By the way, given that you are a 'prolife male' and expect women to go through with any pregnancy, I expect you'll be careful to only ever have sex when you and your partner have absolutely agreed that you want a child out of it?
Or is it just a 'woman's problem' that you believe you should have a say over for no good reason?
Answer: because I own my body and therefore what I say goes. It's using my organs to grow.
Does the law make you give up your body for use by another being? Do I have less of a right to bodily autonomy than you? I should point out to you that since you have no uterus and don't risk being in that position, your opinion is pointless.
this question can be answered in countless amounts of way and disputed till the end of time. the answer to your question is that it is in answerable. because it is a question of of opinion. the only REALLY way to get an answer would be to silence one side of the argument for good
@Bumblybee256 yes it is, not so much in the US, here it is yours, but if you go to a country where they don't give two shits about women. then it most likely belongs to your husband or some shit. however, y would that matter? if you dont want the baby kill that shit, if u do keep it. your opinion is the only one that matters in your personal situation. as is for everyone else. there is no moral or ethical justification, because these things are made in consciousness and differ individually
@Bumblybee256 got talk to some one that traffics people and ask him what he thinks. the point im trying to make is that no side can win this dispute because ever one thinks differently and has different views. There is no such thing as right and wrong, its just what society u live in general agrees is right and just. But society can not give a answer to this particular debate because differing opinions, and will most likely never be able to unless something is changed... not happening.
@Bumblybee256 ........ Now that i think about it....?? WTF would it matter if it is you body? you dont need justification to do what you want. Just DO IT!! even if your body wasn't yours and had no rights would you give two shits... no, you'd do what ever you want with it. as long as u could get away with it. so if you want the abortion get it. even if you irresponsible and go out to screw ever night. all that matters is what you care about in the end.
@ermaclob I know, abortion will always happen. The question is whether or not women have the right to claim their own bodily autonomy safely. 'Just do it' sounds easy when you aren't the one trying to perform an abortion on yourself with a coat hanger, whilst trying not to perforate your own uterus and kill yourself.
@ermaclob Well, my point at the beginning was that every owns their body so there should really be no debate over whether abortion should be legal at all.
@Bumblybee256 well yea, but in America the liberal ideology that backbones the society, easily disputes this because that baby also has the same right to its body and u are infringing that right. there for you are doing something illegal. it can also go the other way. that i think is the real reason y abortion cant be solved in this country. liberalism supports both sides and leaves it to opinion to solve the issue. but that wont work ether
@ermaclob I'm not removing the rights of the fetus to its own body, I am removing it from mine. We don't grant others teh right to use our bodies without continuing consent- other adults, parasites etc, so why a fetus?
@Bumblybee256 but....., u kinda consented to it when u had sex in the first place. or did u not know that's how babys are made? and you are removing its rights to its body because you killing it witch takes away the foundational right in liberalism witch is its right to life. that essentially takes away all its inalienable rights. the only way that you could take it out would be if it was endangering your life or if you clam that the baby is not human when its a fetus....
@ermaclob In primates sex is just not just used for procreation and sex is not a contract. Consenting to the possibility of fertilisation is not the same as consenting to carrying to full term. I can have complete control over my own reproduction so why shouldn't I? Nope, I am removing it from my body, a fetus does not have rights to my body. A fetus does not have 'inalienable' rights due to merely being human.
@Bumblybee256 ?? "A fetus does not have 'inalienable' rights due to merely being human".? can you please explain to me then how it is that people get there rights? because if being human isn't it then.......? no one has rights at all. "being human" is what gives people rights or have u never heard the term human rights in the news, court, or small take? . with this way of thinking i can easy come back and say the same thing about your rights.
@Bumblybee256 "Consenting to the possibility of fertilisation is not the same as consenting to carrying to full term"... go back 20-30 years and no one would have ever agreed to this statement. once the baby test came back positive there was no other option. you've simply say this now because it has become an handy option. but the option does not make it true. naturally it must happen, and u do consent. what would you said if abortion didn't exist?
@ermaclob Yes, well societies progress don't they? Why should I care who agrees with me? Yes, it is an option. I am now able to control my own fertility. I OWN my body so why shouldn't I. 'Naturally it must happen'- er, nope and no I don't consent to carry full term, I consent to enjoying sex. Actually, abortion has always existed. There are abortifaciant herbs that have been known about for a very long time. Women own their bodies regardless of what the public opinion is.
@Bumblybee256 as is your opinion, however, it is not a solid truth. So.... what do you think about abortion being called murder. It technically is, I believe. Since your for abortion do you have any opinion on that? i personally dislike pro-lifers that spit that in peoples faces "your a Murderer!! your a Murderer!!!!"
@ermaclob Lol, 'solid truth'? So? I think it's ridiculous because it once again implies I am obliged to let my body be used and a fetus is not a person. Merely being human doesn't give you a sacred right to be born.
@Bumblybee256 i can assume you have very lose beliefs in the Bill of Rights and your pretty much denying what it says. Actually...did you just notice what you just said? "fetus is not a person." you didnt say this before. you said they are human. if they aren't it IS justifiable to kill them :) and everything you said would make more scene in terms of rights. however if they are human..the rights stand strongly against you, the right to life is more important. so tell me are they human or not?
@ermaclob Yet another american who believes everyone else is american. Yes, they are of the species human, simply being human doesn't denote personhood. Why does simply being hommo sapiens give you a special right to live?
@Bumblybee256 well, im just saying the overall view of what most people would tell u based one some of the readings ive done. its not necessarily what i think. and so what if the view is American. those views are supposed somewhat forced on others its just how the ideology works. hommo sapiens = human = Human Rights. its thats simple. what do u mean personhood? you make it sound like if someone is feral and raised by animals they do not have rights. i would assume new borns dont have it ether
@ermaclob Well- explain to me why simply being human gives you a special right to life? Do you eat meat? My DNA is not what makes my life valuble to me, it's my consciousness, memory, personality etc. No, I don't think a newborn is a 'person', but they are an independent being and I can't see any circumstance that it would be ok to kill one.However- this is mostly irrelevant to debate. Even if a fetus was busily composing a symphony it wouldn't give it the right to use me.
@Bumblybee256 but, it your falt for it being in that situation in the first place, its not like it was just like "Oh, im just gonna go in here and grow in this lady wom." you put it there consciously knowing that there was a possibility that it could grow. there for it doesn't matter if you consent to the use of your body or not *afterwords.its like playing an extreme sport and completely disregarding the possibility of danger. just because you say its not going to happen does not make it so
@ermaclob You view a fetus as being produced by a woman's 'fault'? Women are entitled to enjoy sex lives without consenting to carry a fetus. Does that mean that abortion in the case of rape is fine with you? In which case what just happened to teh so called rights of the fetus? Yes, I knew it might grow- I also know I can take it out of I like because I own the equipment. What's your point? Maybe hospitals should save money treating RTAs- they knew driving could be dangerous!
@Bumblybee256 ok, women can have all the fun they want taking the dick. but at some point there needs to be a level of responsibility in knowing that a child can be conseved by there actions. and that child is a potential person with feelings blaa blaa etc and it has no other option because of u. a good pro lifer would fight the rap shit to the end. but i wold honestly have to say fuck that shit. all the later reasons still apply though.
@ermaclob And having an abortion can be taking responsibility. Are you really so challenged as to be talking about a fetus and it's 'options'? You have hereby stopped forming coherent sentences and are still avoidant. If you don't intend to address either of those issues don't reply.
@Bumblybee256 hospitals get paid for there services, you do not. and that is i think the reason alot of people have abortions. they had to much fun Screwing and don't want to face the consequences and put the effort and responsibility in to the other side of there decisions. I bet there would be 50% less abortions if you got a big reward or had the possibility of selling it after it born.
@ermaclob Lol what service is it that I'm providing? Wasn't your point that if you put yourself in a position of risk you should deal with the consequences? Why should I pay to help people who put themselves at risk. You have no idea why people have abortions and it's basically none of your business. I asked you why you have a greater right to life than a non-human, say a gorilla.
@Bumblybee256 "Why does simply being hommo sapiens give you a special right to live?" so i guess we can throw away all morals, ethics and logic at this point and just start killing anyone we want right. So what does give a person the right to live then? if humanity = the same thing as being a cow or a rat. where clearly not killing each other. so what is the reason?
@ermaclob It's a very simple question. Why would you need to throw away morals? That doesn't follow any train of logic at all. How are you different from a cow?
@Bumblybee256 your pretty much saying that being human isnt what gives right of life. so people kill everything that is not human. if humanity doesn't give use rights then we would be killing each other with the justification of no one has the rights to live
@Fuctmentality im pretty much done discussing this topic; it stopped being interesting, y are you even going through shit that was posted months ago?
u really want to know;
When i was discussing this i was doing so from a pro life point of view. so yea that was one of the arguments that pro lifers use to support there argument. in reality, at least i think, it doesn't mater if you a prokaryotic cell or a god, there are no real natural rights.
Someones daughter, sister, and mother. But, it would be your legal right to refuse to donate despite the fact that it would mean I would die. Given this fact, it seems a bit absurd that people would argue that a woman loses this right upon fertilization of an ovum. She has to give up the right to her body for nine months and endure the inherent risks of pregnancy and childbirth. You do not have to donate to me and I don't have to allow something to use my body as an incubator for nine months.
It is the law in this country that you do not have to undergo a procedure or give up a part of your body to preserve the life of another. That means that if I were dying and the only thing that could save me was your blood, you would have the absolute right to refuse to donate despite the fact that giving blood has far less inherent risks than pregnancy and childbirth. Now, i am indisputably a person: cont.
This question is baited. It is well known that whether an embryo is a baby, a human being, or even a life is debated. Even so, I will give one of the many reasons why abortion should be legal that I have that applies regardless of whether the embryo/fetus is any of those things. Cont.;
@dlaz0109 This is the trend I keep noticing. EVERY pro lifer that I have encountered on youtube comments that was pro life with no exceptions. EVERY SINGLE ONE.
I guess it's easy to get on your high and mighty horse when you won't be the one bearing the consequences.
@dlaz0109 So why doesn't the woman/girl have the fundamental right to choose when she wants to reproduce? i I could live with banning abortion except for in cases of rape or incest. That seems like a fair compromise to me.
@dlaz0109 My point is, if a fetus/unborn child is not a human being/person, why is this not universally accepted in all countries?
M Because a lot of countries are still majority catholic/muslim and oppose abortion for religious reasons. Although their are some pro life atheists out there. Me not being one of them.
It leaches completely off of the woman's body. Not like a human baby who only needs to be cared for. It saps energy, nutrients and in some cases life out of a woman.
An embryo can also not think or feel. Therefore it does not care if it is aborted or not. The only person that "cares" is this man. Who will never get pregnant and will never have to make the sacrifice he wants women FORCED to make.
A womans uterus is a part of her body it is NOT a hotel.
@dlaz0109 I know about Suzy Q. She's been commenting to move real comments out of view. I'm coming back soon to remedy her rubbish. Funny thing is that she's obviously least respected person on these threads but has no clue. Ignorance is bliss I guess. I'm def not stressing this fool. "LOLOL" It's legal waaaaa. Sick argument.
@dlaz0109 why cant you make abortion illegal??? Cant answer? ..then you failed and the debate is over. When you scrape up somehting that might work for you, get back with me, Id love to hear it.lol
@Sueezee1 Same old "why can't you make abortion illegal??" = fail sueezee. Stick around sueezee and you will see abortion go back to being seen as the illegal crime of murder that it really is!
Everyday more and more people that didn't care before, are standing up and voting!
Notice the ass kicking the liberal baby killers took on 11/ 2 / 10
Wait till we get rid of obama in 2012 and take the house and the senate!
Then see what happens to those who murder the innocent unborn!
Well for starters I'm not anti gun, undecided on global warming and I don't think the United Nations ever does squat. I'm to young to register for either party.
A wise man once said= " If you are not a liberal at the age of 20 you have no heart,,,And if you are not a consevitive at the age of 30 you have no brain "
You may well be a moderate now. But as you age ,,hopefully you will gain wisdom.
~~~~~~~~~~~~ hahahah FAIL!!! Biology has NO concensus on the issue of abortion. Its about rights of people,the law, the 5th, 9th, 13th, & 14th Amendments,The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, The Supreme Court, social custom and necessity, & Roe v. Wade & NO science Now I know who you are...BYE!!
~~~~~~~~~~ There is NO answer to your god danned question.. Some countires have decided to make it legal and some havent, and if your trying trying to make a point with that, it wont work. Some countries dont have freedoms we do. Now, you got anything that will work for you?? LOLOLOL
@dlaz0109 says: why aboriton is illegal in 4 countries
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Its illegal because its not legal..hahahah, and I dont give a dman. Tell me how a human and human being are the same thing...hahahahahah.
~~~~ hey my love, why dont YOU have the balls to cite me one that proves ME wrong???
Black's Law Dictionary defines "person/ human being" as: . An entity that is recognized by law as having the rights and duties of born & legal individuals , also The term "human being" found in a law dictionary, and specifically found as a meaning of the word "person" Now, call me a liar, you idiot! LOLOLOL
@dlaz0109 says guess you change your position when its convenient
~~~~~~~~~~~~
LMFAO.......OMG!! can you get any dumber? My position never changes, its just that YOU are too ignorant to debate this issue, because you dont know that humans and human being are different.... ya, just like the sociopath you are...blame YOUR wrong doings on someone else!! hahahahah.
@dlaz0109 says abortion is legal,. abortion is legal
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You should only post under one name, but anyway, thats all that needs to be said...ABOTION IS LEGAL and the reason its legal is because of the things I say. If the things YOU say are correct, why isnt it illegal? See? Saying " Abortion is legal" says it all for every prochoice advocate.
@dlaz0109 says: you agree w/ someone fetus is not a human being
~~~~~~~~~~~~ Nope it is NOT a human being. have I confused you yet??? LOLOL... ... I LOVE it when people dont know the difference in human and human being, and think they are intercahnable................. LOLOL. Stay stupid diaz!!
human being (Homo sapiens), a culture-bearing primate that is anatomically similar and related to the other great apes but is distinguished by a more highly developed brain and a resultant capacity for articulate speech and abstract reasoning. In addition, human beings display a marked erectness of body carriage that frees the hands for use as manipulative members
You answered it yourself, it's in HER womb. It's in her body, you can't force someone to keep something in their body, especially something that can so potentially damage their health and destroy their lives.
Pro-Choice is mad pussy. I think people should have the ultimate choice to kill whoever they want because no one can tell me what to do with my own body. So when I choke the life out of you and watch your eyes bulge, don't dare try to infringe upon my right to do so. My health includes my psychological health and since so many of you make me angry and depressed I should have the right to stop you from affecting my health. If I am wrong, why can we dismember unborn children then?
And about half the victims of abortion are female and you will never be able to relate to them even if you are female because you had a choice and they didn't.
Condemn is not the way to go. These women need help. But the option to kill is not the way to go. A human being's rights should not be allowed to be cast aside for that of another just because that person is silent. Those who cannot speak for themselves need those who can to protect their rights.
@johnhzeeb We can dismember unborn children because they are infringing on the pregnant woman's rights. She has the right not to have another person living inside her if she doesn't want it. Since I am already born, you can get rid of me, ignore me, tell me to go away, etc. With a fetus those options don't exist. The only option is killing.
@johnhzeeb says when i choke the life out of you dont infringe upon my right to do so
~~~~~~~~~~~~\ Dumb shit...you dont have the right to kill other people. You just cant seem to get any of this right, can you? Scraping the bottom of the probirth barrel is making you look foolish & gets you nowhere, so keep it up. LOLOL
first of all a fetus isnt young because its not even born, it's not alive, and women have the choice because its in their body, when did the rights of the unborn become more important then that of a living breathing women who is going through imense sufurfing that you being a man could never and will never be able to understand. why is it that men can go to the doctor and get the snip when they made the CHOICE not to have anymore children but when women do it it's unacceptable
@cr87129 Many answers stir up argument with ppl who disagree & create debate back and forth. There will ALWAYS be a debate about this topic. We are all entitled to believe what we want & live how we choose. It becomes issue when ppl are forced to do something they don't want to do or don't agree with. But really it's unfair to impose our own beliefs/opinions on anyone else. Period. Spread the word you stand up for, just don't judge or condemn. That's when ppl get nasty, when it turns "personal".
Want to hear why its our choice? You dont have to carry a freakin' life sucking child for nine months. If men had to shove a child out of a very small hole for hours upon hours, on top of the nine months of pregnancy, you MEN would have drive thru abortions. Its OUR choice because its OUR body, and OUR life. Now it should NOT be used as a form of birth control, BUT, if its a teenager, a rape/incest victim, a woman who may DIE in the pregnancy, its a respectable choice the woman should live with.
BTW being Pro CHOICE is about having a choice. YOU have a choice to decide whether you want to do things & so should we as women. Despite whether YOU believe it to be "OK" or "right" or "moral". When do YOUR choices overpower mine? When do I lose MY choices? Oh wait a minute... you can't even CHOOSE any of this b/c you're a MAN and can't get pregnant in the first place!!
" YOU have a choice to decide whether you want to do things & so should we as women."
Yes, but you see the thing is, this "choice" in paricular involves ending a human life. When men make choices like that, they get arrested.
" When do YOUR choices overpower mine?"
If this is in reference to the man who inseminated the woman, then this question basically boils down to yo arguing that the woman's choice sould overpower the man's.
@priley1984 There is great debate over when an embryo then fetus become a 'human life' ~ I won't argue specifics b/c clearly everyone has a difference of opinion. Does viablity play a role at all? As for the man having a choice over the pregnancy, sad to say but no. A man has the right to walk away if he doesn't want to be involved as a father leaving the woman to do it alone.
If a man could get pregnant instead, it would be HIS choice to keep it or terminate it too. But he can't, so he's SOL!
“There is great debate over when an embryo then fetus become a 'human life'”
A fact that completely eludes me. When an unborn child is in the embryonic stage of development, they develop their own individual central nervous system, brain, heart, eyes, arms, legs, even an external genitalia. By the end of the embryonic stage, the child has an identity that is seperate from the mother. A body is formed, and a new heart is beating.
@priley1984 Earliest stages of development of these vital organs & functioning in a primitive way. It's not the same as a human just yet... it will potentially develop into fully formed and fully functioning organs/extremities. But cannot and will not survive outside the womb. Not viable. Not really alive or dead... just existing but only b/c of being in the womb attached to the woman.
"Earliest stages of development of these vital organs & functioning in a primitive way."
Many embryological text books across the U.S. will tell you that, based on objective scientific research, a human life begins at conception. Common sense should tell you the same thing, since every single person on the planet came into existence at conception. You don't say that you didn't exist until your body reached a certain stage of development.
"But cannot and will not survive outside the womb."
This is not true. There are many stories of babies born four months premature, and not only do they survive, but they grow into fully intelligent human beings.
I guess we shouldn't call a baby who survives being born four months earlier than normal a human, since they came out of the womb at a certain "non-human" point of development.
@priley1984 Maybe "I" should've been more specific from the get go... I am referring to abortions before 12 wks. And no embryo can survive outside the womb at this stage.
I have always thought 'murder' to be when someone stops the breath of another. Because we all need air in our lungs to live. Clearly in utero this is 'different' except when the lungs are not formed & dont function, only in a primitive way. Movement does not mean function. Preparing for function, for life does not mean alive.
@AZAP28 says: have always thought 'murder' to be when someone stops the breath of another.
~~~~~~~ So, if I kill the man raping my daughter, its murder because he was breathing? Heres a novel concept...LOOK IT UP! Murder is the illegal killing of a human being..thats all. A fetus isnt a human being and abortion isnt illegal. Get it? Its very simple.
Also, it completely eludes me when people argue about whether or not a fetus is a human life, since the word fetus is a Latin word that means offspring, and according to Webster's dictionary, an offspring is indeed a child. So when a woman makes the decision to abort a fetus, but the very definition of the word, she is choosing to end a human life.
@priley1984 I'm curious why then if the fetus is alive and considered a human being, why a birth & death certificate cannot be issued when a woman has a miscarriage? At a certain gestational age, if a woman has a 'miscarriage' or 'stillbirth' she is required by law to register both. But not before that stage.
"I'm curious why then if the fetus is alive and considered a human being, why a birth & death certificate cannot be issued when a woman has a miscarriage?"
Just as I am curious why abortion is considered empowerment, but a miscarriage is considered an emotional issue, when they both involve the death of a fetus/embryo? Because the life growing within them was lost. Are you saying it's less emotional when a woman chooses to end the life herself?
@priley1984 Generally when a woman has a miscarriage & is upset by it, it's b/c she wanted the pregnancy, most likely planned, hoped for, excited about etc. Who said abortion is considered empowerment? You assume that b/c prochoice ppl want the choice to be left to the woman that abortion is enjoyed or seen as THE answer. It's another option.
I notice however that my question wasn't acknowledged tho. Interesting.
This, I'm assuming, is you saying that a woman has the right to control her own body. But when a woman agrees to have sexual intercourse and has an "unplanned pregnancy," isn't that proof that a woman lost control over her body somewhere down the line? Wouldn't a woman who has control over her own body have a planned pregnancy?
@priley1984 Who said anything about control? It's about having the right to put in/take out/remove or replace things that are in your own body. What strikes me funny about this debate is that prolife ppl assume that women who have an abortion do it with not a care in the world. Like it's something she's gonna 'squeeze in' after she goes to get her hair done before 'spin class'. It's a difficult choice that is made on an individual basis, reasons don't have to make sense to anyone but her!
“A man has the right to walk away if he doesn't want to be involved as a father leaving the
woman to do it alone.”
Wow. So, even though it takes two to create a human embryo, you're telling me that the burden of responsibility rests solely on the woman? That's putting a lot of pressure on females everywhere.
@priley1984 I was merely saying that he holds that right and it happens all the time. I'm not saying that I agree with it or even condone it. However, it happens. I was using it as an example of how men use their rights to do as they see fit, and so a woman deserves the same right without worrying about the 'donor' .
That's because they don't want the woman to keep the baby, which they think is the only alternative once the child is born.
A man should have his say, though, because it was his decision as well as hers that brought the child into existence. Not saying that his say is final, but the two should communicate. Lack of communication does end many relationships.
@priley1984 OMG for sure! It's definitely important to communicate. I just don't think he has THE final say b/c it's her body that has to go thru everything. And while I advocate choice, I don't think that abortion is the BEST choice. I just think that it's important we don't remove choice from women. I "get" the argument, I've heard it a zillion times over. I just don't think about it the same way. I think that it's for each individual to decide for themselves. Not society as a whole.
“Who said anything about control? It's about having the right to put in/take out/remove or replace things that are in your own body.”
Actually it's about two things: The exploitation of women and murder. Hitler understood this when he used abortion to control the populations of the “inferior races.”
@priley1984 Hitler did more than 'control the population' with forcing abortion. It was to degrade, humiliate, make them suffer among other things. What I'm referring to is a woman being able to decide the outcome of a pregnancy. What gives you the right to decide for her?
@AZAP28 “It's a difficult choice that is made on an individual basis”
Well no wonder it's such a difficult choice to make, since you've pretty much said that the burden of responsibility rests solely on her. I wonder if that's why there are so many male abortion activists. Because a pro-choice woman believes a woman should not only carry the burden of responsibility for the choice she made, but his as well. Despite the fact that it takes two, the responsibility falls entirely on the woman.
@priley1984 Yes, b/c that's what I was referring to when I said it's a difficult choice.
If a man doesn't want a woman to consume certain foods while pregnant, does he get the right to choose that for her too? Ridiculous? Maybe, but so is being told what you can & can't do with your own body.
"you can't even CHOOSE any of this b/c you're a MAN and can't get pregnant in the first place!!"
You make it sound like a woman can get pregnant by herself. The truth is that a woman can not get pregnant without receiving elements from a man's body. The woman's lover should have a say, since he used "his body" to help create said embryo.
And before you write off prolife as misogynistic, I want you to read quotes from prominent feminist activists, like Susan B. Anthony. Later
@priley1984 So what about when a man wants his wife/girlfriend etc to have an abortion but she doesn't want to? Does he lose his right to that choice b/c it's HER body? If yes, regardless of your reason, then he should lose his right altogether. You cannot justify him losing HIS right b/c he wants to end the pregnancy or as you'd say end a 'life', but agree to his choice in the matter to keep the pregnancy. Double standard much?
@AZAP28 “ Does he lose his right to that choice b/c it's HER body?”
To answer your question, no, he doesn't lose his right b/c it's “her body,” he loses his right because he's an abusive asshole. If a man tries to enforce his will on a woman to have an abortion when she doesn't want to, that is a form of abuse, and she needs to get out.
Oh, you mean like how when pro-choicers accuse pro-life people of being cruel by holding up pictures of “dead babies,” when those pictures reflect the very thing pro-choice people condone? How can a person who is pro-choice say it is cruel for a pro-life person to expose the horrifying reality of abortion, but not so cruel when a woman chooses to have one?
@priley1984 It's more about the exaggeration & lies that MANY MANY prolife groups put out there. Claiming the pictures are of fetuses at early stages when they are nowhere near as developed. Not to mention, there are several women who go into have an abortion who don't really want one but feel they have no options & they feel bad enough. To then walk out and be smacked in the face by horrific images? It's cruel b/c it does nothing but hurt, where's the support so she doesn't do it again?
" It's more about the exaggeration & lies that MANY MANY prolife groups put out there. Claiming the pictures are of fetuses at early stages when they are nowhere near as developed"
Of course, those photos CAN'T reflect the horror of abortion, since if they did, that would expose abortion for what it is: murder.
Also, if they don't reflect the reality of abortion, why is it than some abortion workers look back on their work as the murder of children? I guess some are...
@priley1984 You asked why prochoice ppl refer to the pics as cruel, but not the act. That's why... It would be different if prolife ppl offered more support rather than condemnation to those who consider, have had or will have an abortion. How is it productive to attack & condemn? Make ppl feel less willing to seek help, speak out & instead feel judged & afraid. Not something I'd want to stand up for. I'd rather tell the woman it's her choice & these are her choices, here's help if you need it.
Also, I find it funny that pro-choice people admit that those pictures of aborted fetuses are pictures of dead 'babies,' since they refused to acknowledge it as such when it was alive in the woman's uturus. How is it that abortion isn't terminating a human life, but after the deed is done, we have a “dead baby” on our hands?
BTW, a few definitions: Fetus: The unborn offspring from the end of the 8th week after conception (when the major structures have formed) until birth. Up until the eighth week, the developing offspring is called an embryo - which is an organism in its early stages of development, especially before it has reached a distinctively recognizable form.
What gives you or anyone else the right to tell me that I cannot remove something that is in MY body? Why do YOU or anyone else have that right? What's the difference?
Furthermore, killing a human who has the freewill to live, breathe & think on its own is entirely different than ending the beginning forms of a potential life.
@mshippiemama23 SAYS: A fetus is in no way a parisite.same as calling the human race one. And the woman has the right to her own body.not that of her child/baby/fetus.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The fetus can have its own DNA and its own body but it has no rights over the woman’s body and it is up to her if she wants to host it or not for a reason or for no reason at all.
who have to say something you will never get pregnant you will never know how scary it can be you have no say, why is it that a womens life is less important to you than an unborn baby?
younger, no its not alive, it has no organs, no feeling no thoughts desires or dreams its a bunch of cells it mine as well be skin. i hate the pro-lifers use the argument it could grow into something, in that case women can longer be allowed to have periods and men can no longrer masturbate considerate that coul;d have been potential life, lets just have all these babies we arent ready for cause its not like adoption is impossible and orphanages arent full, and i hate how its always men with
"The my body my choice" arguement is not about the fetus' life, it is about not having to go through the process of pregnancy and giving birth if you do not want to. Until the "pro lifers" start supporting embryonic research of miscarried fetuses and already aborted fetuses in order to improve implanting a fetus from one womb into another and succesfully continue pregnancy, then abortion is the only reliable option to avoid giving birth.
A WOMEN HAS A RIGHT TO AN ABORTION BECAUSE A FETUS IS INVATING PRIVATE PROPERTY (THE WOMANS BODY). JUST BECAUSE SHE HAD SEX THAT DOES NOT MEAN SHE SIGNED A CONTRACT SAYING SHE WIIL HAVE A PARASITE INSIDE HER BODY FOR NINE LONG MONTHS.
think of the woman as a landlord, renting a home (her body) to someone else (a fetus). If the fetus is causing the woman pain or is a problem, much like someone renting a home, can't you kick them out? if someone was staying in your home and causing problems for you, and you had no motivation for letting that someone stay with you? except for something like rape, wouldn't you like the right to kick them out instead of having them stay with you forever?
Early in pregnancy the fetus is called that for a reason. They don't call it the "human being" or even the "baby" until later on in pregnancy. It has BEGUN the development process for a potential life. It's not the best solution to an unwanted pregnancy, but neither is forcing a woman to carry it to term and give birth. Adoption or not, it's a choice. Imagine being forced to do one over the other? Why wouldn't I as a woman have that right? It is after all MY womb & I will decide when to use it.
@AZAP28 the definition of fetus is "little one", so when someone is smaller than someone else that gives them the right to kill them? I guess my dad has the right to kill me right now then
@gareno7 Would you want your freedom to choose to be taken? Would you want to be forced to have an abortion? I didn't think so. Why then would you advocate taking someone else's choice from them? Just b/c you don't 'agree' with it? So YOUR opinion matters but no one else's unless it coincides with yours? Stopping a pregnancy from continuing is different than killing someone who has already been developed and born into the world, into society.
Because even if was, it would still never have any rights extending to the right to the womans body. Her body is hers and hers alone, a fact not changed by pregnancy. And she owes use of her body to no one.
To continue a pregnancy is a charity, not a moral obligation.
You haven't give us sufficient proof that early abortions are murder. We know that stopping cells from dividing is not murder.
First, you must define life. Then you must give evidence to support your definition, as well as your claim. Only then will I be able to answer your question.
Ok, who's right should it be/ who should decide what a woman can or cant do with her body?
The good thing about pro choice is that it does not support one over the other, when people hear pro choice they automatically think that every woman should have an abortion.
It simply means that a woman can control her own body (ie either keep or teminate the pregnancy).
pregnancy is not all about the woman's body. it IS her choice whether or not she has sex, but it is NOT her choice to kill another human being. the human embryo isn't a part of her body; she can't decide to chop it off whenever she feels like it. No one has the right to kill a child.
I am pro choice and I believe it is a woman's right to abort an unborn fetus if she chooses because of her life. You give up most of your dreams and ambitions when you have children. Children are the worst investment one could make. I come from a large family and I know how much financial burden kids are. I am kid free and glad to be. I will not live a life of mediocrity over a child I did not want. I want a life my parents couldn't have because they had too many children.
Isnt it interesting that a man would insist a women have all the babies she becomes pregnant with. Babies he will never love, clothe, feed, house, guide, teach or even know if were born or not. Perhaps, he has a mother he wants to punish via ALL women.~~~~~~~~~~~~~
how is a baby punishment? I care about all children. we should even forgive women that have abortions. I don't believe we should even kill murders, maybe just child molesters.
mary: son died/ thanks for comment abou tme I dont know what comment I made to you & dont know why you're telling me you son died. Write in complete sentences, or put a backquote, please.
itz: iM talking late term abortin Of the one million abortion every yr. approx 8 are latest term, and 95% of those are aborted because of fetal damage.
ok lets go to the worst parts in africa and say lets not let them live and bomb them all because they are not going to have good lives with shelter and nutrition?
john: africa/not let them live because they are not going to have good lives Did you just compare living , starving, loved, breahting, suffering, wounded, tortured, greiving human beings with a god damned embryo??? IF... you can get more intelligent, get back with me!
Here's a better question, what gives it the right to use my body as a life support?

By the way, given that you are a 'prolife male' and expect women to go through with any pregnancy, I expect you'll be careful to only ever have sex when you and your partner have absolutely agreed that you want a child out of it?
Or is it just a 'woman's problem' that you believe you should have a say over for no good reason?
Bumblybee256 11 months ago
Answer: because I own my body and therefore what I say goes. It's using my organs to grow.
Does the law make you give up your body for use by another being? Do I have less of a right to bodily autonomy than you? I should point out to you that since you have no uterus and don't risk being in that position, your opinion is pointless.
Bumblybee256 11 months ago
this question can be answered in countless amounts of way and disputed till the end of time. the answer to your question is that it is in answerable. because it is a question of of opinion. the only REALLY way to get an answer would be to silence one side of the argument for good
ermaclob 1 year ago
@ermaclob It's a matter of opinion whether I own my body or not?
Bumblybee256 11 months ago
@Bumblybee256 yes it is, not so much in the US, here it is yours, but if you go to a country where they don't give two shits about women. then it most likely belongs to your husband or some shit. however, y would that matter? if you dont want the baby kill that shit, if u do keep it. your opinion is the only one that matters in your personal situation. as is for everyone else. there is no moral or ethical justification, because these things are made in consciousness and differ individually
ermaclob 11 months ago
@ermaclob I think we've finally managed to establish that slavery is wrong so I don't see how ownership of my own body can be a matter of opinion....
Bumblybee256 11 months ago
@Bumblybee256 got talk to some one that traffics people and ask him what he thinks. the point im trying to make is that no side can win this dispute because ever one thinks differently and has different views. There is no such thing as right and wrong, its just what society u live in general agrees is right and just. But society can not give a answer to this particular debate because differing opinions, and will most likely never be able to unless something is changed... not happening.
ermaclob 10 months ago
@Bumblybee256 ........ Now that i think about it....?? WTF would it matter if it is you body? you dont need justification to do what you want. Just DO IT!! even if your body wasn't yours and had no rights would you give two shits... no, you'd do what ever you want with it. as long as u could get away with it. so if you want the abortion get it. even if you irresponsible and go out to screw ever night. all that matters is what you care about in the end.
ermaclob 10 months ago
@ermaclob I know, abortion will always happen. The question is whether or not women have the right to claim their own bodily autonomy safely. 'Just do it' sounds easy when you aren't the one trying to perform an abortion on yourself with a coat hanger, whilst trying not to perforate your own uterus and kill yourself.
Bumblybee256 10 months ago
@Bumblybee256 WTF... that last sentence lost me, i dont think were arguing the same thing anymore
ermaclob 10 months ago
@ermaclob ..........? I'm saying the issue is women havinf the access to safe abortion, because it will always happen regardless.
Bumblybee256 10 months ago
@Bumblybee256 Oh.... yea... thats very important. i dont disagree with that. is that what u ment from the beginning?
ermaclob 10 months ago
@ermaclob Well, my point at the beginning was that every owns their body so there should really be no debate over whether abortion should be legal at all.
Bumblybee256 10 months ago
@Bumblybee256 well yea, but in America the liberal ideology that backbones the society, easily disputes this because that baby also has the same right to its body and u are infringing that right. there for you are doing something illegal. it can also go the other way. that i think is the real reason y abortion cant be solved in this country. liberalism supports both sides and leaves it to opinion to solve the issue. but that wont work ether
ermaclob 10 months ago
@ermaclob I'm not removing the rights of the fetus to its own body, I am removing it from mine. We don't grant others teh right to use our bodies without continuing consent- other adults, parasites etc, so why a fetus?
Bumblybee256 10 months ago
@Bumblybee256 but....., u kinda consented to it when u had sex in the first place. or did u not know that's how babys are made? and you are removing its rights to its body because you killing it witch takes away the foundational right in liberalism witch is its right to life. that essentially takes away all its inalienable rights. the only way that you could take it out would be if it was endangering your life or if you clam that the baby is not human when its a fetus....
ermaclob 10 months ago
@ermaclob In primates sex is just not just used for procreation and sex is not a contract. Consenting to the possibility of fertilisation is not the same as consenting to carrying to full term. I can have complete control over my own reproduction so why shouldn't I? Nope, I am removing it from my body, a fetus does not have rights to my body. A fetus does not have 'inalienable' rights due to merely being human.
Bumblybee256 10 months ago
This has been flagged as spam show
@Bumblybee256 ?? "A fetus does not have 'inalienable' rights due to merely being human".? can you please explain to me then how it is that people get there rights? because if being human isn't it then.......? no one has rights at all. "being human" is what gives people rights or have u never heard the term human rights in the news, court, or small take? . with this way of thinking i can easy come back and say the same thing about your rights.
ermaclob 10 months ago
@Bumblybee256 "Consenting to the possibility of fertilisation is not the same as consenting to carrying to full term"... go back 20-30 years and no one would have ever agreed to this statement. once the baby test came back positive there was no other option. you've simply say this now because it has become an handy option. but the option does not make it true. naturally it must happen, and u do consent. what would you said if abortion didn't exist?
ermaclob 10 months ago
@ermaclob Yes, well societies progress don't they? Why should I care who agrees with me? Yes, it is an option. I am now able to control my own fertility. I OWN my body so why shouldn't I. 'Naturally it must happen'- er, nope and no I don't consent to carry full term, I consent to enjoying sex. Actually, abortion has always existed. There are abortifaciant herbs that have been known about for a very long time. Women own their bodies regardless of what the public opinion is.
Bumblybee256 10 months ago
@Bumblybee256 as is your opinion, however, it is not a solid truth. So.... what do you think about abortion being called murder. It technically is, I believe. Since your for abortion do you have any opinion on that? i personally dislike pro-lifers that spit that in peoples faces "your a Murderer!! your a Murderer!!!!"
ermaclob 10 months ago
@ermaclob Lol, 'solid truth'? So? I think it's ridiculous because it once again implies I am obliged to let my body be used and a fetus is not a person. Merely being human doesn't give you a sacred right to be born.
Bumblybee256 10 months ago
@Bumblybee256 i can assume you have very lose beliefs in the Bill of Rights and your pretty much denying what it says. Actually...did you just notice what you just said? "fetus is not a person." you didnt say this before. you said they are human. if they aren't it IS justifiable to kill them :) and everything you said would make more scene in terms of rights. however if they are human..the rights stand strongly against you, the right to life is more important. so tell me are they human or not?
ermaclob 10 months ago
@ermaclob Yet another american who believes everyone else is american. Yes, they are of the species human, simply being human doesn't denote personhood. Why does simply being hommo sapiens give you a special right to live?
Bumblybee256 10 months ago
@Bumblybee256 well, im just saying the overall view of what most people would tell u based one some of the readings ive done. its not necessarily what i think. and so what if the view is American. those views are supposed somewhat forced on others its just how the ideology works. hommo sapiens = human = Human Rights. its thats simple. what do u mean personhood? you make it sound like if someone is feral and raised by animals they do not have rights. i would assume new borns dont have it ether
ermaclob 10 months ago
@ermaclob Well- explain to me why simply being human gives you a special right to life? Do you eat meat? My DNA is not what makes my life valuble to me, it's my consciousness, memory, personality etc. No, I don't think a newborn is a 'person', but they are an independent being and I can't see any circumstance that it would be ok to kill one.However- this is mostly irrelevant to debate. Even if a fetus was busily composing a symphony it wouldn't give it the right to use me.
Bumblybee256 10 months ago
@Bumblybee256 but, it your falt for it being in that situation in the first place, its not like it was just like "Oh, im just gonna go in here and grow in this lady wom." you put it there consciously knowing that there was a possibility that it could grow. there for it doesn't matter if you consent to the use of your body or not *afterwords.its like playing an extreme sport and completely disregarding the possibility of danger. just because you say its not going to happen does not make it so
ermaclob 10 months ago
@ermaclob You view a fetus as being produced by a woman's 'fault'? Women are entitled to enjoy sex lives without consenting to carry a fetus. Does that mean that abortion in the case of rape is fine with you? In which case what just happened to teh so called rights of the fetus? Yes, I knew it might grow- I also know I can take it out of I like because I own the equipment. What's your point? Maybe hospitals should save money treating RTAs- they knew driving could be dangerous!
Bumblybee256 10 months ago
@Bumblybee256 ok, women can have all the fun they want taking the dick. but at some point there needs to be a level of responsibility in knowing that a child can be conseved by there actions. and that child is a potential person with feelings blaa blaa etc and it has no other option because of u. a good pro lifer would fight the rap shit to the end. but i wold honestly have to say fuck that shit. all the later reasons still apply though.
ermaclob 10 months ago
@ermaclob And having an abortion can be taking responsibility. Are you really so challenged as to be talking about a fetus and it's 'options'? You have hereby stopped forming coherent sentences and are still avoidant. If you don't intend to address either of those issues don't reply.
Bumblybee256 10 months ago
@Bumblybee256 hospitals get paid for there services, you do not. and that is i think the reason alot of people have abortions. they had to much fun Screwing and don't want to face the consequences and put the effort and responsibility in to the other side of there decisions. I bet there would be 50% less abortions if you got a big reward or had the possibility of selling it after it born.
ermaclob 10 months ago
@ermaclob Lol what service is it that I'm providing? Wasn't your point that if you put yourself in a position of risk you should deal with the consequences? Why should I pay to help people who put themselves at risk. You have no idea why people have abortions and it's basically none of your business. I asked you why you have a greater right to life than a non-human, say a gorilla.
Bumblybee256 10 months ago
@Bumblybee256 "Why does simply being hommo sapiens give you a special right to live?" so i guess we can throw away all morals, ethics and logic at this point and just start killing anyone we want right. So what does give a person the right to live then? if humanity = the same thing as being a cow or a rat. where clearly not killing each other. so what is the reason?
ermaclob 10 months ago
@ermaclob It's a very simple question. Why would you need to throw away morals? That doesn't follow any train of logic at all. How are you different from a cow?
Bumblybee256 10 months ago
@Bumblybee256 your pretty much saying that being human isnt what gives right of life. so people kill everything that is not human. if humanity doesn't give use rights then we would be killing each other with the justification of no one has the rights to live
ermaclob 10 months ago
@ermaclob That's exactly what I'm saying. I've asked you why you are different from non humans......
I think you'll find people already kill eachother- and I don't think I prevent myself from killing randomers simply because they're human.
Bumblybee256 10 months ago

Someones daughter, sister, and mother. But, it would be your legal right to refuse to donate despite the fact that it would mean I would die. Given this fact, it seems a bit absurd that people would argue that a woman loses this right upon fertilization of an ovum. She has to give up the right to her body for nine months and endure the inherent risks of pregnancy and childbirth. You do not have to donate to me and I don't have to allow something to use my body as an incubator for nine months.
aislynnmidnight 1 year ago
It is the law in this country that you do not have to undergo a procedure or give up a part of your body to preserve the life of another. That means that if I were dying and the only thing that could save me was your blood, you would have the absolute right to refuse to donate despite the fact that giving blood has far less inherent risks than pregnancy and childbirth. Now, i am indisputably a person: cont.

@dlaz0109 This is not a question of choosing between the life of the mother or the unborn child.

@dlaz0109 Here is a case where the court consdiered medical science to reach its ruling that a viable fetus is a legally defined as a person.

Lol this is to easy. Simple.

Pro-Choice is mad pussy. I think people should have the ultimate choice to kill whoever they want because no one can tell me what to do with my own body. So when I choke the life out of you and watch your eyes bulge, don't dare try to infringe upon my right to do so. My health includes my psychological health and since so many of you make me angry and depressed I should have the right to stop you from affecting my health. If I am wrong, why can we dismember unborn children then?
johnhzeeb 1 year ago
And about half the victims of abortion are female and you will never be able to relate to them even if you are female because you had a choice and they didn't.
Condemn is not the way to go. These women need help. But the option to kill is not the way to go. A human being's rights should not be allowed to be cast aside for that of another just because that person is silent. Those who cannot speak for themselves need those who can to protect their rights.

AZAP28 1 year ago
Want to hear why its our choice? You dont have to carry a freakin' life sucking child for nine months. If men had to shove a child out of a very small hole for hours upon hours, on top of the nine months of pregnancy, you MEN would have drive thru abortions. Its OUR choice because its OUR body, and OUR life. Now it should NOT be used as a form of birth control, BUT, if its a teenager, a rape/incest victim, a woman who may DIE in the pregnancy, its a respectable choice the woman should live with.
Bristowbratz 1 year ago
BTW being Pro CHOICE is about having a choice. YOU have a choice to decide whether you want to do things & so should we as women. Despite whether YOU believe it to be "OK" or "right" or "moral". When do YOUR choices overpower mine? When do I lose MY choices? Oh wait a minute... you can't even CHOOSE any of this b/c you're a MAN and can't get pregnant in the first place!!
AZAP28 1 year ago 4
@AZAP28
" YOU have a choice to decide whether you want to do things & so should we as women."
Yes, but you see the thing is, this "choice" in paricular involves ending a human life. When men make choices like that, they get arrested.
" When do YOUR choices overpower mine?"
If this is in reference to the man who inseminated the woman, then this question basically boils down to yo arguing that the woman's choice sould overpower the man's.
priley1984 1 year ago
@priley1984 There is great debate over when an embryo then fetus become a 'human life' ~ I won't argue specifics b/c clearly everyone has a difference of opinion. Does viablity play a role at all? As for the man having a choice over the pregnancy, sad to say but no. A man has the right to walk away if he doesn't want to be involved as a father leaving the woman to do it alone.
If a man could get pregnant instead, it would be HIS choice to keep it or terminate it too. But he can't, so he's SOL!
AZAP28 1 year ago
@AZAP28
A body is formed, and a new heart is beating.
priley1984 1 year ago
@priley1984 Earliest stages of development of these vital organs & functioning in a primitive way. It's not the same as a human just yet... it will potentially develop into fully formed and fully functioning organs/extremities. But cannot and will not survive outside the womb. Not viable. Not really alive or dead... just existing but only b/c of being in the womb attached to the woman.
AZAP28 1 year ago
@AZAP28
"Earliest stages of development of these vital organs & functioning in a primitive way."
Many embryological text books across the U.S. will tell you that, based on objective scientific research, a human life begins at conception. Common sense should tell you the same thing, since every single person on the planet came into existence at conception. You don't say that you didn't exist until your body reached a certain stage of development.
priley1984 1 year ago
@AZAP28
"But cannot and will not survive outside the womb."
This is not true. There are many stories of babies born four months premature, and not only do they survive, but they grow into fully intelligent human beings.
I guess we shouldn't call a baby who survives being born four months earlier than normal a human, since they came out of the womb at a certain "non-human" point of development.
priley1984 1 year ago
@priley1984 Maybe "I" should've been more specific from the get go... I am referring to abortions before 12 wks. And no embryo can survive outside the womb at this stage.
I have always thought 'murder' to be when someone stops the breath of another. Because we all need air in our lungs to live. Clearly in utero this is 'different' except when the lungs are not formed & dont function, only in a primitive way. Movement does not mean function. Preparing for function, for life does not mean alive.
AZAP28 1 year ago

@AZAP28 says: have always thought 'murder' to be when someone stops the breath of another.
~~~~~~~ So, if I kill the man raping my daughter, its murder because he was breathing? Heres a novel concept...LOOK IT UP! Murder is the illegal killing of a human being..thats all. A fetus isnt a human being and abortion isnt illegal. Get it? Its very simple.
Sueezee1 1 year ago
@AZAP28
Also, it completely eludes me when people argue about whether or not a fetus is a human life, since the word fetus is a Latin word that means offspring, and according to Webster's dictionary, an offspring is indeed a child. So when a woman makes the decision to abort a fetus, but the very definition of the word, she is choosing to end a human life.
priley1984 1 year ago
@priley1984 I'm curious why then if the fetus is alive and considered a human being, why a birth & death certificate cannot be issued when a woman has a miscarriage? At a certain gestational age, if a woman has a 'miscarriage' or 'stillbirth' she is required by law to register both. But not before that stage.
AZAP28 1 year ago
@AZAP28
"I'm curious why then if the fetus is alive and considered a human being, why a birth & death certificate cannot be issued when a woman has a miscarriage?"
Just as I am curious why abortion is considered empowerment, but a miscarriage is considered an emotional issue, when they both involve the death of a fetus/embryo? Because the life growing within them was lost. Are you saying it's less emotional when a woman chooses to end the life herself?
priley1984 1 year ago
@priley1984 Generally when a woman has a miscarriage & is upset by it, it's b/c she wanted the pregnancy, most likely planned, hoped for, excited about etc. Who said abortion is considered empowerment? You assume that b/c prochoice ppl want the choice to be left to the woman that abortion is enjoyed or seen as THE answer. It's another option.
I notice however that my question wasn't acknowledged tho. Interesting.
AZAP28 1 year ago
@AZAP28
"When do I lose MY choices?"
This, I'm assuming, is you saying that a woman has the right to control her own body. But when a woman agrees to have sexual intercourse and has an "unplanned pregnancy," isn't that proof that a woman lost control over her body somewhere down the line? Wouldn't a woman who has control over her own body have a planned pregnancy?
priley1984 1 year ago
@priley1984 Who said anything about control? It's about having the right to put in/take out/remove or replace things that are in your own body. What strikes me funny about this debate is that prolife ppl assume that women who have an abortion do it with not a care in the world. Like it's something she's gonna 'squeeze in' after she goes to get her hair done before 'spin class'. It's a difficult choice that is made on an individual basis, reasons don't have to make sense to anyone but her!
AZAP28 1 year ago
@AZAP28
“A man has the right to walk away if he doesn't want to be involved as a father leaving the
woman to do it alone.”
Wow. So, even though it takes two to create a human embryo, you're telling me that the burden of responsibility rests solely on the woman? That's putting a lot of pressure on females everywhere.
priley1984 1 year ago
@priley1984 I was merely saying that he holds that right and it happens all the time. I'm not saying that I agree with it or even condone it. However, it happens. I was using it as an example of how men use their rights to do as they see fit, and so a woman deserves the same right without worrying about the 'donor' .
AZAP28 1 year ago
@AZAP28
That's because they don't want the woman to keep the baby, which they think is the only alternative once the child is born.
A man should have his say, though, because it was his decision as well as hers that brought the child into existence. Not saying that his say is final, but the two should communicate. Lack of communication does end many relationships.
priley1984 1 year ago
@priley1984 OMG for sure! It's definitely important to communicate. I just don't think he has THE final say b/c it's her body that has to go thru everything. And while I advocate choice, I don't think that abortion is the BEST choice. I just think that it's important we don't remove choice from women. I "get" the argument, I've heard it a zillion times over. I just don't think about it the same way. I think that it's for each individual to decide for themselves. Not society as a whole.
AZAP28 1 year ago
@AZAP28
“Who said anything about control? It's about having the right to put in/take out/remove or replace things that are in your own body.”
Actually it's about two things: The exploitation of women and murder. Hitler understood this when he used abortion to control the populations of the “inferior races.”
priley1984 1 year ago
@priley1984 Hitler did more than 'control the population' with forcing abortion. It was to degrade, humiliate, make them suffer among other things. What I'm referring to is a woman being able to decide the outcome of a pregnancy. What gives you the right to decide for her?
AZAP28 1 year ago
@AZAP28 “It's a difficult choice that is made on an individual basis”
Well no wonder it's such a difficult choice to make, since you've pretty much said that the burden of responsibility rests solely on her. I wonder if that's why there are so many male abortion activists. Because a pro-choice woman believes a woman should not only carry the burden of responsibility for the choice she made, but his as well. Despite the fact that it takes two, the responsibility falls entirely on the woman.
priley1984 1 year ago
@priley1984 Yes, b/c that's what I was referring to when I said it's a difficult choice.
If a man doesn't want a woman to consume certain foods while pregnant, does he get the right to choose that for her too? Ridiculous? Maybe, but so is being told what you can & can't do with your own body.
AZAP28 1 year ago
@AZAP28
"you can't even CHOOSE any of this b/c you're a MAN and can't get pregnant in the first place!!"
You make it sound like a woman can get pregnant by herself. The truth is that a woman can not get pregnant without receiving elements from a man's body. The woman's lover should have a say, since he used "his body" to help create said embryo.
And before you write off prolife as misogynistic, I want you to read quotes from prominent feminist activists, like Susan B. Anthony. Later
priley1984 1 year ago
@priley1984 So what about when a man wants his wife/girlfriend etc to have an abortion but she doesn't want to? Does he lose his right to that choice b/c it's HER body? If yes, regardless of your reason, then he should lose his right altogether. You cannot justify him losing HIS right b/c he wants to end the pregnancy or as you'd say end a 'life', but agree to his choice in the matter to keep the pregnancy. Double standard much?
AZAP28 1 year ago
@AZAP28
“So what about when a man wants his wife/girlfriend etc to have an abortion but she doesn't want to?”
Pro-choice women are all about the “right to choose,” so what's stopping her from exercising that right then?
priley1984 1 year ago
@AZAP28 “ Does he lose his right to that choice b/c it's HER body?”
To answer your question, no, he doesn't lose his right b/c it's “her body,” he loses his right because he's an abusive asshole. If a man tries to enforce his will on a woman to have an abortion when she doesn't want to, that is a form of abuse, and she needs to get out.
priley1984 1 year ago
@AZAP28 “Double standard much?”
Oh, you mean like how when pro-choicers accuse pro-life people of being cruel by holding up pictures of “dead babies,” when those pictures reflect the very thing pro-choice people condone? How can a person who is pro-choice say it is cruel for a pro-life person to expose the horrifying reality of abortion, but not so cruel when a woman chooses to have one?
priley1984 1 year ago
@priley1984 It's more about the exaggeration & lies that MANY MANY prolife groups put out there. Claiming the pictures are of fetuses at early stages when they are nowhere near as developed. Not to mention, there are several women who go into have an abortion who don't really want one but feel they have no options & they feel bad enough. To then walk out and be smacked in the face by horrific images? It's cruel b/c it does nothing but hurt, where's the support so she doesn't do it again?
AZAP28 1 year ago
@AZAP28
" It's more about the exaggeration & lies that MANY MANY prolife groups put out there. Claiming the pictures are of fetuses at early stages when they are nowhere near as developed"
Of course, those photos CAN'T reflect the horror of abortion, since if they did, that would expose abortion for what it is: murder.
Also, if they don't reflect the reality of abortion, why is it than some abortion workers look back on their work as the murder of children? I guess some are...
priley1984 1 year ago
@priley1984 You asked why prochoice ppl refer to the pics as cruel, but not the act. That's why... It would be different if prolife ppl offered more support rather than condemnation to those who consider, have had or will have an abortion. How is it productive to attack & condemn? Make ppl feel less willing to seek help, speak out & instead feel judged & afraid. Not something I'd want to stand up for. I'd rather tell the woman it's her choice & these are her choices, here's help if you need it.
How is it that abortion isn't terminating a human life, but after the deed is done, we have a “dead baby” on our hands?
priley1984 1 year ago
BTW, a few definitions: Fetus: The unborn offspring from the end of the 8th week after conception (when the major structures have formed) until birth. Up until the eighth week, the developing offspring is called an embryo - which is an organism in its early stages of development, especially before it has reached a distinctively recognizable form.
'Nuff said.
loveme356able 1 year ago
"The my body my choice" arguement is not about the fetus' life, it is about not having to go through the process of pregnancy and giving birth if you do not want to. Until the "pro lifers" start supporting embryonic research of miscarried fetuses and already aborted fetuses in order to improve implanting a fetus from one womb into another and succesfully continue pregnancy, then abortion is the only reliable option to avoid giving birth.
A WOMEN HAS A RIGHT TO AN ABORTION BECAUSE A FETUS IS INVATING PRIVATE PROPERTY (THE WOMANS BODY). JUST BECAUSE SHE HAD SEX THAT DOES NOT MEAN SHE SIGNED A CONTRACT SAYING SHE WIIL HAVE A PARASITE INSIDE HER BODY FOR NINE LONG MONTHS.
PALOMITA694 1 year ago
think of the woman as a landlord, renting a home (her body) to someone else (a fetus). If the fetus is causing the woman pain or is a problem, much like someone renting a home, can't you kick them out? if someone was staying in your home and causing problems for you, and you had no motivation for letting that someone stay with you? except for something like rape, wouldn't you like the right to kick them out instead of having them stay with you forever?
scratchmaster101 1 year ago
And I'm sure right after this was made you went and adopted a child?
cougarsstudios 1 year ago 2
Early in pregnancy the fetus is called that for a reason. They don't call it the "human being" or even the "baby" until later on in pregnancy. It has BEGUN the development process for a potential life. It's not the best solution to an unwanted pregnancy, but neither is forcing a woman to carry it to term and give birth. Adoption or not, it's a choice. Imagine being forced to do one over the other? Why wouldn't I as a woman have that right? It is after all MY womb & I will decide when to use it.
AZAP28 1 year ago 2
Stopping a pregnancy from continuing is different than killing someone who has already been developed and born into the world, into society.
AZAP28 1 year ago
Simple
First of all, a fetus is not a baby/child/person.
But it doesn't matter.
Because even if was, it would still never have any rights extending to the right to the womans body. Her body is hers and hers alone, a fact not changed by pregnancy. And she owes use of her body to no one.
To continue a pregnancy is a charity, not a moral obligation.
lordwindowlicker 1 year ago
Ok, who's right should it be/ who should decide what a woman can or cant do with her body?
The good thing about pro choice is that it does not support one over the other, when people hear pro choice they automatically think that every woman should have an abortion.
It simply means that a woman can control her own body (ie either keep or teminate the pregnancy).
I ask you if not her who should have the right.
pregnancy is not all about the woman's body. it IS her choice whether or not she has sex, but it is NOT her choice to kill another human being. the human embryo isn't a part of her body; she can't decide to chop it off whenever she feels like it. No one has the right to kill a child.
