You must eat the animal fat with the meat. If you are living the true Paleo lifestyle then you are moving through the day. The fat is where you get the energy. Not diet conceived is going to help lazy people that sit on their butt. The body either breaks down or builds up. In order to build up you must work it. Olive and virgin coconut oils are ok however most essential is the animal flesh and fats. Think and eat like an animal. Animals are lean and they eat it all. They move all day.
Since eliminating all dairy, grains and other complex carbs like sweet potatoes, white potatoes, rice etc I have lost 8 lbs of water weight. I sleep less, have more energy, I burn fat all day, I can eat half a chicken with the skin dripping fat no guilt, I think more clearly, my dark circles under eyes are gone, my skin is better, my strength increased, I can run again, ??? why would I eat carbs? I eat meat, fat, veggies, small amounts of seeds, fruit and some vegetarian proteins.
@ElPuchino. I couldn't cover all the aspects of the paleolithic diet in this video, but you are correct about fat. I recommend low carbohydrate (low grain, sugar) with fats being permitted. It is important to eat healthy fats, however: not trans fat such as margarine or shortening, not omega-6 fat such as vegetable oil. Olive oil and the fat in lean, organic meats are good fat sources.
I have to disagree with the fat part. My diet now consists of about 45-50% fat 20-30% of which is saturated and I have been losing weight faster than I have have with a low fat diet. And as an added bonus my hunger is significantly lowered during the day after eating a fatty breakfast (eggs fried in natural butter on top of a bed of spinach and avocado) and my mood is amazing during the day. Apart from that, caveman diet is the way to go!
@superluminalthought Juicy roasted whole chicken will do you more good. Of course you can't sit around all day. No diet will do any good without movement. We must move and eat like an animal if we expect to become one. If you eat like a gazelle you will look like one. If you eat like a lion, you will be like one too. Eat and think like them (not that you should hurt anyone). I mean the mental state of mind relaxed, carefree and knowing when to move, eat and sleep.
