Ok to the folks who claim Moffat is "ripping off" Narnia he clearly stated that this was gonna be based on a Christmas story. And really who gives a crap. A lot of stuff from the classic era borrowed elements from Hammer Horror films and various other stories. And RTD wasn't kind of originality either. It's Christmas folks just shut and enjoy the show.

I love this whole Narnia thing. The Christmas Carol rendition last year had me nervous, but the "Christmas Carol" part of it was actually really good :) Narnia and DW just seem to gel, in a wierd way. The TARDIS is just a wardrobe with another world in it. Looks great :)

What I don't like the look of are these yellow-looking space traveler people. Moffat excells at ruining stories by making them overcrowded. Just for once, JUST ONCE, can't it be JUST about the magic?

@ajax201000 Tolkien doesn't have the copyright on effigies made of wood, you know. Considering how much pagan myth is imbedded in Moffat's Who, I'd hazard to say these figures are based on the god the Green Man. (The Ents too as Tolkien was clearly a lover of mythology.) He is the representation of things green, alive, and vital. He's also a representation of rebirth and on the Winter Solstice he "dies" in order for spring to come. He's also the inspiration for Santa. It's all very Christmassy.

@ajax201000 One man's ripoff is another man's homage. He's very deliberate when he copies something he likes. He verbally talks about each time he pays homage to something. It's a matter of opinion. Nearly everyone I have talked with online and off thought "Carol" was superb. It was the 1st special I felt actually was perfect for Christmas. He's bringing classic Christmas stories both into DW and to younger viewers. There's enough difference that it doesn't feel like a complete rip to me.
