  • its more rockabilly than country... im sorry... but thats just what it is

  • I wondered why the pigs did not come back from left to right during the second chorus...

  • These George tunes are great.Thx for the post.

  • Damn, I didn't know Liberace played guitar.

  • Like them white boots George ! LOL

  • looks like george was on a little cocaine that night...damn he sounded good no matter wat!

  • I miss great songs like this old classic from George.

  • Some of his old fast songs were similar to Buck Owens and the Bakers Field stuff.

  • on hee haw show yes george

  • Wow this is a special one for me. George sung "Love Bug" so much I think he got sick of this one. Just like Elton John did with "Crockodile Rock". Some songs they enjoy singing and some they rather not. I understand how they feel. I love this one myself. On my favs it goes. Barb

  • he had so much singing this song i wonder why he cut it out of his concerts. i consider myself somewhat of a Hee-Haw expert...i'm curious why George would be singing a 1965 hit song on a program that debuted in 1969...I have a blog about that TV show plus one about George, too, among other singers I like.

  • Heh, George didn't choose what songs he wanted to sing for these shows.

CBS that broadcasted Hee Haw decided that.

  • I really can't tell when this performance is, though. CBS aired the show for two years, 1969-1971, and then it went into first-run syndication for 21 more years, 1971-1992, free of network interference. So, you're right if this was broadcast on the network between 1969 and 1971 but afterward the producer, Sam Lovullo, had way more control over guests and what they'd sing.

  • I know in the show's later years Sam and company got into a routine of the guests singing their current song in the first half-hour and then in the second half-hour they'd sing a previous hit from the same album or the previous album or they'd sing a song that happened to be on their album at the time which may or may not become a future single. Anyway, I think I answered my own question in my previous comment...Sam and his associates chose what the artist's would sing once they left CBS.

  • Yeah, CBS decided, i think they choosed the right songs.

I know that George sang "Say It's Not You" on Hee Haw, and i would love to hear it, so let me know if You'll find it.

It's one of my favorite songs from George.
