I am NOT trying to be a killjoy, I am just trying to point out that people have MAJOR problems, big fights, legal battles, over something as simple as CONDO rules, HOA agreements, and any other planned community that doesn't let them fight, get drunk, and puke on the sidewalk.

@justmemelanie Hate to point out the basics, but in 5,000 years of Human History, there hasn't been a "Resource Based Economy", because resources are not free or easy to produce. A Resource based economy, must assume that physical resources are abundant, and ZERO cost. In other words, the Star Trek Replicator. The fact is, that private ownership ALWAYS does a better job of protecting property, and you can go look at a public bathroom, or waterway to see it.

IF you get a chance, drive from chicago to los angeles along highway 66. There are a dozen or so former people's paradise communities, and all have burnt out Tractor wrecks in front.

Every 30 years or so, some grand leader marches out of chicago, founds a master planned community that doesn't use money, proclaims himself a genius, the future, the best, and that usually dies within 20 years.

Google Drop City, or Gaskin's farm, or the Amana community, or 1960s communes.
