  • who cares where ole joostan was born? he was funny and I loved his cooking show AND comedy records

  • Feyd, you are an embarrasment to your name. Justin Wilson was a great ambassador for Cajun culture and food to the rest of America. "Fie Harkonnen! I do not feel your knives!" Paul Muad'Dib claimed your water, though you carried Shaddam's soporific stained blade in the duel.

  • I loved Justin Wilson he was so funny!

  • To the fuckwit troll: Wilson had a background and career in engineering prior to becoming a tv cook and personality. And that take a little more education than "passing kindergarten", ah guar-ahn-tee!

  • Justin is a collage graduate....he used the cajun accent as a way to present safety engineer talks to manufacturing people....mostly in oil business...he became so popular that they talked him into making a record....along about when "brother Dave" Garner and Andy Griffith cut their biggest records.........met him at a Monsanto plant...........

  • Thanks cher, dees are great. You done did right by sharing dee

    s. I done told you, i guarentee.

  • Well BaronFeyRautha...you are a ass....you would have to stand on your mothers shoulders to kiss Justin's ass!...keep your mouth closed and your ears open...

  • how the fuck did this inbred swamp baby get a tv show he sounds like he couldnt even pass kindergarten

  • He's cajun you dumbass. How the hell did you pass kindergarten if you can't even comment with proper grammar?

  • @BaronFeydRautha Didn't even pass kindergarden? How about if your going to "cap" on someones grammar ( which is what I'm guessing your talking about.) When your commenting not using proper punctuation, or capitalization!

You faggot fuck, you sound like you couldn't even pass kindergarten.

  • @BaronFeydRautha uhm its an accent you dumbass, its a mix of a french accent, learn some fucking history.

  • 2 people cant aim with their steel balls

  • I used to love watching him cook and listening to him tell his tales.

I was so sad when he passed.

    R.I.P. Justin. You are missed.

  • I sure miss Justin. They should rerun all of his shows; I'd watch!

  • ...Does this come with subtitles? I'm assuming it takes an American to understand this haha

  • @NingyoAijin An American with some Louisiana experience! lol

  • I loved watching him as a kid back in the 80's, it was the way he talked that was so intreging and watched him up till his death. Its because of Justin Wilson that got me started in watching cooking shows.

  • Who would vote this man down?

  • @DrPoon someone who is crazy.best cooking show ever

  • I watched many many Justin Wilson episodes with my grandmother who's from Garryville. I miss her. Watching these brings a tear to my eye and great memories to heart

  • JUSTIN IS A STAPLE OF MY CHILDHOOD, RIP

  • @markdeez33 Same here! I used to watch him with my dad.

  • I'll say it to the day I die that louisiana cajun accent is the best & most unique accent in the english speaking world. And there really just good hardworking people who speak their minds. I'm from philly but thats the impression I got during the lil bit of time I spent down there.

  • @phil7765 Amen!! I was just talking to my sister about those series and how much we loved to watch. Nothing compares to those great shows. Natalie Dupree and so many others!

  • I love his accent

  • wow, It took me a while to find this guy. My late grandfather sounds just like him. Straight up Louisiana to the bone.

    R.I.P Edgar L. Borne, Jr.

  • I didnt get the punchline lol

  • Funny!

  • @vibe05jack hey jackass i bet you dont say those thing to someone else face . I guese looser like you who dont have a life there own! put a sock in it scumbag you racist piece of shit!

  • @rebel70s oh shut the fuck up, the confederacy is dead you inbred, IGNORANT, trailer trash, sister fuckin, coon huntin, truck muddin, illiterate, moon shine chuggin, overall wearin, nascar lovin, swamp mother fucker, shut the fuck up, Ive got half a fuckin mind to tell you, that your a goddamn idiot.

  • @vibe05jack Well that isn't a sweet thing to say at all.

  • Oh! how we miss you Justin Wilson. I used to watch all your cooking shows and listen to your stories. Such fun!

  • This guy cracks me up! I love this stuff!

  • If you have love and understanding in your heart and a true sense of humor you will find him entertaining. If you don't ... well please accept my sympathy.

He was a national treasure and expert in creating authentic Louisiana rural cuisine while providing witty humor that was void of vulgarity.

Just a good man doing some authentic regional cooking and story telling.

    I liked him.

  • are you crazy...whats wrong with eating squirrels and eating them?

  • @Flankersquirrels No, they were just hungry!! After all you great Yanks salted our fields and made farming damn near impossible we did what we had to do to stay alive. Up yours you high horse Yankee!!

  • @Flankersquirrels Squirrels are food. They didn't have any tofu on the hoof down there. Yeah, most people go to supermarkets to get their meat these days and they seem to think the distance absolves them.

At least a lot of the southerners, mountain people and hill folk I've met were able to provide food for their families the honest way and no lies.

I'm not a vegetarian though I do sympathize with that lifestyle. Still, we, as an urbanized country, are far removed from the reality of our food.

  • @pang5 "Mountain people and hill folk"?? You mean the "you sure got a pretty mouth, Boy" type of folk??

  • @EzrinJem2 Heh. Well, I'm sure the characters in the novel and film were sketched based upon that stereotype.

  • Justin wilson put cajuns and creole on the map. Not to many people don't know anything about cajuns and creoles the culture lifestyle. I'm from lake charles,la but i grew up in North Carolina. I'm proud of my cajun and creole heritage. My last name is Cormier that's cajun!!!! Miss old Justin

  • When I was in the Air Force a friend of mine from New Orleans introduced me to the wonderful world of Justin Wilson.

I've been a fan ever since. The man was a legend and I miss him.

  • How does an argument start on some old cooking show from my days growing up? lol its unbelievable.

  • @foch41 By artful trolling which, I admit, caught me. :)

  • LOVE this show. One of the first real cajuns i've seen on TV ever.

  • @Saskinny I'm from the south too and he speaks just like my granfather!! Before t.v southerners spoke differently. So stop hatin' on your own kind and accept that there are differences in southern accents!

  • lol look at this yankee. you probably hate you parents don't you?

  • lol

  • I know what yall mean there are alot of Stupid people who are behind the The P.C. who are to afraid to say bad names to anyone face so they are to coward to call us Redneck or Hillbilly they are chicken!

  • This whole argument people seem to engage in, somehow keeping a straight face, that Wilson was either a real or full-blooded cajun or not, is laughable. There haven't been full-blooded cajuns since the first group (that landed in 1757) died. If you want to know any historical information about Acadians, the last people to ask are self-described "cajuns," a number of whom have--wait for it--GERMAN!--last names: Loupe, Waguespack, etc...& none of whom know how to pronounce their own names.

  • He was born in Tangipahoa Parish in Louisiana--not in Mississippi. His father was the Louisiana State Commissioner of Agriculture in the 1920s and 1930s. Many people have said Wilson was born in MS. It is absolutely untrue.

  • Justin Wilson was born in 1914 in Roseland, Lousianna and he died in Baton Rouge , Lousianna, Please !!! this man was a cooking Icon dont speak wrong words of him unless you know for sure!!!!

  • a redneck is a hate filled ignorant person. Wilson was a country person. Not a redneck.

  • I am from the south and i enjoyed Cajun cooking and ascent its what make America so unique.Oh by the way you haters you dont know this man Justin Wilson he is 100 percent Cajun i am a Okie and my friends who are From Louisana they talked the same way as Justin does If you dont like the way people are then shut the fuck up and get a life!

  • i think there just jealous they can't talk as good as him they got southern envy they want to be like us in the south

  • Reminds me soo much of my grandpa. Love his stories :)

  • Justin Wilson Reminds me of Jerry Clower.

  • omg i cant beleive i found this. yeah

  • God bless him, he was the best!

  • I dare anyone to watch him without at least smiling. He puts most TV cooks to shame when it comes to entertainment. A legendary tv cook he is.

  • Being a Texan living in a Border city with Arkansas.I get made fun of too ,with the way I talk, living in the 4 states area,I have a Mixture of Texas,Arkansas, oklahoma, and Louisana mixed into one accent.thiers never A time I dont get caLled a HIllbilly,I enjoyed Justin Wilson ,as a child in the 80;s I always watched his show

  • Me n my pappa used to watch his show and I love still love it, now... Now some of my relatives used to have a simillar accent to justin's but I think they have all passed away by now. I miss hearing that cajun accent.

  • I love this show growing up in New Orleans, I garontee!! (lol)

  • Life was good back in Justin's day.

  • Yeah, it sure as heck was Joe! Isn't today though I'm afraid!

  • I'm so glad this was posted. When I was a kid I'd get so drawn into his stories and the ends were so anticlimactic that THAT was the funny part. This was a classic example. 5 stars

  • Awesome!

  • i remember watching this show with my grandparents...he's the reason i went to culinary school!

  • fuckin city slicker :}

  • i loved this guys show

  • Taaral , thank you for posting these! The first episode I recall watching was the garlic bread episode. I agree with the other posters that food network has no clue about cooking food. Mr Wilson is the real deal. I live in the south and he is not a fake. Please post the opening and close of the show if you get time.

  • he was awesome

  • I really miss the old man. He was a great story teller and a pretty darn good cook. But I cook better Natchitoches Meat pies.. :)

  • I loved watching Justin as a child. He kept up with the ideals of the simpler times with his cooking and stories and made life a joy. Its just a shame his shows are not shown anymore, lord knows today's television needs it.

  • I love hearing this accent. Its so unique. Some of my family have it and I just enjoy listening to them. I prefer this than the damn country accent that I acquired.

  • justin wilson is the finest human being that ever lived

  • I really miss watching Justin Wilson on Saturday evenings with my mom who is now deceased also. Saturdays are not the same anymore without the two of them. May they both rest in peace!!! LOVE ALWAYS GMAMACAT

  • This was great The accent is real but the way he prounnounced the words was little hyped..I am orginally from Louisiana and there is a lot of slang and broken french used there.

  • Squirrel is alot better than most wild game--Its great!!!

  • Oooh! I used to love watching him as a child!

  • Very nice... love the Cajun speech.

  • I love the cajun accent!

  • Im from Louisiana. Grew up around Lecompte, Justin Wilson would stop in at the local truck stop when ever he could. He was said to have a little crush on my grandma. As she tells it he actually was only half cajun. His mom was full blooded or "full beed"

as he would say. His dad was a texan. The accent is real but tweeked up a little for show.

  • oh come on he was great anyone talkin bad about him should be ashamed

  • we had his comedy albums as a kid. I miss his show!

  • he should win an academy award if he is fake!

  • You want to talk a fake...that would be Emerril. He is from Massachusetts!!! He claims to be a New Orleans guy. He sucks!

  • I agree, Annoying man. Him and Racheal Ray. That food network needs to go away. They are like an annoying people magnet.

  • well, cajun or not, he was the real deal boy, the bayou had him, and its shamefull the way you talk about him after he dead now! Vergogne sur vou!!!!!!

  • Ditto

  • Good old louisiana home sweet home

  • Folks down in that part of the country in Louisiana are friendly and have a delightful sense of humour unlike alot of Texans who are clanish unfriendly inbreds. I used to watch Justin and I bet he was just as affable in real life as he was on tv.

  • Oh My God, I Love this Guy!

  • I grew up in South Louisiana,,,,,,,Mr. Justine was my neighbor for a number of years until my family moved. I assure you he was the real deal. He was a common man who treated his friends and neighbors with the same love and respect he showed his family how dare any of you have the nerve to insult his memory.

  • My heritage is not in question here ,,,,,,your intelligance however is.

Mr. Justin never once claimed to be 100% cajun. He admitted to it that he was only half cajun french on his mothers side. I take insult at your willingness to attack the character of a fine man. One who contributed many times to the community at large as well as the cajun french community. I knew the man you make him sound like common scum. He was anyting but that.

  • He's about as cajun as Marge is from MN in Fargo, or Spicole is from LA in Fast Times at Ridgemont High, or how black Rerun is on What's Happening, etc. It's for humour. That's it. He was a safety engineer who started telling Cajun

  • I feel so raped!

  • My Dad was raised in and around Morgan City and Houma, and later Baton Rouge.

He thought Justin Wilson was somewhat amusing, but always tol' us he was not the Real Deal.

Dad gave up his Cajun accent in the late 40's in order to get ahead in business. "You have to lose that hick accent, son," his boss told him. My uncles didn't move out of state, though, so they always talked that way.

  • flashbacks from my youth. i loved this guy when i was a child. sad to see he died in 2001. i will be visiting his dot com!

  • HES LIKE THAT DUDE IN WATERBOY

  • you are right. he is.. such an insult to acadian people. its like justin, dude, form your words when you speak. we all can do it why can't you?

  • That said,

    Ya are always welcome here,

but, if you find the Oysters alone in the atchafalaya basin let them be; Katrina done did them enough.

  • Actually, He "was" only half.

The other half was pure perfect compliment for the first half; but now He is whole.

BTW, southcoastdub, there is never 100%,

Thibodaux, Iberia, LSP, and even up in Ruston, you know someone from Louisiana with the first words they speak.... it has nothing to do with accent. It has to do with the way they form their words in a sentence.

  • To be frank though he's only half cajun. With a last name like wilson he's NOT cajun, except for his accent though. His accent is mostly cajun with some creole in it. U know u hear 100% cajun when you are around the atchafalaya river and its VERY distinct.

  • Lot of folks named Jefferson that sure ain't English!

  • yes he is only half cajun. the accent, well you can tell that he is faking it for even my father, who has a thick accent from speaking french his whole life, doesn't use broken english like justin is using...

  • I totally remember this story from when I was a kid. I miss Justin's show.

  • visit justin wilson dot com!

  • Yes Justin passed away. He is deeply missed. Loved the stories, but his BBQ is Legendary. He was the best. I Garunteee.

  • Did he pass away? I remeber never missing his show on PBS lol!!

  • taste like chicken

  • That's great stuff. Miss that guy, but I'm sure he must have cooked himself into the grave. Used to watch his show quite often, and with the amount of butter and fat he'd cook with, I'm surprised he lived as long as he did.

    Thanks for posting it!!

  • I love Justin... I gar-own-tee...

  • Squirrel is alot better than most wild game--Its great!!!

  • Squirrel is DELICIOUS! don't knock till ya try it!

  • Great stuff.. Can't wait to see more !!!

  • Hi, anyone know where i can see more of Justin wilson or people who sound like him?

  • i'll be uploading more as i get them!

  • may i ask... why do you like the way he talks?

  • Hi, i was researching his accent for an acting role.

    How are you?

  • oh really.. lol interesting.. what is this thing that youre auditioning for about?

  • Hi, im happy to tell you but would rather not anounce it on here. Maybe we can xchange emails?

  • To be frank though he's only half cajun. With a last name like wilson he's NOT cajun, except for his accent though. His accent is mostly cajun with some creole in it. U know u hear 100% cajun when you are around the atchafalaya river and its VERY distinct.

  • Justin Wilson was the man, i loved that guy. BTW squirrel is quite tasty.

  • I heard they eat squirrels down there. Yuck I can't imaagine that. He's a good story teller though. He's funny and I could listen to him and his accent for hours.

  • I love this guy!!

  • What chu talkin' 'bout Willis?? I don't think anyone really believes all Cajuns are just like Justin. Now, the Cajuns in "The Waterboy" are the real deal. "You can do eeet!!"

  • well there are some dumbasses out there who actually believe that, believe it or not lol.

  • Brittney, you need to get a grip. I'm from Kentucky and I don't get all riled up with every redneck, hick dumb*ss that declares he/she saw a UFO flying right over their single-wide trailer while they sat in their mu-mu and sponge-rollers. Whether he is acting or that really is the way he is, he was fun to watch and I enjoyed hearing his stories. Get over it and get on with your life.

  • YES SIR

  • Just a word of advice, Brittney, if he irritates you that much, then JUST DON'T LISTEN TO IT and let the rest of us who do enjoy watching Justin do so in peace.

  • YES SIR
