I had always wondered why there were so damn many lightning flashes during that storm. In EVERY video I've seen of that storm, there's LITERALLY a flash of lightning every second.
I was there! That was kinda scary considering I hate being in storms! But I love watching them! I wonder whats going to happen this summer! I thought we were going to get struck by Lightning!!
we got like 125 lightning strikes in 45 secends, every tranformer in south bend explored when a 349th lightning strikes hits, is break the big frontroom window and all car windows and that was a BIGGSET LIGHTNING STORM IN THE WROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLD!!!!
Dude.. I remember this storm. It was crazy. We lost power for like three days. Chicago is a stormy city.

That is quite the storm! It seemed like most of the bolts were striking the ground, too. That's when it gets dangerous.

we got 235 lightning stirkes per minute for almost 125 minutes
1st round 75 minutes 2nd round 30 minute
3rd round 20 minutes

we got about more then 10,000 lightning strikes hit south bend, IN that where i live
the power was out for a whole city tornado stuack the airport is was a F2 is was over $3 Million dollars of damage
