy...loved it!

OK...kidding. Had all the doors open and a sucking fan on. I only act crazy.

  • I really want to make a foster pot, but I cannot seem to find the right safety can opener? Wasted good money as opposed to all that bad money I have, on the openers that didn't work, even after my alterations! I think there was a question in there some where Shug?

  • @Mrlnwizard8 Gotta get a side style can opener....

  • @Mrlnwizard8 If you can't find the right side opening safety cutter, you can use a mill file. Hold the file at an angle so it just touches the upper and outer edge of the can and file all around evenly until the lid separates. Works on any size beer or pop can.

  • Just great!! Thanks. Appreciate all the examples, very helpful.

  • @btsseeker Yeah Feller.

  • more ringmaster/barker!!! that was hilarious.

  • @itsalexclark Haaaa...love too. Thankee

  • would you be willing to sell your discontinued full-size fosterpot...to a full-sized person?

  • @TheTonyjara Sorry Feller....I just gotta keep it for the Museum.

  • Nice stuff. Stovies rule!!!

  • @ridebks Whoooo Buddyyyyy

  • Some guys collect pocket knives, guitars, baseball cards, but I've got to say you have one of the finest collection of alchy stoves around : )

Loved seeing them all lit up & showing their glory. I bet it warmed that room right up.

Thanks for the tour, mighty fine video brother Shug!

  • @CampfireTalk I'll tell ya'...the room got hot fast. It was a beautiful thing to behold ...and smell.

  • Why the bit of wicking around the Hillbilly pot? I'm a nosey old coot, ain't I?

  • @GrampaMikeOC It was for setting it in a Caldera Cone. Just left it on to add to the Hillbilly look.

  • LOL wow, someone's got a bug when it comes to backpacking stoves.

  • @Cphobes I find them cheap fun and it replaces my drinking.

  • Shug you should check out smokeeater908 stoves and channel.

    -nick

  • @2kargarage1 I have...but I got all the stoves I'll ever need. Trying to perfect my skills with what I got.

  • So you might say this was a Primer on Priming stoves and what not. Yup, I said it.

  • @huguenot67 You did say it. Thanks.

  • that was just cool seeing all of the stoves lit at the same time.. Kinda like Christmas lights backpacking style.

  • @Popeye1117 Fun for me...the room got HOT))))

  • a bit of minibull favoritism ;)

  • @BCoutdoorsurvival Yes! He was the first stove guy I found online when I started.

  • Great info + some entertainment =learned lessons and useful video.I prefer to keep it simple ..Gourmet cat food stove FTW :) Thank you ,Shug.

  • @vek0zzzz Simple....good. And cheap and light.

  • Shug of all the stove videos I watch your voice is the only one that draws the kids in to watch with me. I always here is that the crazy one dad? And sure enough they are standing over my shoulder saying start it over dad I want to see.

    Thanks for all the entertainment.

  • @digitizer101 I love it!!!!

  • @xdmatt1320 I am here to support you.

  • Shug, have you tried any of the Canister Stoves (JETBOIL, MSR, etc) ?
