the driver of the tanker was my husband, i miss him so much, he tried his best to follow all the rules of the road and had his life snuffed out, i still can't believe it, it been a year and seems like yesterday, i will always luv and miss u John, RIP honey
I grew up there and my grandparent live 5 minutes down the rode from where that happened I was driving with my dad on that bridge 45 minutes before it happened
I grew up on Merritt Island and went to MIHS. Class of 05. I actually got to talking to someone at my job (in Alabama!!) who was from Cocoa and he told me about this. How sad!
i knew the 17 yr old she was texting and side swipe the 18wheeler and the truck was a 4x4 ford pick up truck and she flipped three times landing between the bridge and the tanker landed on top of the truck and caught on fire. FYI the truck was so new the license was being shipped to the house R.I.P to the people that died
I pray that I don't know the victims...this was so tragic...a pick-up in a hurry hit the side of a tanker truck which caused it to start to explode...the tanker was still going 60 mph as it exploded, overtook the picl up and the tanker portion fell to SR 3 (n. Courtenay Parkway)...reoprts confirm two fatalities, at this point, more cars may have been under the tanker as it fell below, since there is a traffic light on other side of overpass.

I was there on E841. Thing was massive and quite possibly the scariest fire I've had to deal with. You don't joke around with a tanker.
