rolls283, I think what you're hearing is actually a Canadian-tuned K5. The only P5 horns that would be wandering around on CN would be affixed to former IC equipment.
that's actually a K3L/K3H (the standard for CN) in the clip and not a K5.
K5H's (the original Canadian-tuned ones) are only on BC Rail and Quebec Cartier Mining Railway units in Canada. You can hear the sound of a K5H in most of my clips if you want to compare.
ya that's why you gotta love the rich sounding K series bells :D and ya it can sometimes be hard to discern if there are 3 or 5 notes in the horn's chord
Just Remember, CSX, that Freeport and the places that ic6071 films aren't close to the CSX/NS/former Conrail Lines in Illinois. Most of them are inner-city Chicago or downstate toward Quincy/St Louis/Springfield.
I like those Old School RR Signals.

Is the leading locomotive an ES44DC?
Nice video!
trainzandbridgez101 2 years ago
@trainzandbridgez101 I don't think so. Looks like a Dash 9 to me. I couldn't see the tell-tale "hump" on the radiator housing in the rear.

true about P5's being on ex-IC units

Thanks for the correction and extra info, ATributeToBCRail. The clip sounded richer than I would've expected from a 3-chime horn.
I've seen (and bookmarked) many of your clips, and they're pretty awesome!

U can see that the east side gate is halted a bit when it came down. I did that. I held the weights down so that it couldn't go down. HA! lol! ttyl!

3rd unit is a CN 2400 Series Dash 8-40CW
imprezzed42296 4 years ago
Do they not have the GE radiator "wings" or are my eyes just not making them out?
VespineVid2 4 years ago
3rd unit is a CN 2400 series Dash 8-40CM while the 4th is an IC Dash 8-40CW.
GEES44DC 4 years ago
Nice video. Correct me if I'm wrong though isn't the 3rd unit some kind of cowl bodied EMD?

Awsome I like that old IC rental. What is that 3 unit called. It looks like a F45.
LenaVideos 4 years ago
Either an EMD SD60F or a GE C40-8M. But, yes, they do have the same paint scheme as an F unit.

Nice clip. I liked the Lash-up. Especially that BLUE GE in CN paint. Is that a patch-job or a special scheme?
CSX6000 4 years ago
Thanks! The blue GE was at one point a Conrail unit. Then, it was sold to LMX, and then CN got 10-15 from LMX, and had them sublettered for the IC.
