  • you have way to many rudders

  • Bet it would be good on snow

  • I don't know if this is a trick of the eyes but are you actually flying uphill?

I'm going to build one this summer and thought that uphill would be the biggest challenge.

  • Going uphill is no problem if you have enough thrust. If you design your craft right you should have about 3 kilos of thrust for each hp of power. I have about 10hp in propulsion, so that's about 30 kilos thrust. The craft with driver weights about 130 kilos so the maximum grade I can climb in % is about 30/130 x 100 = 23%

  • how can i make one

  • Check out my answer to Bryan33015 below. I can't offer any plans for my craft but I recommend Universal Hovercraft plans.

  • Can you remember the plans?

  • See my answer below to Bryan33015. Are you a beginner builder, if so you should not make a craft as complicated as mine. The transmission with the toothed belts was very hard to manufacture. You should get plans from Universal Hovercraft, best is the UH13PT, that craft has two engines one engine is on the lift fan and the other on the propulsion making it super simple to build. And it works just as well.

  • How can u get the plans i cant find them...is their any way u can send me some plans...thanks...

  • No, sorry I don't have any plans, I never really made plans while building it, just sketched lots of stuff in a notebook and made some computer drawings for various bits & pieces. I recommend the UH13PT model from Universal Hovercraft as the best performing and easiest to build craft you can make from plans today. My first craft was made from Universal Hovercraft plans.

  • Can you please post them online I love that hovercraft.

  • what are the dimensions?

  • 2m60 long by 1m40 wide.

  • Is this puppy single engine powered?

  • yes, one raket 120 14HP engine powering both fans. There's a shaft running from the rear where the engine is to the front where the lift fan is.

  • thats awesome, were you on water and just cruising like a boat? I cant see how you would get any lift on that side with a rip that big......if you were on land Im truly amazed.......unless the rip wasnt right through the whole length and was held together by untorn fibres and only a small amount of air was escaping...

  • yeah its a bag skirt, the other kind is called a finger skirt where there are lots of seperated pockets. The bags are a lot easier and less work to make and fit but the finger skirts allow you to keep going if a section is damaged.

  • you say that a finger skirt, (also called a segment skirt) lets it keep on going if damaged, however on my hovercraft, well my dads, (14ft long) an 8 foot rip down the length of the bag skirt didnt stop it at all! we didnt even notice until a friend in another craft pointed it out!

  • I could be wrong but im prety sure thats a bag skirt. Could do with a little more hover hight though if you asked me. Still looks alot of fun on a calm day! :D

  • Hi did you see my new video? hover height is sufficient for a nice transition from grass to water.

  • rocketscience!

  • nice i love to clean my house :P it would fit in my hall way :D

  • Sorry, is it a wall or a bag skirt?

  • Do you think you could send me some pictures of your skirt design? Is it a skirt or a bag skirt?

  • llool nice tool for cleaning house
