China BTW technolociqally behind couse they entered the industrial revolution late and therefore missed out on any real competing of the first almost 100 years of the prize, and russia were way behind for the first years to but have recovered good, also eveb though the landmass is huge they still have a smaller population than Japan for example

selfish? lol are you a joke? do you know why in china people are so broke? because pre WW1 all the way to the mid WW2 Europeans and even americans - along with the japanese have been invading china and pillaging it's ass off. 8 big countries against 1 -at that time - semi -powerful but drug (introduced by europeans) addicted country. So right now, china has been trying to fucking repair itself from all the damages from these "unselfish" countries.

Germany and Japan both repaired itself within decades after WW2 despite being the major losers. It does not take a genius to figure out the genuine reason behind China's lag in reconstruction.

What you don't understand is that a loser of a war recieves help and ALOT of aid from the winning countries. The USA helped Japan ENORMOUSLY in rebuilding their country both - economically and socially. China on the other hand, has been suffering from foreign invasions and internal conflicts well before WW1. And as a "winner" of the war(ww2) - they got basically no help in reconstruction.

as for russia. - Not every country in the world has time to drink tea, eat crumpets, taste whine and spend billions of dollars in research that has no direct impact on the quality of their citizen's lives. - Although the money spent on military may be arguable - it is ultimately there to protect it's citizens and spends it's money trying to create a direct impact on the quality of life available there.
