I think that every website and television channel should post this video at the same time. I believe your reading of this letter combined with the powerful words written could change the minds of so many who hate gays.
@JBernard79 I don't think it's wrong for a person to think that, or to think just the opposite. But our thoughts can be swayed by society "norms" or parental & religious input. (Many people think overweight people are ugly. Others think dark-skinned people are inferior) So what's wrong, in my opinion, is forcing our own thoughts & beliefs upon others. It touched my heart that instead of posting ugly comments here you asked an honest, valid question. I wish everyone communicated respectfully.
@jedistar What good comes from saying things like that? No one forced you to watch this video. Maybe your mother should be arrested for allowing you to turn out the way that you did.
@85dnorm You must be one of the dumbasses who has accepted the liberal crap that is spewed by the gay activists. Being gay is not normal, it will never be. We cannot let the gay activists win, that will be the end of our civilization. Maybe the suicides is nature's way of dealing with its mistakes.
Just because a kid is born that way does not make it ok. Kids are born with defective hearts and other diseases everyday. Should we just let those kids suffer just because they were born like that? The mother who wrote this letter should be arrested for neglect. She had the opportunity to treat her child early on but she choose not to do so. There are treatment options available at every age level. If this disease is caught at a early stage, chances of getting cured is much better,
@jedistar i mean clearly you are lacking any intelligence to try and say that being gay is even remotely close to a disease. Who is any person to say what is "normal", and who says those kids are suffering? The only way that children who are born gay are suffering, is from close minded neanderthals like you, the "jocks" and whoever else that give them hell from day 1. Let me know when you find a cure for being a close minded jackass.
@jnorm420 Love the lib logic. You people don't allow people to disagree with you. Your way is always the right way. I have news for you, people have been cured from this disease. Go to narth.com and read about it. Maybe someday you will be cured.
@jedistar I'm pretty sure i never said my opinion is the right way or no way at all, apparently you can't read well either. I went to that website and its just for gay people who CHOOSE to try and change their homosexuality, which most probably just feel guilty and ashamed because most of them have had hard lives growing up and made to feel that its the worst thing in the world. I respect your opinion, however obscure in my eyes, your comments are just specious and mean nothing
@jedistar Depends on your definition of normal, okay, suffering, treatment, diseased, and cured. Would you say being attracted to blonds is a disease? Or taller vs. shorter people? Being attracted to what you're attracted to has nothing to do with disease. Could there be something genetically different compared to the current majority of people on the planet? Yes. But normal distributions change and differentiate throughout time, nothing is this world is stagnant. So your "cure" is myth.
Everyone on the planet should watch this video. It's a message so many need to hear. We are who we are. Without individuality, people following their dreams and simply being themselves this world would be a pretty boring and unhappy place. What a beautiful letter. Thank you for reading it.
@xevilsuziex Wow, you're welcome! And thank you! For commenting, and for so beautifully expressing exactly how my husband and I (and countless others) feel about how sad the world would be without individuality and differences. It's always so heart-warming to bump into kindred spirits. You really, REALLY made my day! Oh, and thanks also for your kind words below spoken in defense of my face! But I think he actually had a really good point. : ) Thanks again for writing.
@melTorino How insulting! Maybe you didn't want to look at her but please don't speak for anyone else. I find her warm and friendly looking. Also, I think seeing someone read aloud is much more appropriate for the subject matter. It's much more effective than some slideshow set to background music like most people make.
@melTorino I totally agree that no one wants to look at my face for 6 minutes! (Not even me! : ) Yikes. But I had no idea how to edit it. I thought about using just a black screen with audio only. But then, that seemed almost as scary as my face! So, it is what it is. I do applaud those who sat through it though. The only reason they could is because the letter itself is so amazingly well-written! The message makes up for the vessel. And THAT is really saying something : ) Thanks for your input.
I'm sitting here sobbing, imagining how incredible it must feel to hear a message like that from your mom. She so clearly has her son's back. Wow. Thanks for reading this to us, you're pretty darn cool too!!
@RipplesGuy Aw, thank you so much. Well you're also "pretty darn cool" to take the time to share your thoughts. : ) And yeah, when I read Marta's letter I cried also. So powerful, and inspiring. Thanks again for your note, RipplesGuy!
I have the proud honor to call David my boyfriend. We have been together for a little over a year and he is the most wonderful thing that has ever happened to me. I just wanted to tell you that your powerful reading of Marta's letter has moved so many in our lives and for that, I cannot thank you enough. Your courage should be an inspiration to everyone and will hopefully garner more support for an equal and just society. All my best to you and your family.
@iworkatcoach Thanks so much for your kind words. It's an amazing letter, and its message is so timeless, and so vital. What an honor it was for me to be able to share it here. Thanks again for your note!
I know David, not as well as I would like to, but from what I've known, he has always been a really nice guy and very funny and overly smart ;) It's so nice to see him be praised and neat to hear how great he was even as a child. Please keep this going <3

Why is it wrong for people to think sex/relationships/marriage should be between a man and a woman?

@jedistar Are you being sarcastic? Being gay is not a disease. The only people it hurts are the ones who refuse to accept it.

If only more people had the attitude that Marta has....
